I have 9 tattoos and I stopped once my relationship with God began to grow. The more I learned about him, the more I felt the conviction of God about them. I repented for getting them and I haven’t gotten a new one since. I believe we should present our bodies as a living sacrifice. Holy and accepted unto Christ. (Romans 12:1) It’s different for everyone but as for me I don’t want to become a stumblingblock for those who don’t believe or for those who are still babes in Christ.
if you see this God wants you to know that He loves you and will always be there with you. He wants a relationship with you and wants to be in Heaven with you. He will return for His PEOPLE one day and Not every day is promised. Remember that when God is silent He is testing your faith He hears your prayers and His TIMING is PERFECT. I must warn you that BELIEVE is not what many christians 'think' it means. Jesus is the one who defines what BELIEVE means and this is what He says in John 10:37 If I am not doing THE WORKS of My Father, then do not believe Me. 38 But if I am doing them, even though you do not believe Me, BELIEVE THE WORKS themselves, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I am in the Father.” To BELIEVE is to not only hear and believe, but to DO THE WORKS OF THAT BELIEF. The only Law that Jesus fulfilled was the SACRIFICE & OBLATION LAWS. He is our Passover Lamb, and He is every sacrifice that we need because His blood covers a multitude of sins. The 10 Commandments are NOT Mosaic Law, they are Gods Law. If Gods Law was not known to mankind, then how could Cain be guilty of SIN for killing his brother Abel? Of course Cain was guilty because every man born knows that it is wrong to kill another man out of greed or unjustified hatred. So Cain then lied to God (another sin) when Cain denied all responsibility. The real Question here that people ought to ask is simple - Do you think Jesus would say that it's OK to put tattoos on a body that Jesus Himself created in the perfection of His own eye?

@HANUNIJA you can wear make up, nail polish, fake eyelashes, etc. It all depends on your motive. If you are trying to get attention or “fix your face” even though God crested you prefect….. then that’s the problem. Using it as a creative outlet or you think it’s fun it ok :)

Here is something super sweet and wholesome: When I was born my dad was only 18 years old. But here are the words he said to me, “When I first got to hold you in my arms my whole world changed. I immediately was determined to do better for you.” He was and is my best friend since I was born. When I was 3 years old he tattooed my name on his arm. When he came home and showed me I was so excited. I still kinda remember little things about that day. I remember tracing the letters with my little fingers all the time. To this day that is still my favorite memory of my dad.
Loved this video! I’ve struggled a lot with this topic. I’m a 24 y/o guy and have wanted a tattoo for a very long time. Nothing crazy, just an idea that I sketched out and wanted to get with my siblings. My father is a very conservative baptist and has expressed how much he disapproves of this idea. We’ve gone back and forth and have both conceded and held our ground on a lot of things. All things considered, I’ve decided not to get it. Even though my intentions are good, I know doing so would hurt my relationship with my father, which would do more harm than good. I’m well aware that I am old enough, independent enough, and have the financial means to get one, but I just can’t bring myself to cause that kind of rift in my life. Maybe one day things will change but until then, this is my path.

Reminding them that yes, the building is a church because it’s their designated meeting point of worship but more importantly, the PEOPLE are the church. This is done to build them up and add gravity to the role they play as Christians interacting with each other as well as Christians who will be interacting with their local communities. They are of God so they must be holy and reflect HIS goodness. That’s all to say, I think using this verse to tell someone not to get a tattoo is diluting the meaning of God’s message here and focuses on stuff that is insignificant compared to our true purpose: loving God and loving people :)

I needed this, the concept of tattoos and what the Bible says about it has been weighing on mind for awhile. I think in the end for ME its my own personal conviction and whether I'm following my own desires or doing it out of faith. thanks Alex :)

If God was against jewelry then why does it say in this verse that He would put a nose ring and earrings on Israel as a meaning of blessings? Ezekiel 16:12 And I put a ring on your nose and earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head. Also the scripture about women adorning themselves with makeup jewelry, and braiding their hair. It is not good when they are doing it in vanity. Bc vanity is worse than pride, and if we are not secure in God that he loves us no matter how we look bc we are wonderfully and fearfully made. Then we'll turn to those things. Also for some women it is the same as tattoos for adornments, personal conviction. Bc of God's plans for a certain woman God doesn't want her to get that tattoo, or get a nose ring, bc it could delay her from doing God's work. But for another woman she asked the Lord if she can get a nose ring and tattoo, and the Lord said it is okay bc it will not delay or interfere with God's plans for her.

