Last year on the very first day of October I wrote a song called “Another Land” that kickstarted me down a very unexpected path of deep self-reflection inspired by music. And so what originally began as a concept to make a single song intended to encapsulate the notion of sending a message to a special someone whom I wished to bring back from the other side in yet another depressive episode gradually grew to become a collection of ethereal life songs wherein I was forced to confront my past, face myself, and openly bare my own formerly hidden scars for the first time to the world. So many of us seek to break free from the rabid chains of our pasts that bind us and, as much as I like to deny it, the reality is I too have always sought the same. And so I present “Astronaut”, my first official album, as one of my greatest milestone achievements to date: An honest collection of life songs delivered with the hope that the stories of loss, self-reflection, and aspiration told throughout this album may stand as a symbol of strength empowering others like me to confront their pasts, open up about deep-rooted personal struggles, and effectively begin to break the shackles of self-isolation that accompany the strife of battling seemingly unshakeable demons for so long.
