- On a recent stop on the All-Stars Tour, Kellin Quinn (vocals) and Jesse Lawson (guitar) of SLEEPING WITH SIRENS took time out to speak with BareBonesMusic.com. Evil G. discussed with the guys their new album, LET'S CHEER TO THIS" (Rise Records), reaction from fans, working on their first tour to support the record, how the songs are more representative of what the band wants to be and the progression from the last record, " With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear." The guys also reveal some of their favorite tracks from the record and which one's are making it into their current live set, the addition of new guitarist Justin Hills and some interesting road stories. Kellin thanks the fans, talks about his beatbox skills, fills us in on the bands road plans and what they look forward to on their first trip to Europe. PLUS live performance footage!
Did we ever say going softer is us maturing? No, were saying that it's not necissary to play heavy music for the sake of being a part of a heavy label.. Doesn't mean we won't write heavy music! Sleeping with Sirens is a band that can do anything! -kellin

@kellinquinn no matter what, you guys are amazing, and the people who don't realize it, aren't true fans. Those who support you will be there, and love whatever you guys decide to put out. I for one, love the new album. You guys have a great sound, no matter what you're doing. Sleeping With Sirens really can do anything! :)

I'm gonna miss their old style too, but I think they wanted to have a chance to use Kellins voice in another range other than just screaming. Kellin's voice is too unique to use just for screaming (even though he's great at it)

@xbdo777x I think what they mean by saying they have matured and changed their sound is that they have grown and figured out more of who they really are as a band and as musicians. It's not that heavier sounding music is immature. They have matured in the sense that they now know who they are and are playing the music they want to.

EXACTLY. As they grew up their music variates have expanded and ofcourse they're going too change but they're still band.

@xbdo777x Its maturing because like Slipknot said theyre not just a bunch of angry kids anymore they've realized that they want to do something different with their music and realize that their is more to music than what they have been doing. Thats basically what i think they're trying to say

@xbdo777x When a band "matures" it just means that theyre finding their collective sound. When a band is young theyre of course going to try new things musically. When a band sticks to one sound, then every album would be the exact same. What's interesting about that? Theres also the influence of the record label on the sound of their frist album to to consider. The labels gotta protect their investment, after all. Sucks. but that's how it is.