If a women does her makeup with the intent to feel confident she needs to wear things to feel worth is harmful to her relationship with God and having firm identity in Christ. You’re body is a supposed to be a vessel of the Holy Spirit... Would Christ tattoo himself? As far as making a connection to people at your work, you can do that in other ways than getting inked. Seems a little loose to me. That being said, I have ink from my B.C. days, I wish I could take them back, although they are part of my testimony for people to see that Christ saves people from all walks of life. Lately I’ve felt sort of convicted when I wear short sleeves. I’ve stopped rolling up my sleeves when I get hot at church, but that’s just my conviction. I just don’t feel the need to conform to the culture, just to make connections with people; and quite frankly I think it’s dangerous. but if In your experience it helped lead someone to saving faith, then who am I to judge.

I agree with you Aaron Graham! Our body is supposed to be the temple of the holy spirit, tatoos are so unnecessary for Christ-Followers. The culture is dictating this behavior not God. Though for some it may not be sin, I suggest to the people of my surroundings to avoid it altogether.
I love this!!! One of my favorite things is when I see Christians that don’t look traditionally “Christian-like” but are so involved with God and his word. Getting tattoos like yours for example are such an amazing way to spread the gospel or simply show someone about Jesus, I think that’s so beautiful! Awesome vid :)
I got a tattoo before I was saved, and I am so grateful that it has something to do with God. If it didn’t, I would have regretted it definitely. But after getting saved, I didn’t want anymore for a while. Lately though, I’m thinking about getting scripture tattooed but I don’t know if it would be right. I’ll pray about it. I would say though, that I love my tattoo because when people ask what it says, which is “there is no hiding place from the father of creation”, I can explain that it’s talking about God, and that you cannot hide from Him no matter where you go, just like Job in the Bible. He is everywhere. And I think having the tattoo, is sort of like a way that people can tell that I’m a believer
macbby_101 actually, it’s interesting because once I tell people what it says, they don’t think much of it, or they kind of give off a vibe that they think it’s weird. So while I love it to spread the message of God, it also shows to me a lot of people do not believe the same thing. Which is important for me to see. I actually have yet to meet somebody who’s on the same page, who wants to have a conversation about it ... we’ll see if I ever come upon a fellow believer. But I’m surrounded by a lot of people who don’t believe in God or Jesus Christ, or who are fake believers. A lot of people see something that is “religious” and immediately think it’s weird or creepy is what I’ve noticed. But still, I love the tattoo because it openly shows that I believe
And of course, what God thinks of me is more important than what the world thinks of me! So if they think it’s weird, then they’ll think it’s weird! And don’t be discouraged, if you want your scripture tattoo and pray about it and it feels right, get it, and don’t be ashamed if people don’t give a positive response or any response at all!! I have a tattoo with great meaning. A dove flying out of a bird cage. I wanted to be set free from bad influences and drugs. A dove symbolizing what Jesus saw when he was baptized. I love it. ❤️I think it's all about wisdom perhaps it was so dangerous to get tats back then, especially when it used to symbolize worshipping other Gods. I will only get tattoos representing my faith. 🤍🤍🤍🤘🏻
@@Matt-28 they are sinful. But its more about the spiritual side of it. Satans agenda is to destroy the image of God. Tattoos are spirit led and spirit inspired. But not the Holy spirit, they are unclean spirits of rebellion. If people have had the tattoos already, or didn't know they are wrong and that the Lord hates what satan is doing, its ok, there is compassion for them because they didn't know . Even if its a tattoo of crosses or anything people consider to relate to their faith, its still wrong ,and its still a fruit of the flesh.

