    I picked up the last 2020 Ferris ISX 3300 at my local lawn mower dealership in Denton, TX. I got the one just like your with a 61 inch deck with the 37 hp. I have almost 2 and half acres of land. And I could not believe how fast I could mow over the bumps. The power of the motor just went through my grass if it was not even there. It normally takes me 90 minutes to mow my land with my Bob Cat mower. But it only took me about a hour with the Ferris. I see why you give your mower a lot of TLC by wiping it down after mowing. I did not like the new 2021 models coming out with the push button throttle. That's why I got the top of the line mower for it's great reviews. Worth every penny.

    Cool ol’ tractor. Interesting story: we actually own thee Massy Ferguson tractor that Ford bought to defend themselves in the Massy V. Ford lawsuit where Ford lost on patient infringement for the 3 point hitch design. When Ford lost the case, the Massy was put in a parking lot in Dearborn where everyday it reminded Ford of their defeat. My wife’s grandfather was looking to buy a tractor for his property in Northern Michigan when a friend of his who worked at Ford said “ Boy, we have a tractor we’d LOVE to get rid of!” She was loaded on a northbound train and we still use her today! “ Fergie” was exhibit 1A in the case back then and still drags a finish mower around the property now. Cheers 😊

    Hahahahaha.... GP, you were literally KILLIN' me with that tantalizing and teasing cameo in the top right....I was yelling at you to ZOOM IN darn it !!. LOL. You did better than that. Thank you for the honorable mention AND for the up close and personal view and walk around. That little Ford would be a neat little wood getter for you guys. If its not stuck, it wouldn't take much to get the old gal outta bed and back to work. The '49 looks to be a daily driver with the chains and blade intact. If you want a comparison video, maybe a 'loader' comparison between the '49 and your 2601 !! They were state of the art for the day, but unfortunately their time has passed for convenience as well as capacity. I noticed the automobile tires on the front vs the tri-ribs. That gives a little 'flotation' in soft soil or snow with the loader.
    I seem to be consistently late to the party, but I always do show up eventually.... That's some really nice property your neighbor sits on and I really enjoyed the jewels hidden within. This was perfect for the Ferris and its ability to negotiate around obstacles..... Awesome video my friend...have a wonderful week !!

    Greetings from eastern Ontario. Another great thing about that size of Z-turn mower is that even with tall grass almost no windrows to pick up. I've found that with regular lawn tractors 48 inch cut and below cutting tall grass always meant raking/sweeping when done. Cheers.

    Man GP looked like you were mowing a lake, you could really see the water coming out the shoot on your deck. I like old tractors too. Looks a lot like the old 9 N and the 2N, they were earlier Ford Tractors. I used to own a 1941 9N. They were good smooth running tractors with little h.p. mine was only a 16 h.p.. I believe the 8N would go up to 35-38 h.p. Thanks GP for bringing back some good memories. Loved the music too.👍

    You're really putting that Ferris to the test. It's hard to believe you're getting such a good cut on wet grass. I'll bet you spent a good while pressure washing the underside of the deck when you got done though.

    Hello Gord, your right those are beautiful tractors, even as they sit! But what harm could it do to see if you could get the one going again, after all it is a ford, and parts can be had at a reasonable price. As long as the motor is not seized it should not be to hard. Just need to check a few thing, 1 can you turn it over by hand( breaker bar and socket) 2 compression, 3 spark at coil or plugs, 4 compression.
    So here is how I would go about it, use the breaker bar on the front of the engine crank shaft pulls ( bottom pulls on front of engine) if it moves, remove all spark plugs, oil each cylinder, check if engine will crank over with a jump pack . If it cranks over, check for spark ( spark plug removed from cylinder grounded against engine block look for spark if no spark diagnose ignition system... points, condenser and coil also check for voltage at + side of coil. ) next check for fuel, generally something that has been sitting for many years will have carb issues, so instead of going nuts on the carb and fuel pump just pour a little gas down the throat of the carb or use a can of starting fluid.
    If nothing else it may make for a good video, and also be something fun to do as well!
    Watch out when mowing wet ground, if you don’t slip and slide tearing up the ground, you may leave ruts from your tires. Remember these mowers are not light by any means, and if you get it stuck stop!!! Do not try to rock it out ! You will only dig in deeper! Pull the transmission release levers and get Guy or someone else with a tractor to pull you out! After out, wash of mower, lock transmission back in, and park in shed until ground is dry enough to mow! This was a lesson learned the hard way, an I didn’t. Have a helping hand to dig it out either!
    Stay safe my friend!

    I just bought a ten acre property. Seven acres of it is lawn, just a big rectangle. I am trying to decide between a Ferris ISX2200 61" deck or a Ferris ISX3300 72"DECK. I see that yours has a 61" deck . how long do you think it would take you to mow 7 acres with that? the 72" deck is $3500 more than the 61". Just trying to figure out if its worth it or not for the bigger deck? Thanks

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors 4 роки тому

      Good morning Scott. A great question. That unit mows so fast that I would personally save the money and stay with the 61". On the video I just released earlier this week, I did Guy's upper and lower fields. I did most of it - about 4 or 5 acres and I finished in under 2 hours and that included all the time it took me to move cameras and audio equipment around etc, to record the video, a few breaks with Guy and discussions etc and as you will see on the video, neither one of us was driving very fast throughout the video. Good luck with your decision and happy mowing! Cheers!

    Those old 8N tractors are still pretty common. I live in Connecticut and still see a lot of them around in the rural areas of the state. It's not uncommon to see more than one on a property as the parts did not change a lot from year to year back then, so people will have a couple of parts tractors to keep one working.

      Good morning Greg! Thanks for the great info - I always enjoy hearing how things are in other areas. Same here. He keeps one for parts and the other one still works and he still uses it. Thanks again - take good care!

      God afternoon Peter. Great question. not at all. The suspension and the chair is really comfortable. The seat suspension is adjustable with a dial on the front, the arm rests are padded, it has lumbar support and the back, seat and lumbar support are all adjustable. I could mow for hours, with no fatigue. Thanks Peter - be well and all the best!

    Hi G.P. do you watch your videos. The reason I ask is I noticed in this video I think you maybe driving your zero turn like a tractor. Pulling forward and backing up. I've seen some landscape guys spin those things like a top. It doesn't make any difference I was just wondering if you or anyone else have noticed. We're tractor people old habits are hard to break. Great video my friend thanks for sharing

    Just curious what does the deck look like underneath when you get done with the wet grass?

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors 4 роки тому +1

      Hi Lightning! Great to hear from you. I thought it would be covered or built up with grass but shockingly, I took the hose out and pulled it up to get under and clean it and there was literally almost nothing caked under the deck. Scratched my head and put the hose away. Perhaps because it creates so much velocity under there, maybe the grass doesn't stick? I should ask the folks at Ferris. I thought for sure it would be caked pretty heavily but no. Hope you have a great week!
