  • In this video I go through all the setting options on this amplifier and try to give a good demonstration of how this amp reacts under all types of conditions.
    I used a PRS CE24 guitar for all the sounds. The amp was set on the 5w setting for the entire video.
    Audio Chain:
    Guitar-Bugera G5 Head-Torpedo Captor-Apollo Twin-Protools-Wall of Sound-Ownhammer Recto 30 2x12 cab
    I did not use any other effects or compression for these tones and did not do any limiting on the stereo bus.
    More cool stuff coming soon!
    Thanks for checking it out

    Great Video! The G5 is a great little amp.

    The tones are accurate! Don’t bother with a reverb pedal it works well 1-10 on both Clean and Overdriven channels. The dial pots are smooth. Amp is clear and loud at 1w and 5w. 0.5w is more quiet but u want to turn it up 👍 Morph USA/UK works well between 9-3 o’clock. Gain (OD only) is my fav, it breaks hard after 3pm but 1-10 are all different levels of gain! Unpluged hiss noise at Clean is graduated after 12pm and OD channel at 9pm, with Tone/Gain at max. Other choice was Boss Mk2 combo but G5 has a lot of tone clarity.
    I use a 1x12 open back. With a Celestion G12-412. Sounds insane! I am making a removable close back panel for my cab. A lot of the sound air escapes the back and it sounds more full against a wall. More Ola Englund CHUG with a closed back. 🤣

    I own this amp for about six months now. I love it. I play it through a Marshall 4x12 cab, 1watt mode with the gain on 10. The morph control really gives me a lot of different tones. Nice demo!

      Thanks for watching. Yes, I have loved it as well. For playing in a smaller place where volume has to be controlled it is a perfect choice for me. I used it at a mid size gig without micing once and it held its own at 5w as well.

      @@Bearvswolf I agree the power adjustments from .1, 1 and 5 watts were a big selling point for me. This is my first tube amp. The self bias feature is pretty awesome. I also like that it comes with reverb. I'm very pleased with it.

      Is It good for metal?

    • @EC-ol8nz
      @EC-ol8nz 4 роки тому +3

      Aaron Hennessy If you like tone in your metal 😎 The amp valves warm up gently and the sound comes on strong. If u play metal use a closed cab, you will get more Ola Englund CHUG! I made a removable back for mine. 1x12 @ 1W for home practice, 2x12 @ 1W for band practice or small coffee house. 4x12 @ 5W for Roadhouse with 50 to 100 bikers😎👍 (I don’t use 0.5W) If you don’t have the cash or can’t find used... get the Boss Mk2 with all the effects. Its just as loud.

    I just received it yesterday and I'm in love already with him, very versatile, it gives you a lot of choise in tone, something to discover. Is any guide/website out there about the eq of this amp o amp in general? I'm a valve-newbie. Than you in advance!

      There are distortion pedals that cost about as much as this amp, and don't clip as smoothly.

      Hello! Thank you! I actually did not mic the amp. I used a Torpedo Captor box into an Apollo Twin then into pro tools. The cabinet was simulated by the Two Notes Wall of Sound plugin using ownhammer Impulses. I have been pretty impressed with the results vs. using a real cab!

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  5 років тому +2

      Defcon1 i would say close. If you put a pedal in front of it it will get there. Maybe a good eq pedal. Its basically a jcm 800 type sound but less edgy. I dont care for marshalls as I find then a little harsh on the top end. Bugera is a killer amp for the $. Maybe the bigger version (more wattage) would give you more punch.

      @@Bearvswolf thanks man , I'll probably give it a try being a practice amp I sounds like it will do what I'm looking for , in gonna use a old school 12inch b52 speaker to give me that low end thump , I cant stand those celestion G12T-75 or v30s their way to harsh .

    • @EC-ol8nz
      @EC-ol8nz 4 роки тому +2

      Defcon1 i use G12-412 they have a better low midrange sound, you are right about the other Celestion! If u want more Ola CHUG Bearvswolf is right too. I would use a closed back 2x12 or 4x12 Cab with Peavy Blue Marvels or Electro-Harmonix maybe a Jensen???? Practice muting open strings at saddle or lightly at 1st fret. This gives me a chug on OD channel w/gain above 75% on my 1x12. It is a tone machine tho😁✌️

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  4 роки тому +2

      Yes any size cabinet. That switch is for the headphone and direct out. You pick which voicing you like. But for using a real cabinet any size works. Just make sure its the right impedance.

      Gene 666 yes/no but the 4x12 is just an emulated effect. Also it is very subtle, you can tell when u play the d,g,b strings its on 4x12 settings. Also that plug is to go to a recorder or headphones or boom box Aux plug. It will not make your 2x12 sound like a 4x12 in any way. My Heil headphones barely tell the difference. If you want more sound out of your 2x12 try this trick... add polyfill or stuff a small pillow in the back of the cab or close the back up with wood. A 4x12 is just louder use the 5W setting if you are hard of hearing😀 I use the 1 watt setting all day long.

      Thanks very much. I ordered some audio-technica phones. My G5 finally arrived at and I'm staring at it lusting to try it out, wondering if the amp is in standby when the standby switch is UP or DOWN? Nothing in the guide except a caution to put the amp in standby when using the phones, and no indicator light or labeling. When you play through your speaker cab, is the switch UP or DOWN? Guess the opposite would be for phones. I bet I'm not the only one with their first tube amp with an unmarked, unlit standby switch that is wondering this!@@Bearvswolf

      @@scottclydesdale1674 most tube amps the light switches on when you flip the power switch. The left switch. That affectively puts the amp in standby. So you want the left switch up and the right switch down. You dont want the amp on without a “load” on it. Meaning a speaker cabinet or a load box. In this video i was using a load box.