I’ve always wanted a tattoo since I was super young. As I became Christian and I started reading the Bible a lot, I came across that same verse that states "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you" and I his one verse basically scared me from the idea of getting a tattoo and my ears pierced. But, you have to know The Who, what, when, where, why, and how to really understand the information that Jesus is trying to provide. A couple days later I thought about getting a tattoo that is Christian related, which I now understand is okay! It’s like the quote “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”

Brother, I know this video was made for a good intention but i would like to add that in the end we are not living for ourselves but for Jesus. We must be dead to sin and alive in Christ this means we put off our fleshly desires to he extent that we live to fulfill His will, not ours. Tattooing our bodies as you said, "would tell the enemy how they can tempt us" and I agree with you on this. But Jesus did not tell us to face temptation but to *run* or *flee* *away* from temptation. That is because Matthew 26:47 reminds us that our spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, that it leads us to sin. We do not condemn those who have tattooed bodies because Jesus loves those who have tattoos just like He loves those who don't. But we are encouraged to always walk in the Spirit and to always seek Christ. Thank u bro with love and regards.

I’m that person with a huge mural on my back that is 3/4 of the way done. Not going to finish it because conviction hit me like a bolt of lightening while I was sleeping one night, and I promised God I wouldn’t get anymore. This was my 6th tattoo. I have no issue with tattoos as a Christian but for me personally, no more.
Brother, you should be sharing that testimony. Its very powerful. Its clear the Lord said no, he doesnt use one rule for you and a different for others, so you know his heart on this. He doesnt want us to graffiti our bodies, not you or anyone else on this earth. Its because people are led by spirits that are not the holy spirit, and even Christians can entertain the whispers and ideas of demons . Our whole lives are a spiritual battle. Don't be afraid of making a stand against tattoing.

@@taliyahs1918 I don’t think God has different ‘rules’ for different people per sé, but I definitely think His relationships with us are highly individualistic and personal, and therefore different. How you live your life should entirely depend on your faith in & relationship with God. I personally don’t have any tattoos and I doubt I ever will, but I don’t think it’s a sin or ‘wrong’ to have one at all. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit but do all temples look the same? Of course not. If God hasn’t convicted someone not to get a tattoo, then I don’t have anything to say about it. God can use ANYTHING to minister to other people, including tattoos. What if someone were to see a tattooed scripture on somebody else and were then moved by the Spirit to go search it up? God moves in mysterious ways. You just never know. This is wrong brother, let me be clear for everyone who is still questioning. Brothers and sisters, God has clearly said that the law was never abolish, but is being fulfilled. Matthew 5:17-20 17”Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. So God is clearly saying that the laws were never abolish. So when Christ died for us, he ended the law. But it doesn’t stop there. In romans 6:14 it says “Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.” So what does that mean, we no longer live under the requirements of the law, instead under Gods grace? The Lord Jesus fulfilled the Mosaic Law on behalf of all who would trust in His name as Saviour, so there is now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus.. for the law of the Spirit of life has set us free, in Him.. from the law of sin and death - and yet Jesus called us to keep His commandments!! So in this case, Christ died so that we are not justified by obeying the laws, we are justified by faith in Jesus! However, we do not become lawless, we do not throw away the laws because of Grace on the contrary, we establish it through faith! Romans 3:31 Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law. Galatians 3:13-14 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us-for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”- 14 so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith. So in this case, the law BECAME CHRIST, (the law always pointed to Christ, righteousness and holiness) and he is the curse. So instead of us putting our faith into works, Christ died, so we can put faith in him! Because Christ knew we couldn’t do it ourselves, so he instead sent his son so that we can go to him. After we accept Christ into our hearts, here’s what it says. Hebrews 10:16 “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” And that’s the fulfillment of the law, if we love God, and our brothers and sisters, we obey all of his laws. Because the Laws pointed to Christ! It showed holiness and righteousness. The laws are implied today to remind us that we cannot do it on our own, to convict us and to go to him. And when we go to him, IN FAITH we will follow and trust him and obey his laws. “A new commandment I give to you,' were some of the last words that the apostles heard before His crucifixion, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you,.. so love ye one another.' This new commandment to the church is a foundational principle upon which Christianity is founded - and if we truly love the Lord Jesus we will keep His commandments of love - so that the life we now live in the flesh is not of us - but Christ, living in us. Again, yes we are free! We sin, but that’s why God came to earth, so that we can be saved and have faith in him. Instead of having faith in the law. Yes you can point out that scripture, 1 Corinthians 10:23 "I have the right to do anything," you say--but not everything is beneficial. "I have the right to do anything"--but not everything is constructive. We need to understand the context before believing EVERYTHING IS PERMISSIBLE. Paul was intent was to counter that attitude. And also they were specifically talking about the dietary foods. They weren’t talking about the Moral Laws. It is also not good for us to worship God through our flesh, because Christ died so that we can sacrifice our flesh, to be in holy spirit. Remember when you accept Christ, you as well die with him on the cross. We become slaves of righteousness. But if you still don’t believe, Paul also says in Galatians 5:13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. So if you think Glorying God through your flesh will be okay, here’s another scripture. Romans 8:8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. And i’ll leave you with this; many people thinking doing the righteousness or glorifying God with tattoos is okay. It is not. Matthew 7:21-23 Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ So in this situation (really sad to say) but many people on that day will say “Lord Lord, didnt I get tattoos glorying your name?” We shouldn’t ask ourselves “I am doing this tattoo in faith knowing it will help others and preach Gods word” No, because you are basically putting your faith into the tattoo, instead of putting your faith in God. When putting your faith in God, we will turn away every flesh desire. Romans 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Brothers and sisters, God is coming sooner then we think. We must turn away from what we want to do, and turn to him and ask God what he wants us to do. When we allow the Holy Spirit to come into our lives, we must get rid of flesh desires. It says in scripture “For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.” Galatians 5:17 I love you all. It doesn’t seem like he believes that works will solely get someone into heaven and I don’t think he implied anywhere that getting tattoos in Gods name will somehow save you. I think his overall point was to say tattoos aren’t a sin.
@@joshchung6163 It’s not that we follow the works of the law but follow God. We put our faith in him! Disobeying God is a sin. And it clearly shows in the New Testament that Moses Laws are still active, alive to this day. And Jesus tells us that if we love him, and our neighbors, we ought to obey the him, and if we obey him, we are obeying the commandments that he fulfilled. Matthew 22:34-40 NIV “34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
The most important words you said was” You get to Heaven by believing in Jesus” He is dead wrong. Even Satan and the demons believe that Jesus is the Christ. We get to Heaven by believing in the Death, Burial, and resurrection on the third day. Believing we are saved by what Jesus accomplished “BY” the Cross is of utmost importance.

