    Well, if that isn't a very handy little gadget. Yolobox isn't the only 'big' player in this space anymore. I welcome more competition (and hopefully lower prices too). Thanks for the great review,

    Great video ! this made me clear how to use some of the functions i want to get used to ! also in a compact not too tiresome way, because with too much information i can't concentrate, i do would like to see detailed videos on the seperate functions, the Director Mini has, it's a great device, with just all the options one needs i guess, otherwise one needs a more bigger device, that's more for greater productions, so i think the Director Mini from Magewell has it's things just right for those who need this, your video shows this in a good fashion.

    Question: does any Mevo NDI PTZ camera comes with a license ? because when i started to "discover" NDI this license "thing" was holding me back of thinking to use it at all…
    is this included license a "ticket" to use it anywhere, or has it limitations ?

    Another question: with that DM phone app, could someone simply be in control of the scoreboard changing scores on the fly and nothing else, so that when they adjust the numbers it shows up in the feed live? And they don't have to do anything else?

    • @IEBATechThoughts

      I believe that is the intent. I have not tried it with remote scoreboard so I can't say what remote control is currently integrated

    What would you recommend for streaming sports, let's say a soccer game or football? The Magewell or Yolobox Ultra? It would be connected via 5g, either through hotspot on phone or sim directly into the yolobox ultra. In that scenario what do you recommend? Is updating the scores easy on the magewell? Does Magewell support vertical streaming as well?

    • @StreamTeknology
      @StreamTeknology  4 місяці тому

      The Magewell does not have an internal sim card slot, the YoloBox does. Also, if there's a big audience there, YoloBox offers bonding across multiple connections, which the Magewell does not at this date. The Magewell does do vertical. I have not tested the scoreboard on the Magewell.

    Curious...if taking in a Zoom call from the PC with three people on the call, one being me, how would you bring that to the DM? Through one of the usb inputs? And then to get them into a video scene, so i can add graphics, borders etc, i would add as a source from one of the webcam inputs? How would i just get their video feeds and not include mine from zoom as i would be adding in mine via hdmi? Or would I have to use the zoom feed for all three and ne stuck with however zoom has us laid out?

    • @StreamTeknology
      @StreamTeknology  3 місяці тому

      I would recommend sharing the zoom screen and audio via HDMI into the DM.
      Your return audio to zoom would be with a separate mic into the computer.

    • @StreamTeknology

      Great question! The DM is on loan for review, so I haven't had an opportunity to actually produce a show on it and critically assess the deliverables- I hope to do that soon. The DM has much deeper operational and integration capabilities, but the YoloBox is easier to set up multiviews with just a few taps. So, while I might enjoy using the DM more, it takes a bit more effort and time to get all the integration into the studio set up.

      @@StreamTeknology was posted to the group: Frank Zhu, When will we be able to save our lower thirds/overlays so we don’t have to recreate them with EVERY Update plus Factory Reset?
      It shouldn’t be hard to do.
      Save to SD Card/SSD and reload after Update and Factory Reset?
      Or even better, save as part of program settings so that “Duplicate” function includes the lower thirds/overlays.

    I would like to see this Mini not sat on a desk with wires neatly tucked away but in more a 'real use' example. For example in a outdoor location (sports event for example) mounted on top of a main camera, with a second camera attached to the tripod for a wide shot, anda radio mic reciever plugged in all being controlled by a presenter standing in front of the main camera using a mobile phone to switch, which is also being used as a third camera. Not using the local network but the internal hotspot. I would like to see how neat the wires and sockets are in use and if the unit is practical in that scenario. Especially if it drops any frames when streaming. Finally a USBC to HDMI output which would run to an external monitor or bigscreen. Sitting neatly on a desk is not really 'real use', surely this example is more how the unit was intended to be used.

      "I would like to see how neat the wires and sockets are in use and if the unit is practical in that scenario."
      Put ion a magic arm on a tripod, with wired going into all three sides and it'll look like a device with a lot of wires.
      That won't change the functionality which will be the exact same functionality as when it's on the desk with the wires nearly tucked away. It won't change "dropped frames while streaming" because it's not on a desk. The videos I do with this, where you see the Director's multiview- are done with the USB-C to HDMI you mention, as well.
      So the only difference would be how it looks. It's going to have the same functionality either way.

      @@StreamTeknology ah I see. So you actually haven’t taken it outside the studio in a practical example to see if form meets function. You are the brands dream user in that case if you only ever ‘test’ a mobile unit in the studio. Not to worry. Thankfully there are others happy to share their ‘in use’ experience and if I get one as a result, I’ll certainly do the same.

      @@StreamTeknology Thank you. Are you saying I can or cannot I can't import the Zoom App into the director mini? Side note: as an instructor who works mainly on zoom these days, it is being very hard to tell from you, and the other major channels, which compact minimal needed set to select, between the Atem mini pro + computer, the Yolo box products, and the Director Mini. Examples you guys give are 100% geared to YT, FB, etc. (The current cameras are relatively easy to sort). You must have your reasons for that.

    • @StreamTeknology
      @StreamTeknology  5 місяців тому +1

      @@YudronWangmo Yes, because these devices are designed primarily for live streaming via UA-cam, Facebook etc. That's their focus.
      They've recently added "UVC webcam out" but that's not for zoom. It's for ANY computer based need. You want zoom, someone else needs Teams, someone else needs webex, etc. UVC just means it presents a "driver-free" webcam-like connection to a computer.
      Zoom, itself, also only allows certain things to happen, so trying to do the same "hook" between two apps running on a tablet takes a lot of under-the-hood extra work, for maybe 5% of the potential market of users. Not to mention it can break any time Zoom, et al, makes an update to their app, or API, forcing re-engineering the whole thing.
      The Instream has a Zoom app on it. But its vertical, and I know most users use Zoom horizontal, so that doesn't seem to match up either.
      IMHO, Zoom on a computer. Period. I'll be updated constantly, but will accept whatever UVC camera feed you give it, from ATEM, Yolo, or Magewell. Then pick the tool that best creates the broadcast you're looking to feed into zoom.

      @@StreamTeknology Thanks for laying it all out like that. If this is a semi perm installation in an attractive non-office space, with space at a premium, would a low-end PC mini cpu with any display do? Would I really need a keyboard,?

    • @StreamTeknology
      @StreamTeknology  5 місяців тому +1

      @@YudronWangmo Zoom is always an unknown, will they force a re-login after an update? will you need to type a password? Then I'd suggest a keyboard. A laptop that can run zoom, or even a Surface tablet with USB input could suffice.
      I use a Surface tablet as my interface from my YoloBox to Restream - because Restream gives me 6 destinations, as well as being able to pull comments from Linked In, which the YoloBox does not do. As a used computer, it was around $200, and allos me to access a keyboard and on-screen items with my finger, so I have the tablet up on an arm.
      Check out my next live show and you'll see me using it.
