I am Aun. I got approx 70k $ in funding from UC Davis for my master's as a research assistant along with 2900$ stipend per month with a full-time job in my lab summers for 3 months ($5800/month). They also accepted me PhD after 4months of my master's.
This is very motivating Aun, thanks a lot for sharing this with all of us. Could you also please share your field of masters along with your experience and other details prior to applying for a masters?
@@talhaomer167 My master's is in Civil Engineering. I used to work at NLC Headquarters (Armed Forces org) and gave the idea to develop Pakistan's first (I never saw any other efficient registration system in our field) online portal for the registration of contractors with 2-way communication within the portal (message box) with help from a software engineer in NLC. through this, we were able to bypass all the hard copy processes (loss of company profiles or lack of intent to work). Now only within 1 week, you can register your company in this organization. This automated the whole process and also brought transparency. I had a strong academic background with a bronze medal in engineering. In headquarters, I was exposed to revising Standard operating procedures for the organization, reviewing construction contracts, bidding on projects, and attending legal cases. I have also experience working on the site. I only had an experience of 3 years (rounded up). My recommendation letter was from my assistant manager.
Did you have an exceptional profile, like some undergrad research work or something like that? What helped you land this opportunity?

I have 3.01 cgpa with two years of experience as electrical engineer which include six months of internship. My Ielts is 6.5 with no publication or research, any chance for ms funding ?
If not, then if i do gre will there be any chance for ms funding ?
So with GRE you can get eligible for some funding at certain schools (for example UT Dallas Jindal school and many others) but if you really want to open up a lot of options for funding then GRE + research + publications + strong recommendations will give you multiple times more options. With good GRE you can get the Fulbright scholarship as well.

Well if you do it on your own then you will have to spend a lot more time and do in depth research in order to get the most out of it. With a known professional you will save a lot of your sweat
I've 3.11 cgpa in BS in bioscience with 1 publication, IELTS 7.0 and 2 research experiences. I wanna apply directly to PhD to achieve funding.

I have a publication and have an experience of 6 years in public sector. I am an average student and amlooking for PhD in economics. I scored 145 in verbal and 149 in quant last year. Do I have any chance or I need to improve my score (which I think is very difficult task).

As long as you have research published especially in a good place along with a few citations (citations are a huge plus) you shouldnt be retaking the GRE
Sir the thing that served as a big barrier was bank statement or proof of funds. For instance, my first semester fee for masters was USD 9000 which I was ready to pay but I was asked to show a bank statement of USD 36,000 for i-20 form which was not possible for me. Is it some way that the proof of funds is reduced by uni for ease in visa acquisition?
You can contact the school regarding this and maybe they can lower the requirement if there is room for them

Hello. You should definitely check out usnews to find programs and then check individual website to select the ones that suit your goals. Also do check if GRE is required for them. If GRE is required or is optional then you must take GRE
Mostly GRE is not required for clinical psychology programs but is required for other psychology programs

@@mdarsal9044 GRE will help you if your program says that it is GRE optional. Then you should take GRE. But if it says GRE is not required then you shouldn't waste time on GRE. Also if you have publications 2-3 in international places then that is a HUGE plus in your application.