I think that firstly you have to ask yourself if it’s from the spirit or the flesh, because the flesh will call everything good when indeed it’s not, and I believe that we shouldn’t get tattoos because we’re supposed to be different from the world, we should be examples of the world, I believe that if someone sees you they should be able to say “ that’s a child of God” . We’re supposed to be light for those who are in the dark but not be like those in the dark .

I agree with all this. I have tats and when my dad passed in 2017 I was going to get one to commemorate him but the Holy Spirit told me that would be a dedication to “dead things”. Interestingly enough this week I was looking at a Jesus fish tattoo that has love written in it on my wrist that I’ve had for eons and thought of my dad for the first time because he was a fishermen. I never even thought of it before now but I already had my reminder of him the whole time.
Don't make the mistake to get tatoos just because he said tatoos aren't bad. Tatoos are bad and the Bible is clear about that even if it was if it was written in the old testament. It's still the Word of God. You don't need a tattoo to testify or to remember of the presence of God, the Holy Spirit does all the work. Please I beg you my brothers and sisters don't get tattoos. May God helps us to enderstand thé scriptures.

Would choosing to just put random art on ones body be considered following the flesh, or it being bad"? Say one wants to express themselves with art, say someone wants to get a matching tat with their partner for their unity, or someone wants to get a wolf, or some type of everyday thing we see around us inked on our skin. Would that be considered following the flesh?
How about NO?! Instead, how about lust? It impacts everyone.. Christ was never in (nor does He support) the business of singling out anyone or groups of people when it comes to sin, except hypocrites.
I got my last tattoo when I covered up scars on my arm from a suicide attempt. I still wish I would have succeeded and pray often that God would let me die. I lost all my joy when my wife died.
I remember wanting a tattoo years ago so bad for no other reason than thinking it would be cool if I had one. I went back and forth as to whether or not I should get it and really sought God. I prayed often about it but I basically made up my mind to get one. Wellll, very shortly after making up my mind, I was waiting at the bus stop to pick up my daughter when this elderly man randomly stops to talk to me. He spoke about his wife and how much he loved and cherished her & his life. I understand why you got yours, and that seems fine, and I get that getting a satanic symbol or something along the lines of that can be seen as "bad", but what if someone wanted to get a logo tattooed, or their kid's name, would that be fine or could that be seen in a negative way?

