I had 3 boys now 35, 30 and 26 but remember the days when they were growing up, it was like shovelling food into 3 bottomless pits. The other downside is when they go it takes forever to scale back on the cooking, I still struggle with it now and end up with tons of leftovers as I forget I'm not feeding a hoard of locusts anymore 😂

I have three boys so I feel the financial pain! I tend to stick to meat, veg, potato dinners most evenings or pasta. Especially during the week. I try and cook more so there is leftovers for lunches. I also do a dessert. It helps prevent the evening fridge raiders! At the weekend it's mostly freezer food for lunch and dinner. I cut back on all the extra snacks in the fridge to try and help the budget. I would love to see a video of you making any of the salads from the salad book. Mine is gathering dust... 🤦‍♀️Your son is right Aldi skin on fries are the best 👍 wish they did a bigger bag though! I have to try the laundry products x

I had 3 boys in 5 years and wow did they have appetites growing up ! They all did sports and they seemed like they were always hungry, we said they had hollow legs ! All grown up now and doing well . When they were in there teens I had another little boy and he was totally different, a really picky eater 😂

Great Haul Vicky ❤it’s just me and my husband with 2 Staffs (dogs) and 3 cats 🐈‍⬛ it costs £4 a week to feed the dogs 🐶 as they eat bits and pieces of our food too like pasta 🍝 peas beans fish etc and £3 a week in dental sticks 😂 but the cats it’s £5.25 a fortnight for their biscuits and £4.35 a week in wet food plus £3 for their dreamies 😂 so it costs us more too feed cats 🐈‍⬛ than 2 stocky staffs 😂
When I used too have my nephews thro the 6 weeks holidays our food bill would quadruple we had too buy certain foods we usually didnt buy 😂 and too top it off my 14 yo nephew is celiac so it’s like £2.55 for a 12” margarita pizza 🍕 or £3.95 for a 12” pepperoni pizza 🍕 it’s rediculous it’s £2.25 for a box of wheat free or free from cereal he can only drink soya milk too 😢😢😢 but I know they can bloody eat 😂 my 17 yo nephew can eat a 16” pizza on his own 😂 in one sitting and he’s 6ft2 and 11st so not a big lad compared too his dad who is 6ft10 and 16st (but they don’t see him he’s a waste of breathe) love Claire from Bradford West Yorkshire. Xx
Ps it will get easier when u start asking for something towards their up keep 😊 my mum now gets £30 a week of my 17yo nephew as he now as a good job and doesn’t go college as yet as he left school in year 10 due too bullies on his school bus emptying his school bag and pouring bottle after bottle of fizzy drinks over his homework or over his head if that’s the mood the bullies were in 😡😡😡 so one day he got off the school bus and walked the 7 miles too my mums house where he is currently living and has for the past 2.5 years since he turned 15 yo as he asked his mum (my sister) to pick between him and her boyfriend and my sister been the bitch she is chose her boyfriend over her son (she had a good beating of me for it) love Claire from Bradford xx

I have three. Girl aged 16, 15 year old boy and 12 year old girl. Honestly, they don't eat masses. Cereal and fruit for breakfast. Packed lunches for school and then we all sit down for an evening meal as a family. There are snacks if required but I find I have to remind my lot to eat as they are too busy with other stuff! I don't know how we'd manage with kids that ate huge amounts! Perhaps girls are different but my 15 year old boy seems to be the same as the girls at the moment.

Aldi do some frozen chips in a blue bag, little bit dearer than normal ones but they are delicious, I cook them in air fryer... I love the smoke barbecue rub from aldi. I have 5 boys all grown up now but yes it was harder when they were teenagers and always hungry I used to buy in bulk, but it's a hard habit to get out of and also to reduce the amount you cook

I have a 13 year old son, o my gosh, the amount he eats is insane. He is 5ft 7 size 11 shoes and 11.5 stone.
He eats non stop. He has a serious heart condition which leaves him permanently anaemic. He is on iron tablets, folic acid etc but we need to give him foods high in iron. In his head this means he has to eat lots of steak. T-bone and fillets are his favourite, so a few of these aweek.from the butcher cost a lot of money and then all the other food he eats. But our boys are worth it x

😂😂 that definitely is a boy thing with shovelling food into them …. They must have hollow legs.
I have a 18 year old daughter and nope she definitely is a small eater…. Little and often I say but she does have severe intolerance to wheat and milk and my goodness ‘free from’ items are eye watering pricey….. that definitely puts a huge dent in my budget

I would be so embarrassed to have to ask my teenage daughters to contribute to the house they are 20 19 and 17 almost. That said i provide the basics bread butter cerals egg cheese meal fruit veg etc but not excessive amouts of treat or things i consider ridulously over priced and wouldnt buy for myself. They then buy their own convience foods and takeaways as there is just no way i could 30.00 pounds per carry out. I think this works best for us as they work and study . I also do not need to try and keep up with there forever changing fads so win win px

Great food shop there & you picked up some good reduced items as well. We don't have any children ( our own choice ) but our food shopping bill isn't cheap !!, I'm like you I like to cook from scratch so lots of fresh veg/ fruit / meat then add your household products/ toiletries/ cupboard in to the mix & boom!!, obviously not as expensive as your family of 5 tho!! But not cheap. Even some weeks when I think I maybe don't need much ( I alwats have a food shop list with me & meal.plan) get to the check our & ots like how much !!!! Those prawns look like good value. And using a whole chicken is good idea, no waste I had 2 bags of chicken bones in the freezer from the last frw times I've roasted a while chicken so I mafe stock yesterday with them so today used the stock made a leek & potato soup with it, was so nice, a nice cheap meal , had crusty bread with it & some chicken nuggets!!
