There's actually another big clue in the Story. Faba asks if you want to leave for the Aether Foundation right away, but if you tell him "No," he flashes you this annoyed look, like a villain who's target won't cooperate.
Makes sense for him to be annoyed that you don't listen to him like a good kid should, though. And he's most likely just sucking up to his boss instead of actually evil. When I first heard this I was shocked, the music was accompanied by a sinister smile on these previously nice people. gave me a "who are you people really..?" kind of vibe 10/10 theme. well done game freak
Honestly as far as difficulty of grunt battles go, i feel the Aether grunts are definitely the hardest in the whole franchise. Its nearly impossible most times to predict what types of pokemon they will have and not to mention the level variety is larger than you would expect. I nearly lost to one of them once because they just caught me by surprise by how leveled they were and what type of pokemon they had. In the end they are still grunt battles, but yeah definitely not your typical grunts.
It would be cool if all team grunts were like that, you have no idea what to expect and BAM suddenly one of them tosses out a level 40 pokemon when you've got pokemon in the mid 30s
That's precisely how they're meant to look. They're acting in secret, so of course they won't have outfits that scream "I'M AN EVIL MOTHERFUCKER" the second you see them.
The Aether Employee Asshole Grin was pure gold. As pure as the Team Rocket Swag Walk in Generations. I remember having to storm the Aether Paradise at midnight on the dot and the moment I ran into a male employee, he flashed that grin and I went out of my way to just battle every single grunt I saw in the building. Took me an hour but that grin is perfection. *What made it even better was Faba's villain chin-hair twiddle.* Friggin' classic. Though, I was disappointed with the female employees trying to look menacing with emotionless faces. Like, I understand that some people loved it, but if they gave me something like that classic sly bitch grin; I would've been sold on the entire Foundation.
The only ones that had ulterior motives were Lusamine and Faba. Post-Game you find out the rest of the foundation actually did want to help pokemon. They were just following orders from the foundation president.
I swear, this track, Po Town's theme, Kahuna theme, and some others just give me a Kingdom Hearts vibe for some reason. It isn't the way they sound, it's more of the way they make you feel. This theme just gets you pumped like you're facing a giant heartless boss or something.
MagiColorful Moon Ganefreak needs to not to forced into constantly pumping out a new Pokémon game every three years. It’s not entirely their fault, it’s The Pokémon Company’s.
I prefer regular Sun/Moon. Lusamine had a perfectly good story in the original and I don't like the alterations in the second game. Also Rainbow Rocket is a joke.
i would argue to this date that Pokemon Platin is unbeatable in this regard (eventhough my first generation was X/Y so no first game played bias here) and yes Sw/Sh were not even worth buying for me
Yup. Much more dangerous than the Team Skull grunts you've been slapping around, and an actual threat at that. Shame you only fight them in this one part of the game, because that battle theme is godly.
While Aether and Skull has many similarities to Cipher and Snagem respectively. I find it funny how (at least with XD) the Aether Foundation's battle themes are _much_ more threatening than Cipher's. Yes Cipher as a team is very threatening, but it isn't conveyed in their battle themes like Aether.
I thinked the same, this game has many similarities to the Gamecube games, like no gym leaders and that the Pokemon "Stars" version will come on the NX (switch) and the NX is (more) a home console!
Mr.Baron I just started and 100%ed XD last month. I never got that game for a decade. But I wanted it SSOOOO BADLY. I finally got the game last month, and let's just say that it isn't as glamorous as I remember recalling it as. But I did enjoy it.
One of the few Pokemon tracks that manages to give me chills every time I hear it, the piano bassline is just SO good. Heck in general, Team Skull and the Aether Foundation are still tied together as my favorite Pokemon antagonists and their music was a major reason why
Just coming back to this, i truly feel that SMUSUM gave us all that “this is great” feeling like we had with BWB2W2. Now that Scarlet/Violet is coming, not sure if we will get this feeling again. The plot, the music..
Who else was genuinely surprised when the reveal came that team skull was working with Aether? They actually explained where the evil team got their funds!!
having to fight through these people, who you'd been having polite interactioms with before for most of the story, was definitely one of the better things in the game
I just love how much more mature the writing has been done for this game. (Well, this team at least, with team Skull and all.) For the first time an evil team felt evil, not just acted it. *SPOILER...I suppose* This became all too clear when one of the Aether grunts said "Now that you've seen the darkest things at the heart of the Aether Foundation, it's time for you to conveniently disappear."