However, after you come to Christ it's a different story. God changes us from the inside out; He changes our hearts. When/m we truly abide in Him, we are no longer filled with wickedness of deceit, we are rather filled with a heart like Christ's. Therefore, I believe someone who is rooted in Christ will have a much better decision in a matter like this since their heart is no longer just in any dark, random place filled with any vile thing; Christ is in our hearts Just as a side note, in many of Christ's teachings, He was focused on the condition of our hearts (e.g lust in our hearts or anger in our hearts vs love in our hearts). So the content of your heart can be used to determine the kind of decisions you make and the kind of person you are.

Can I ask you this, there's a movie that's kind of a mafia version of Romeo and Juliet but it recalls the exact same lines as the play itself, in this movie the friar has this large tattoo on his back that's a cross and it has a bunch of graphic designs on it such as greenery and flowers and holy figures if I can recall correctly. I have 9 tattoos and I stopped once my relationship with God began to grow. The more I learned about him, the more I felt the conviction of God about them. I repented for getting them and I haven’t gotten a new one since. I believe we should present our bodies as a living sacrifice. Holy and accepted unto Christ. (Romans 12:1) It’s different for everyone but as for me I don’t want to become a stumblingblock for those who don’t believe or for those who are still babes in Christ.

So Cain then lied to God (another sin) when Cain denied all responsibility.

Here is something super sweet and wholesome: When I was born my dad was only 18 years old. But here are the words he said to me, “When I first got to hold you in my arms my whole world changed. I immediately was determined to do better for you.” He was and is my best friend since I was born. When I was 3 years old he tattooed my name on his arm. When he came home and showed me I was so excited. I still kinda remember little things about that day. I remember tracing the letters with my little fingers all the time. To this day that is still my favorite memory of my dad.
Loved this video! I’ve struggled a lot with this topic. I’m a 24 y/o guy and have wanted a tattoo for a very long time. Nothing crazy, just an idea that I sketched out and wanted to get with my siblings. My father is a very conservative baptist and has expressed how much he disapproves of this idea. We’ve gone back and forth and have both conceded and held our ground on a lot of things. All things considered, I’ve decided not to get it. Even though my intentions are good, I know doing so would hurt my relationship with my father, which would do more harm than good. I’m well aware that I am old enough, independent enough, and have the financial means to get one, but I just can’t bring myself to cause that kind of rift in my life. Maybe one day things will change but until then, this is my path.

Reminding them that yes, the building is a church because it’s their designated meeting point of worship but more importantly, the PEOPLE are the church. This is done to build them up and add gravity to the role they play as Christians interacting with each other as well as Christians who will be interacting with their local communities. They are of God so they must be holy and reflect HIS goodness. That’s all to say, I think using this verse to tell someone not to get a tattoo is diluting the meaning of God’s message here and focuses on stuff that is insignificant compared to our true purpose: loving God and loving people :)

You’re body is a supposed to be a vessel of the Holy Spirit... Would Christ tattoo himself? As far as making a connection to people at your work, you can do that in other ways than getting inked. Seems a little loose to me.
That being said, I have ink from my B.C. days, I wish I could take them back, although they are part of my testimony for people to see that Christ saves people from all walks of life. Lately I’ve felt sort of convicted when I wear short sleeves. I’ve stopped rolling up my sleeves when I get hot at church, but that’s just my conviction.
I just don’t feel the need to conform to the culture, just to make connections with people; and quite frankly I think it’s dangerous. but if In your experience it helped lead someone to saving faith, then who am I to judge.

