Thank you for such an informative video, especially as I did exactly what you said and was worried about the gourd ‘moulding’. Luckily we didn’t throw them out so now they will hopefully become a crafty project in the New Year!
Thank you for the information. My wife and I are on our second round of gourds now. My Grandpa used to grow birdhouses and let all us grandkids paint them. I'm amazed at the different varieties available and my wife really enjoys having a natural canvas to craft with. We both enjoy your videos as well.
In Colorado, the vines have frozen with our first frost this week. I did cut the gourds off the night before the temps dropped to 30F. Will these still dry properly? I am worried about letting them dry outside with the temps staying at or below freeing for the next week so is it better to dry them in a shed where it will stay at or above freezing?
Freezing is not a problem at all, unless you're planning to save seeds. They freeze, they thaw, they freeze again, it doesn't matter. They'll dry just fine.
My kids wanted to try and make a bird house with a swan neck gourd. But after watching your video I don't think our temperatures here in South Texas will allow it to try correctly. Any thoughts?
Hmm... I wonder what I said that gave you that impression? There are lots of gourd growers in Texas. Gourds are a tropical plant, after all. You have heat to contend with, and I don't have a lot of info on that...

Grew corsican gourds this year. They are nice and gross looking now😅

Can you dry them, by baking, if you’re impatient?
I've never tried that. I'm doubtful....