My favorite part of the Aether Foundation as antagonists is that they're upfront about wanting to KILL the main character. Even in the English version it's apparent they're trying to seriously hurt you. We haven't had this meaty of a villian group since Gen 2. These guys and Team Skull were real threats with Skull being more like sympathic street criminals and AF mirroring real life antagonists.
Everyone seems to forget when Ghetsis tried to impale a child with many icicle spears and then tried to kill this same child with a monstrosity he created from his son's abducted pokémon
Well no matter what country your in the higher up government legal system and big companies are pretty evil. But hey I'm just a cynical Cyrus what do I know?
Slideshows Aamy it really is. way better than oras. it made me more into the game i really enjoyed the soundtracks they made. this one actually makes u feel like you're in trouble.
gen 7 had the best music in my eyes and heart. the clean 3ds sound system was amazing, and as someone who really loves music, it blew 9-year-old me away that this series i had known so little about before was this incredible. pokemon moon was the best first impression i think i ever could have had in the franchise, and while that could be nostalgia talking, it just makes me happy and fuzzy inside to think about the memories. i remember genuinely getting startled by mimikyu in the ghost trial, evolving my torracat into incineroar at the team skull grunt bus stop battle because i just kept failing, and even more. god, listening to a piano remaster of the battle theme of mother beast lusamine on loop while playing games is one of the few things i remember clearly from over 3 years ago. i never fully appreciated the music before, i was just playing the game and having fun, hiding from the stresses of sudden bullying at school in a fun game i never got to properly experience until then. but now, now i can appreciate it in its entirety. the emotion behind it is incredible. it sounds so proper and professional yet it conveys urgency with a hint of panic and franticness, and it's overall INTENSE. maybe i'm reading the music wrong but that's what i feel from it. i'd love to hear other people's memories of the music of pokemon, regardless of generation, and learn what you guys feel from your favorite bits of ost. maybe we can have a nice discussion about this! that was a very long ramble, and i apologize, but... agh, sun and moon have a particularly special place in my heart. pokemon in general does.
I wonder who's playing the piano. it's the happy mask salesman finally putting that giant piano to good use. in majors mask he pays this many keys on it 3/300
Everyone is saying that the Aether Foundation is evil but in my personal opinion I feel like some people working there genuinely had no idea what was happening and thought they were doing a good job, or something, like I don't think all of them wanted to unleash potential death on Alola.
Lusamine, sure, she was pretty weird anyway, but she only turned evil (or, more like insane) because of Nihilego's toxins.
@@WolfRider2002 I think lusamine had seen Nihilego before, that's why she was affected by nihilego's toxins
That’s a good theory. I believe it.
oh a lot of them fuckin knew. How else do you explain the sadistic looking smiles the male grunts had?
More like Faba and debateably Lusamine.
I can't even begin to explain the happiness I felt when I first saw the Aether Foundation symbol on my screen and then heard the special music play.

"Now that you know the darkness at the heart of Aether Paradise, you'll have to conveniently disappear now!"
God i love these games
The Aether foundation was the most cleverly designed villain group out of any pokémon game by far change my mind
The most underrated song in the most underrated game in the series
When I first heard this I was shocked, the music was accompanied by a sinister smile on these previously nice people.
gave me a "who are you people really..?" kind of vibe
10/10 theme. well done game freak
IDK why but this song has become one of my favorites & gets my blood pumping *every time* I hear it
Gladion: " Meet me at the Elevator!"
Hau: "Let's sneak inside! Hopefully no one sees me!"
Me: "FUCK IT! I destroy them all! Woop woop!"
Employee: Why are you trespassing? If you ask nicely I’m sure we could help you
Honestly as far as difficulty of grunt battles go, i feel the Aether grunts are definitely the hardest in the whole franchise.
Kinda weird how "normal" they look compared to other grunts
cleaning service is here
HUMUS!!! ! lol xD
That's precisely how they're meant to look. They're acting in secret, so of course they won't have outfits that scream "I'M AN EVIL MOTHERFUCKER" the second you see them.
+totofze47 Except "fuck, those guys are creepy" was what I thought when I went into their room in Heahea.
Macling Though their evil face game is on point.
Ooh, this theme gives me chills. I can't wait to see how truly evil the Aether Foundation is in the game! :0
It was so obvious that these guys were villains. You could see it from the moment you see them.
Wesley Tran Well Lusamine's the only real villain in the Aether Foundation, but it was very obvious
Wesley Tran plus faba
Nah, Faba's just following orders though, his blog shows that he's scared of her and that he never goes against her out of fear
Wesley Tran they're not evil, just the boss
Terrance M. Rice-Lewis The boss is crazy, not evil.