I got a tattoo before I was saved, and I am so grateful that it has something to do with God. If it didn’t, I would have regretted it definitely. But after getting saved, I didn’t want anymore for a while. Lately though, I’m thinking about getting scripture tattooed but I don’t know if it would be right. I’ll pray about it. I would say though, that I love my tattoo because when people ask what it says, which is “there is no hiding place from the father of creation”, I can explain that it’s talking about God, and that you cannot hide from Him no matter where you go, just like Job in the Bible. So while I love it to spread the message of God, it also shows to me a lot of people do not believe the same thing. Which is important for me to see. I have a tattoo with great meaning. A dove flying out of a bird cage. I wanted to be set free from bad influences and drugs. A dove symbolizing what Jesus saw when he was baptized. I love it. ❤️I think it's all about wisdom perhaps it was so dangerous to get tats back then, especially when it used to symbolize worshipping other Gods. I’ve always wanted a tattoo since I was super young. As I became Christian and I started reading the Bible a lot, I came across that same verse that states "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you" and I his one verse basically scared me from the idea of getting a tattoo and my ears pierced. But, you have to know The Who, what, when, where, why, and how to really understand the information that Jesus is trying to provide. A couple days later I thought about getting a tattoo that is Christian related, which I now understand is okay! It’s like the quote “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”

Brother, I know this video was made for a good intention but i would like to add that in the end we are not living for ourselves but for Jesus. We must be dead to sin and alive in Christ this means we put off our fleshly desires to he extent that we live to fulfill His will, not ours.
Tattooing our bodies as you said, "would tell the enemy how they can tempt us" and I agree with you on this. But Jesus did not tell us to face temptation but to *run* or *flee* *away* from temptation. That is because Matthew 26:47 reminds us that our spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, that it leads us to sin.
We do not condemn those who have tattooed bodies because Jesus loves those who have tattoos just like He loves those who don't. But we are encouraged to always walk in the Spirit and to always seek Christ. Thank u bro with love and regards.

I’m that person with a huge mural on my back that is 3/4 of the way done. Not going to finish it because conviction hit me like a bolt of lightening while I was sleeping one night, and I promised God I wouldn’t get anymore. This was my 6th tattoo. I have no issue with tattoos as a Christian but for me personally, no more.
Brother, you should be sharing that testimony. Its very powerful. Its clear the Lord said no, he doesnt use one rule for you and a different for others, so you know his heart on this. He doesnt want us to graffiti our bodies, not you or anyone else on this earth. Its because people are led by spirits that are not the holy spirit, and even Christians can entertain the whispers and ideas of demons . Our whole lives are a spiritual battle.

@@taliyahs1918 I don’t think God has different ‘rules’ for different people per sé, but I definitely think His relationships with us are highly individualistic and personal, and therefore different. How you live your life should entirely depend on your faith in & relationship with God. I personally don’t have any tattoos and I doubt I ever will, but I don’t think it’s a sin or ‘wrong’ to have one at all. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit but do all temples look the same? Of course not. If God hasn’t convicted someone not to get a tattoo, then I don’t have anything to say about it. God can use ANYTHING to minister to other people, including tattoos. What if someone were to see a tattooed scripture on somebody else and were then moved by the Spirit to go search it up? God moves in mysterious ways. You just never know. Brothers and sisters, God has clearly said that the law was never abolish, but is being fulfilled.
Matthew 5:17-20
17”Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
So God is clearly saying that the laws were never abolish.
So when Christ died for us, he ended the law. But it doesn’t stop there.
In romans 6:14 it says “Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.”
So what does that mean, we no longer live under the requirements of the law, instead under Gods grace?
The Lord Jesus fulfilled the Mosaic Law on behalf of all who would trust in His name as Saviour, so there is now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus.. for the law of the Spirit of life has set us free, in Him.. from the law of sin and death - and yet Jesus called us to keep His commandments!!
So in this case, Christ died so that we are not justified by obeying the laws, we are justified by faith in Jesus! However, we do not become lawless, we do not throw away the laws because of Grace on the contrary, we establish it through faith!
Romans 3:31 Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.
Galatians 3:13-14
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us-for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”- 14 so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.
So in this case, the law BECAME CHRIST, (the law always pointed to Christ, righteousness and holiness) and he is the curse. So instead of us putting our faith into works, Christ died, so we can put faith in him! Because Christ knew we couldn’t do it ourselves, so he instead sent his son so that we can go to him. After we accept Christ into our hearts, here’s what it says.
Hebrews 10:16
“This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
And that’s the fulfillment of the law, if we love God, and our brothers and sisters, we obey all of his laws. Because the Laws pointed to Christ! It showed holiness and righteousness. The laws are implied today to remind us that we cannot do it on our own, to convict us and to go to him. And when we go to him, IN FAITH we will follow and trust him and obey his laws.
“A new commandment I give to you,' were some of the last words that the apostles heard before His crucifixion, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you,.. so love ye one another.' This new commandment to the church is a foundational principle upon which Christianity is founded - and if we truly love the Lord Jesus we will keep His commandments of love - so that the life we now live in the flesh is not of us - but Christ, living in us.
Again, yes we are free! We sin, but that’s why God came to earth, so that we can be saved and have faith in him. Instead of having faith in the law.

