Does cam shaft lobes need to be down at TDC? I had it at the T with marks lined up on cam shaft sprocket but cam shaft lobes were up. Manual doesn't mention anything about cam shaft.
my xr had a broken cam chain tensioner, i don't know how it happened but there was an awful noise coming from it and i was loosing speed, and one time the bike turned off while i was going uphill
Hey @XRLand , where does the little timing mark on the kickstart shaft cam next to the right side crank case cover line up with? I have an 83 XR500R that I just took the right side crank case off to replace the gasket, and couldnt find the corresponding mark, and now my kickstart lever doesnt retract back up on its own. I didnt even take the clutch basket off.
1:05 interesting you dont use the honda cct tool. I'll double back to see how you uninstalled it but I don't even know how its possible to assemble/disassemble without it.

Thank you, sir!
How do you prevent oil leaks from the mating surfaces? I always clean really well and use oem gaskets but sooner o later i always end up with leaks

When aligning the camshaft at top dead center, are the cam lobes facing up or down?
When you do the valves... And you have the engine on T mark you put it on The "T" ? Or the "l"that Is on the left of "T"?
Hey gabin554, you should have it on the T (top dead center). Make sure the rockers are loose when measuring so you know you're at the correct TDC.
@@XRLand Okey thank you very much!
You're welcome!
Una belleza de motorrrrrr. Lo maximoooo

i have a xr500 and have to remove head is it the same cam chain tensioner set up as this its a 83 model
0:59 it looks like you have the wrong side of the bearing pointing outward. The sealed side goes on the outside, I believe. Correct me if thats not it
Yeah. The bearing was backward. I purchased the bike used, and this is how it was when I found it. Good observation.
muy buen video. que medida para la admisión y que medida para la de escape?
Hello I been getting mixed information so what is the torque on the main cylinder bolts and then the head bolts? in foot lbs? I have a xl600r
Ok thanks
,explains why almost all the bolt threads were severly stripped and needed re-tapped and heli-coiled.
I'm rebuilding my xr600r. I wasn't paying attention and my cam rolled off the table, I don't see any damage do you think it's safe to use?
Probably safe to use if you don't see any damage. But I'm no metal expert. Sorry to hear about that.

Steamboat it uninstalled easily. Installation using the zip tie was a pain, but doable.
Con estos video hasta ganas de desarmar mi moto me dieron....Salu
Зачем пропускаешь самые важные нюансы? например про шпенек под распредвалом.
you left seals on cam shaft bearings? Why?
You are right! They should have been replaced. Good addition, thank you!
hello exhaust valves of how many millimeters leave ?