Love that piano and violin so much! This sounds like it could be a team leader or admin theme!
Is that a grunt theme?? Better than some boss theme xD
soupe2000 who's
Scaling Sceptile 5G team plasma's boss
ghetsis or colress?
Tozé Nugueira Ghettis
soupe2000
At least Colress is in Sun and Moon.
IGN 7.8 Too much UltraBeast
LightPlayer 7.8/10 Too much land.
7.8 Too much music.
LightPlayer 5.5/10 IGN Legendaries have pre-evolutions.
Conner Sanders HG/SS has legendary eggs.
Life Finds a Way Oh wow! Didn't know that.
Best battle theme in the game, period. It's just so frantic and stimulating.
This is basically Aperture Science :P
Without neurotoxins but with a psycho lady behind, yes
TheNezharMC there are totally neurotoxins involved lol
Uhh...? Said psycho lady is psycho BECAUSE of neurotoxins released by UB01.

Oh, I know. I just couldn't help but appreciate how the male employees went the extra mile to flash an asshole grin for good measure.
I swear, this track, Po Town's theme, Kahuna theme, and some others just give me a Kingdom Hearts vibe for some reason. It isn't the way they sound, it's more of the way they make you feel. This theme just gets you pumped like you're facing a giant heartless boss or something.
Now you mentioned it, the Aether Foundation President battle theme sounds like you're fighting Organization XIII.
Which one? Version 1 (Battle!) or Version 2 (Showdown!)?
That feeling when Sun and Moon are the best games to date.
MagiColorful Moon Ganefreak needs to not to forced into constantly pumping out a new Pokémon game every three years. It’s not entirely their fault, it’s The Pokémon Company’s.
USUM are better
I prefer regular Sun/Moon. Lusamine had a perfectly good story in the original and I don't like the alterations in the second game. Also Rainbow Rocket is a joke.
Vassilinia ok, but you have to respect the larger dex, new UBs, forms and much better postgame.
i would argue to this date that Pokemon Platin is unbeatable in this regard (eventhough my first generation was X/Y so no first game played bias here) and yes Sw/Sh were not even worth buying for me
Can you roll up those sleeves any more?
"We have achieved not only Pokemon preservation and protection, but SLEEVE ROLLING TO THE MAXIMUM POINT!"
IM SO UPSET WITH YOU!!
I KEEP SPOILING MYSELF
THE TORTURE
these guys must be pretty damn evil if this is the theme for the....grunts? Damn!
Jokes on you, grunts aren't evil nor really mean.
Faba was really the only one who was kind of in on it but then got demoted right after and became a grunt
I faced these grunts in Aether Paradise earlier today. I found them to be much more tougher than the Team Skull grunts.
Darkstar263 Team skull is stupid tho
Same here, Team Skull was way too easy but these guys were at least somewhat challenging.
That's the point. Grunts are supposed to be easy.
I love the detail about Aether was the true rival.
The only ones that had ulterior motives were Lusamine and Faba. Post-Game you find out the rest of the foundation actually did want to help pokemon.
This team gives off some serious Team Cipher vibes from my Pokemon Colosseum and XD days.
Yup. Much more dangerous than the Team Skull grunts you've been slapping around, and an actual threat at that. Shame you only fight them in this one part of the game, because that battle theme is godly.
Similarly, Team Skull serves as a parallel to Team Snagem, being a simple group of thugs who work for the bigger threat.
This comment didn't age well lol.
@@VG_Winch lmao
this comment is the literal definition of aging like milk 💀💀💀
Well, music wise succeeded. 🏃🏽♂️💨
Gen VII gets a lot of undeserved hate imo.
This music has suspense, I love it!
You are challenged by Aether Foundation President Lusimine!
Randi Burrell her theme is darker imo
and then by a human/pokemon fusion
Ricardo Saltos That form is a darker version of Ash-Greninja as she actually becomes a monster who almost kills you when you beat her...
THAT'S IT! NO MORE! (*PANT*) (*PANT*) NO MORE (*PANT*) (*PANT*)
MigzyKirbyPokemon24 And All Things Simple What?
Who else was genuinely surprised when the reveal came that team skull was working with Aether? They actually explained where the evil team got their funds!!