1 Corinthians 10:23
"I have the right to do anything," you say--but not everything is beneficial. "I have the right to do anything"--but not everything is constructive.
We need to understand the context before believing EVERYTHING IS PERMISSIBLE.
Paul was intent was to counter that attitude. And also they were specifically talking about the dietary foods. They weren’t talking about the Moral Laws.
It is also not good for us to worship God through our flesh, because Christ died so that we can sacrifice our flesh, to be in holy spirit. Remember when you accept Christ, you as well die with him on the cross. We become slaves of righteousness.
But if you still don’t believe, Paul also says in
Galatians 5:13
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
So if you think Glorying God through your flesh will be okay, here’s another scripture.
Romans 8:8
Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
And i’ll leave you with this; many people thinking doing the righteousness or glorifying God with tattoos is okay. It is not.
Matthew 7:21-23
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
So in this situation (really sad to say) but many people on that day will say “Lord Lord, didnt I get tattoos glorying your name?”
We shouldn’t ask ourselves “I am doing this tattoo in faith knowing it will help others and preach Gods word” No, because you are basically putting your faith into the tattoo, instead of putting your faith in God. When putting your faith in God, we will turn away every flesh desire.
Romans 12:2
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Brothers and sisters, God is coming sooner then we think. We must turn away from what we want to do, and turn to him and ask God what he wants us to do. When we allow the Holy Spirit to come into our lives, we must get rid of flesh desires.
It says in scripture “For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.” Galatians 5:17

It doesn’t seem like he believes that works will solely get someone into heaven and I don’t think he implied anywhere that getting tattoos in Gods name will somehow save you. I think his overall point was to say tattoos aren’t a sin.

And it clearly shows in the New Testament that Moses Laws are still active, alive to this day. And Jesus tells us that if we love him, and our neighbors, we ought to obey the him, and if we obey him, we are obeying the commandments that he fulfilled.
Matthew 22:34-40 NIV
“34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

We’re supposed to be light for those who are in the dark but not be like those in the dark .

I agree with all this. I have tats and when my dad passed in 2017 I was going to get one to commemorate him but the Holy Spirit told me that would be a dedication to “dead things”. Interestingly enough this week I was looking at a Jesus fish tattoo that has love written in it on my wrist that I’ve had for eons and thought of my dad for the first time because he was a fishermen. I never even thought of it before now but I already had my reminder of him the whole time.

Don't make the mistake to get tatoos just because he said tatoos aren't bad. Tatoos are bad and the Bible is clear about that even if it was if it was written in the old testament. It's still the Word of God. You don't need a tattoo to testify or to remember of the presence of God, the Holy Spirit does all the work.

I got my last tattoo when I covered up scars on my arm from a suicide attempt. I still wish I would have succeeded and pray often that God would let me die. I lost all my joy when my wife died.

I remember wanting a tattoo years ago so bad for no other reason than thinking it would be cool if I had one. I went back and forth as to whether or not I should get it and really sought God. I prayed often about it but I basically made up my mind to get one. Wellll, very shortly after making up my mind, I was waiting at the bus stop to pick up my daughter when this elderly man randomly stops to talk to me. He spoke about his wife and how much he loved and cherished her & his life. The conversation was pleasant and there was not one mention of tattoos, but when the convo ended and he walked away, he abruptly stops and turns to me to say, whatever you do, don’t mark your body!! I couldn’t believe it and I was in complete shock! Needless to say, I did not get a tattoo!! I say truly seek God about it and He will make it clear His decision for you. It was a no for me. Still in shock writing this and it’s 12 years later! God is good y’all!!!

