    Hey Craig I learned this trick from my Grandfather ,you take an oil can squirt can and a short piece of hose,fill the squirt can with brake fluid and start at the right rear to pump the fluid up to the master with the cap off and that way you are pushing the air out of the master,it makes it easy to bleed your brakes all by yourself,I learned this back in the early sixties

      Good evening, I learned to bleed brakes this way working on aircraft brakes. They have a really effective power bleeder to do this. It makes rock hard brakes on aircraft. I bought one of these bleeders to do auto brakes. It works great, no air whatsoever. Thanks for the advise. You take care and good luck.

      I’ve never heard of doing it that way but it makes sense and sounds like it should be easier than some of the other ways I have used.

    Right on Craig. Been watching your vids for 3 years. I like the fact that you're not afraid to get your hands dirty and just go for it. Reminds me of myself when I was your age. That was 40 years ago! Keeping the old iron on the road from a young builder is why I watch. Well done.

    Craig, I'm a life time Ford guy. As are most of my friends. We all consider the 64 Galaxy 500 to be the most beautiful full size Ford ever built. Thank you for bringing two back to life!!

    Dam it looks great on the ground. I'm impressed that your doing all the work outside and not in a shop I rather see someone work on there car like us normal people that don't have a shop and have to work on there cars in the driveways or back yards like you . Keep up the great work

    It looks great Craig! Great job. As an old guy, who use to do this kind of stuff when I was your age, it warms my soul that you get the same charge of putting work into an old car as I and many of us did. You are living proof that the next generation of hotrodders is alive and well. Said with the utmost respect. You must have fantastic parents as well. I live in Ca. too. It aint easy. 😀🇺🇲

    Great job Craig, looks great. Heres another by yourself brake bleeding tip. Crack your bleeder and put a oil resistant hose on it, run the hose into a clear bottle with some fluid in it and pump the brakes until the bubbles stop and tighten the bleeder. I have been doing it this way for 40+ years with no problems. Oh yeah, then you can just refill the master with what you put in the bottle.

    Love early 60's full size Ford's! Good job so far! Since you have the holes cut into the trunk pan for the rear coilovers, bar has been added. Hmm, would it really be that hard to continue an go with lever style shock system? Since you're in already half way there.

    Nice car. I have to say, you run 3/16' on front lines to discs and 1/4' to rear drums. Also, bleeding you start at passenger rear to drivers rear, then to passenger front to drivers front. Farthest away from master cylinder to closest. After bench bleeding the master cylinder before installation.

    Hmm... by the time you add all the interior pieces, fluids and bodies, you may need more of those two inches than you thought. I can remember back when you started on here; you've come a very long way. Congrats and take the time to get it right as you move forward.

  • @MrAmartin8
    @MrAmartin8 2 роки тому

    One man brake bleeding is very simple . use the hose you were using but put the hose in a bottle with fluid in the bottle and the end of the hose in the brake fluid in the bottle . That way when you pump and release the brake pedal no air will be sucked back in the system . Do that on each wheel .

    An explanation for why the front of the MC feeds the rear and vice versa..... The MC bore is milled from the rear and the front of the bore is smaller than the rear of the bore. In a Disc/Drum system the front calipers require much more fluid to operate than the rear brake cylinders. Small MC bore to rear, large MC bore to front. Simple.
