Spider-Man 2 Movie Game Still has the Fastest Web Swinging. Whenever I played Spider-Man 2 the movie game I always aimed to reach the highest speed possible. Hell the pizza delivery missions goaded the player to swing as fast as they could. You could just tell that the developers made the game with fast web swinging in mind. And there hasn't been a Spider-Man game that his come close to Spider-Man 2's swinging speeds. Not even the most recent Insomniac entrees even come close. Which is totally understandable because if their version of Spidey swung that fast it would lead to building textures and padestrians disappearing. As we know opening world games are constantly loading in data when you explore their expansive maps. So its gonna take some powerful hardware to match Spider-Man 2 the game's speed without compromising visuals. Here's hoping Marvel's Spider-Man 2 supercedes that on the PS5! Til then Spider-Man 2 the game still holds the fastest web swinging speeds.
Pizza Deliveries tested your web swinging skills without flipping, otherwise the pizzas get ruined. The Challenge races tested your abilities too. I love this game.

@@tonyybands4493honestly though, this would be cool. Since Spiderman 2 took the web of shadows route, it would've been really cool to see insomniac add wall combat. I would've loved break dance combat mechanics while fighting a symbiote or a boss on the side of a building.

I loved the music in this game when I was a kid my grandma asked me to teach her how to play I tried but when you born in the 40s there definitely is a learning curve but the fun we had negated any problems.

Not true, web of Shadows have one swinging speed the whole game, there's no improving system. It's the fastest tho and the best.
Spider emblems only give you more hp

@@timothy.2401 Pretty sure you're confusing web of Shadows with Spider-man 2 or 3 or different game, web of Shadows doesn't have any system of improving swinging speed, you're fast as feck from beginning and the speed doesn't change, you get more hp and you improve fighting skills, but swinging is consistent for the whole game :) I've been playing the game every year for almost 15 years so i think I know it pretty well ;)
I loved this game purely for the tutorials voiceover. Bruce Campbell is beyond hilarious when he’s trying to explain things to the player for different mini games, challenges and scenarios.
Facts. The fast swinging was fun too.

That was the best version of all, the Xbox version is native 480p and has better graphics, per object motion blur, better reflections on the webs of the suit...what a beast machine that was.
Manu Xbox games was, specially playing on the Xbox 360 with 1080p.
I can now say that you can go that fast even faster with the upgrades

Spiderman 2 movie game web swinging was pretty fun, those pizza delivery missions were hard but fun to test out how fast you could web swing
Spider-Man 2 for the PS5 let’s you travel the city much faster when you use certain techniques, but there is no denying that the OG Spider Man 2 game has the fastest base swinging ever.
I never played Spider-Man 2 on PS2 when I was a kid because I had only PC which received a shitty version of it but yesterday I decided to play it via emulator and man... For the game that's nearly 20, the web swinging feels so good. The game isn't perfect when it comes to the missions and combat but swinging across the city is like the most enjoyable thing ever in it.

Yeah in Web of Shadows you can literally go so fast in it that the game has to manually stop you because you surpass the render speed.
this, i think it broke my old 360 since that was the last game i played before the insides were damaged beyond repair.i went so fast by level...8-9 i think? to the point the game froze multiple times just to load up the big city and enemies.

I finally picked up spider-man 2 (Original Xbox) on January 1st, and it has been SOO GOOD
Spiderman 2 really has become the fastest at this point, going 500 to 1000 meters in half a minute is just incredible.

Swinging on Spiderman ps4 felt absolutely unsatisfying. It never felt like I was really in control.
Even spiderman 3 (Both next gen and old gen) web swinging felt more satisfying compared to the newest game. And spiderman 2 and ultimate spiderman's web swinging were great.
Yeah not as good 3, WoS, or Ultimate but it's almost there though. Needs to be more physics based and let you control it more.

Web of Shadows has faster speed than Spiderman 2. You can go so fast the game has no time to load in the city, and it just stops you in your tracks.
I wonder if this generation's game designers can mask the hardware limitations on speed with some kind of blurring effect, making it look like our vision needs time to adjust while the environmental details load.

Personally I feel the new Spider-Man 2s speed is fast enough. You can go pretty damn fast near the end. Any faster just seems like it would be TOO FAST.
Ultimate Spider-Man uses the same engine as Spider-Man 2 The Videogame, so, the speed in that game is the same.
Also, the fastest one is definitely Web Of Shadows.
ultimate spiderman is not the same speed as spiderman 2 PS2; jamie fristom in some podcast talked about how they had to slow the swinging down to increase visual fidelity (which is also why it looks a lot better)

Spider-Man 2 was a great game.. loved the ragdoll on enemies, had some brutal finishes. Even Spider-Man had ragdoll and there were many brutal moments from that too lol..
As we can see from the recent showcase, you can reach those speeds, but with the flight suit.
Spider-Man 3 on psp is pretty fast too if u got the upgrade and just swing properly

Apparently, Insomniac’s upcoming Spider-Man 2 will have much faster swinging, and the reason it didn’t have it before was because of the limitations of the PS4’s hardware. But Spider-Man 2 is PS5 only, and that means crazy fast load times, which means crazy fast swinging and gliding.

I remember being so disappointed in the 2004 PC version of SM2 - no free web swinging at all! You were literally required to click these specific ‘web targets’ placed for you along specific boulevards the devs wanted you to swing through for that segment of gameplay. Ofc I completed the story a couple times and was very young without a console, so I didn’t know this was a PC-release-only issue, but I did end up playing 2002 SM on PC way more due to its free swing lol anyone remember this?
I personally don’t really remember playing it since I mainly only watched my cousin play it and it looked difficult but way more rewarding and skill based compared to insomniac spiderman although insomniac Spider-Man is still a great game it could use some tips

I know you haven’t played web of shadows. That game clears sm2 in speed and mechanics. Only difference is web of shadows doesn’t always hav webs stick to buildings but I can live with that because it’s fun as hell. Peak even.

And also the control you have over the Web swinging. If you hit a building or touch the ground it's your fault for not minding your surroundings or not knowing the map. Treyarch was ahead of their time this game was revolutionary for it's time and still remembered today that's how impactful it was. it's sad how activision treated them when Activision no longer wanted to published copyright ip's such as marvel and etc and pretty much downgraded Treyarch into just only workin on call of dookie games.

With how realistic games are starting to look now a days swinging that fast would probably just look goofy
You can actually go fast in the ps4 spider-man but it's a bit tricky to do, you just need to build enough momentum to boost you off after the swing like jumping from tall building, then try not to hold the web too long, stay low and release it before you reach the highest swing point, don't forget to press X after releasing for more boost. Also combine it with web zipline to get more faster and maintain control. I aced every time trial mission with that trick
Best game ever, the amount of love and energy I have for this game is amazing, sad that I don't play it anymore I'm trynna to find a way but can't find harddrive for Xbox
