Given the simplicity of Castle in general, I love the layers in this scene. Castle breaks up with Gina because he realises in this episode that he doesn't just fancy Beckett, he's actually in love with her. And Beckett (true to character) spent the episode avoiding the subject of his tumultuous love life and brushing off people who wouldn't, because she is a private person and respects the privacy of others. She's sad for him here, and pushes aside her own conflictions simply to be kind to him.

No! Castle isn’t a naive child! He didn’t break up with Gina just because “he realized that he loved Beckett right now, right same day, minutes and etc.! This was a balanced and serious decision made and not in one day.
private life? she spent the whole time rubbing her boyfriend in the castle's face, kissing her boyfriend in the police station itself. Castle only stayed with Gina because he was hurt, tried Ease the frustration of seeing Beckett kissing another when he'd asked her to come to the Hamptons with him. He fell in love with Beckett from the beginning and always showed all his love for her.
You could 100% tell she's in love with him from the start...
The look on his face when she gives him the flowers. It's priceless!
I love how those feelings she tried to bury for him came out and slapped her right in the face, taunting, "did you really think you were over him?" HaHa! I love this show and Caskett!! Best couple on tv at the moment!!!
I love how the elevator is already coincidentally open when they get there. Even the elevator thinks Castle and Beckett should go on a date. =)

I just noticed that this was the episode before Castle kisses Beckett! Thank God he made that phone call, otherwise it would be a cat fight to the death! :D
Kind of like how castle just turned around to let beckett use his back as a desk. And it kind of shows that he has her back and she has his.

You could clearly see on Beckett’s face here that when she overheard Castle’s conversation with Gina it was actually about her and why they broke up and the way she reacted proved how much she really truly does love Richard and always has been she doesn’t need to say anything the look she gave says literally everything SHE’S COMPLETELY IN LOVE WITH RICHARD CASTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😍

Is it just me, or does it seem like every time DMB is on shift, Beckett and Castle go on a "non-date?"
I think Beckett fell for Castle in season 1 episode 1 and the same for Castle, but they didn't act on the feelings for each other until much later. Also you can tell that Beckett gets jealous when he's with other girls or other girls show interest in him. Same can also be said that Castle would get jealous when Beckett is with some other guy or when other guys show interest in her
@TheWhiteFang284 , when you examine the premise upon which the ENTIRE show is based, you quickly realize why she acts as she does and why he acts as he does in return. The creators set the whole show up to examine the interactions of these two very flawed and damaged people and are letting us watch as they resolve their issues, both about each other and with each other in partnership.
