When you dropped it low at the 3 minute mark i had to go back and listen again- holy moly what a bop! I could listen to this all day!!! And then you guys split that unison into octaves near the end I didn't think it could get any better, but that final harmony part had me in tears. Shot of straight serotonin! I want to make music like this!
Thanks Amanda! These collabs actually take quite a bit of time to arrange a d complete, but comments like yours make the effort worthwhile. Good luck with your music 👍
Came back for another listen - that didgeriedoo effect around 55 seconds is so cool sounding! What a nifty color! And that bouncy back beat around 2 minutes is so fun - so bouncy and free it makes me dance before i can catch myself. I love this.
@@OdinOddly You got me listening to it again too, for the first time since we recorded the video. I'd forgotten some bits - the low rhythm is nice, as you say. Thanks for your positive vibes Amanda 🙂
Brendan you know that I follow you and for a long time, I love you and the way you play BUT this song with Tijn (that I didn't know at all) is probably one of your best UA-cam video ...Both of you are complimenting each other perfectly, I usually don''t like the harmonica duets, too much bees and mosquitos for my taste, but this one !!!! It's amazing how musical that is....I loved so much after the break the harmonisation between you too, the unison at the octave ....In one word EVERYTHING...If one day I get less fucking lazy I might work a lot on that one.....THANK YOU to you two for this moment of happiness ....
Wow Christelle, I'm blown away by your generous reaction, it means a lot coming from you 🙏 Actually it helps, because to be honest all I hear are the imperfections - you know what that's like! We did it quite fast in single takes in different countries, and as a result it's a bit messy. But your reaction and the other positive ones here tell me to stop analysing every fault so much! I know what you mean about harmonica duets: I said exactly the same to Tijn when he got in touch to suggest doing one together. Generally I'm not mad on them either, but glad l got over that and just did it! This Covid lockdown has the silver lining of making people connect more around the world 🤗
I play outlaw country harp in a band and I'm constantly looking for inspiration. I started listening to you about two years ago. A couple months ago I decided to learn a bit of Irish because you stated in a video that it would help players expand on their melodic abilities. I learned kesh jig and it brought out a lick that I can and do use on cross harp. Man you weren't kidding . Great bit of advice. So I listen to you a lot...mostly in a state of plain ol dumbfounded. I found Tijn's music through you. What you played here is mind boggling to me. Thank you for music that's incredibly soulful and complex. You guys bring the instrument to a whole new level. So brilliant.
Ah the magic of Irish music beautifully played by two masters of their harmonicas .Take a bow lads ,ye make me feel happy out 👏👏👏👏Isn't that what music is supposed to do to you
Wow, power duo right here! I didn't expect that this collab would happen, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Tijn's style and repertoire suits yours quite well.
Brendan the way you use the slide is crazy!!!. I must confess i like it and i try to play like you sometimes... The other guy is Great too!! Thanks for this video
Thanks Hal, good to hear from you 🤗 Nothing too fancy in terms of harmonicas: Tijn is playing standard G chrom in Solo Tuning, and I'm playing a G Slide Diatonic in Paddy Solo. Tunes are in Em and Am. Hope that helps 👍
Excellent!! PS Thank you for the “harmonica and ipad #3” video from a few days ago. I bought an Irig2, and when you have time, could you answer a few questions i had asked on that video site? Thanks for your great contribution to the harp community!!
Most excellent, I'm sure many people would like to follow your lead - are you willing to share (or do a video) on how you and Tijn made this work? I'm sure it's a tricky process but you have really hit on something here. I don't know if it's already common practice but that's my first view of it. Also would you like to be a guest on my live Sunday show sometime?
Thank for the invite Ben, I'd like that. I can describe it then in more detail, but the basic idea is that you both record/film to the same backing track, which keeps you in sync.

As usual, fabulous music……annoys me intensely that some folks can be so talented!! Thanks for the great tunes……

BrendanPowerMusic Great! Thx!
Wonderful stuff!!
If something will break the Corona evil spell on planet earth, it would be this video! Thanks
Glad you like it Zvika! 👍
Note perfect!
Tbh it's a bit tough and ready by Irish standards, but glad it's making people happy 🤗
BrendanPowerMusic Wow! Irish standards must be high, sounded brilliant to me

@@BrendanPowerMusic Perfect, I'll email you about that.
Do a repeat of your SPAH performance of many years ago with Rodrigo Eberienos!
Nice idea Fernando - I remember that was fun. With James Conway too I think 👍🤗
Brendan. Is that your mk2 slide diatonic? Can you order it with the black plates? Or is that a custom job?
Beautifully played! Which harps are you playing?