Tattooing is a demonic spiritual influence. But to see this, you have to see it through the eyes of Christ. It doesn't matter if the scriptures are the tattoo, it is still morally wrong. A lot of Christians are still in the dark about this.
I appreciate your video, but you didn't mention anything about the Holy spirit. The holy spirit will give the same answer and verdict to every single person. The answer doesn't change. We have to consider the deceit in everything too. Like how you explained that you got your own tattoos for others to see. But this was your own thinking and doing. Its not whats outside us or on our skin that attracts others to us, but the holy spirit within us and his power and beauty that draws others to us.
We are like beautiful buildings (temples)...we wouldn't graffiti a beautiful building would we?

This is quite lengthy but please read and carefully consider what I've said. I want to start by giving a little background. Initially, I was against tattoos. I detested them as well as the people who had them because I had always grown up being taught that they were evil and were only done by criminals or the 'bad people' in society.
This was way before I came to Christ. When I did come to Christ, I read the Bible for myself and I believe God led me to a different conclusion altogether. Instead of pushing that conclusion on you though, I want to show you my thought process while making some comments on your comment so that you can prayerfully consider this too. That being said, if there is something I'm misinterpreting, please let me know. It's the truth we all want in the end.

Amen, I do agree God's fundamental truths do not change because of what we might feel. The human heart is desperately wicked and deceitful according to Jeremiah 17:9. However, most people omit the verse 10 which says
"But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” [NLT]
Why is God still going to search hearts if every heart is desperately wicked and deceitful? I believe the answers can be found in some verses including (but not restricted to) Ezekiel 36:26 and Ephesians 3:17

The thing is, I believe Jeremiah 17:9 is referring to the 'default mode' that all human beings have. We tend to be selfish, self-centred creatures, we plot evil against other people and deceive them too. That's the order of the flesh since sin is inherent in all of us. However, after you come to Christ it's a different story.
God changes us from the inside out; He changes our hearts. When/m we truly abide in Him, we are no longer filled with wickedness of deceit, we are rather filled with a heart like Christ's.
Therefore, I believe someone who is rooted in Christ will have a much better decision in a matter like this since their heart is no longer just in any dark, random place filled with any vile thing; Christ is in our hearts
Just as a side note, in many of Christ's teachings, He was focused on the condition of our hearts (e.g lust in our hearts or anger in our hearts vs love in our hearts). So the content of your heart can be used to determine the kind of decisions you make and the kind of person you are.

Can I ask you this, there's a movie that's kind of a mafia version of Romeo and Juliet but it recalls the exact same lines as the play itself, in this movie the friar has this large tattoo on his back that's a cross and it has a bunch of graphic designs on it such as greenery and flowers and holy figures if I can recall correctly. I don't know necessarily if this is a pass or if it's a sin but please let me know if it is or not, because I was thinking about doing something similar or doing it with angel wings on my back and I don't know exactly if that would be a sent or not because I'd love to do it out of Faith because I feel like a heavy sinner and it hurts me deeply that even though I didn't do too much that could hurt me religiously it really does weigh down on me
I think due to what the video is saying if you’re getting this tattoo to show faith to the Lord then it’s a good idea. If you are struggling with feeling like a sinner then maybe it would be a good idea, because you would be able to constantly be reminded that as close as the tattoo on your body is, Jesus is just as close

Our body is God’s temple that must be holy and acceptable unto Him. If tattoos were acceptable unto Him, I think we would’ve been born with them. Also, we are to put a difference between holy and unholy, clean and unclean, etc. Tattoos make us look like the world. However, I see you pov and i did agree until the Lord strongly convicted me about my tattoo

We’re not supposed to do anything that would be for our own vanity if I’m not mistaken ... but I still struggle with that as sometimes I wear fake hair to make myself look “better”, I wear some makeup etc. So I’m not the perfect person to be telling you what to do. But try to reason with yourself what it’s really for. Like if you want to look cool to other people, or if you think it’s a harmless way of expressing yourself. And then take that and ask yourself what God would think about your reason
This was perfect for me I a 16 and looking at getting two tattoos one for me to remember my grandparents and my aunt that died of cancer and a farming accident on my left ribs
And one on my wrist with a cross with Jeremiah 24:11 or or my grandpa favorite saying was I have a big GOD