Yo a los 15 años: OBRA MAESTRA 🎩🍷🧐
Yo a los 17 años: OBRA MAESTRA 🎩🍷🧐
Yo ahora con 20 años: OBRA MAESTRA 🎩🍷🧐
having to fight through these people, who you'd been having polite interactioms with before for most of the story, was definitely one of the better things in the game
Love this so much, probably my favourite theme for sun and moon alongside the kahuna's theme
You know, the good guys!
I just love how much more mature the writing has been done for this game. (Well, this team at least, with team Skull and all.)
For the first time an evil team felt evil, not just acted it. *SPOILER...I suppose* This became all too clear when one of the Aether grunts said "Now that you've seen the darkest things at the heart of the Aether Foundation, it's time for you to conveniently disappear."
I love the piano in these AF themes
And that intro
Rootbeerguy690 - A UA-cam Commenter and that violin
The only thing I didn't see coming was Wicke actually helping you throughout it all. I was expecting her to betray us since she looks so innocent.
Favorite theme EVER!
It's the piano that really makes it. Both energy and the urgency of a dangerous place.
I love it!
People are always saying that team plasma is the best evil team. They weren't evil. Ghetsis was. But this evil team ties with neo team plasma.
"Now that you've seen the darker side of this foundation, we'll need to make you conveniently disappear"
Such a good battle theme! Really like this one
I like how 1:42 sounds like a part of Team Skull's grunt music
Musics in Pokemon Sun and Moon are amazing most of the time, even remix GG
Slideshows Aamy it really is. way better than oras. it made me more into the game i really enjoyed the soundtracks they made. this one actually makes u feel like you're in trouble.
Sure, In Oras, Zinnia was amzing and her theme.... OMG x)
but in Sun and Moon it was great too :)
totally agree with you ! Ah ? this theme makes me feel like : We are snob and we're gonna try to stop you . XD but i love it
You know your boss cares about their employees when they give them a theme as sick as this.
Mais... c'est génial ! o_o
Merci Pokeli, je l'écoute en boucle maintenant !
This theme is so WICKE-D! Because Wicke...
JHamb I'll get the shotgun
JHamb WICKE-D because wicke wants the d
I'm gonna need more ammo
Of course again brodah ;)
But bleach is in your name, can't you do it yourself?
gen 7 had the best music in my eyes and heart. the clean 3ds sound system was amazing, and as someone who really loves music, it blew 9-year-old me away that this series i had known so little about before was this incredible. pokemon moon was the best first impression i think i ever could have had in the franchise, and while that could be nostalgia talking, it just makes me happy and fuzzy inside to think about the memories. i remember genuinely getting startled by mimikyu in the ghost trial, evolving my torracat into incineroar at the team skull grunt bus stop battle because i just kept failing, and even more. god, listening to a piano remaster of the battle theme of mother beast lusamine on loop while playing games is one of the few things i remember clearly from over 3 years ago.
i never fully appreciated the music before, i was just playing the game and having fun, hiding from the stresses of sudden bullying at school in a fun game i never got to properly experience until then. but now, now i can appreciate it in its entirety. the emotion behind it is incredible. it sounds so proper and professional yet it conveys urgency with a hint of panic and franticness, and it's overall INTENSE. maybe i'm reading the music wrong but that's what i feel from it.
i'd love to hear other people's memories of the music of pokemon, regardless of generation, and learn what you guys feel from your favorite bits of ost. maybe we can have a nice discussion about this!
that was a very long ramble, and i apologize, but... agh, sun and moon have a particularly special place in my heart. pokemon in general does.
Excuse me, is this still Pokemon I'm playing?
no this is patrick
implying Pokemon hasn't always had themes like this
Your subscriptions 💀
I wonder who's playing the piano. it's the happy mask salesman finally putting that giant piano to good use. in majors mask he pays this many keys on it 3/300
plays
You CAN edit messages, you know.
The Bear yes but does this face look like I give a shit
sans the meme lord No, but it looks retarded.
O hai M8 ... wanna go
I cant be the only one who loves the opening of this track. surely.
At Aether Foundation, we protect and take care of Pokemon
*Immediately challenges you to a battle*
0:03 Mission Start!
My heart dropped and my pulse actually sped up when I saw the smirking grunt and heard this music I was like 'oh no'.
When you wake up and realise that your alarm didn't go off...
The piano really puts in work in this!
That drop at the beginning is so perfect
this is certainly my favorite grunt battle theme. i just love how ominous it sounds.... team plasma is a close second.
I love how this theme sounds like a chase
I was genuinely surprised to find out Aether Foundation was evil, they looked so innocent. The theme is so menacing too!
