Yes they are very talented and those girls do enjoy performing There won't be anybody else like them in history these girls been rocking away since they were 14, 15, 16 years old and mostly write and compose their own music And that's awesome
I dont know Scandal on a personal level but these girls def have put in many years of practice and hard work and tour world wide. I love Osaka Japan. I have been there several times. Thats why Scandal are strong. Hard working large city in Japan most americans do not know about. Osaka Japan Sugoi!
The girls did a great job...I don't really know what 'J-rock' or 'J-pop' means...but, Scandal has the heart and talent of a real rock and roll band and if they stick to that, then going international (the west) will be a piece of cake. And, they will get richer.... But, from watching their performances and interviews in late 2014 and 2015, I sense they are being pulled in several different directions and very possibly not of their own choosing. We don't see much of Tomomi's smiling exuberance on this tour, which is curious.
Thank you sharing! I'm 'old school' in that I believe R&R is universal and transcends internationally. R&R originated in 50's America but was influenced and developed by the sounds and cultures associated with the blues, jazz, bluegrass, country, and ballads associated with all. The UK in the 60's and 70's took R&R to extraordinary refinement. Asia has been late to produce real rock and roll bands. Some of the better R&R bands came first from the Philippines then Korea and Japan. I've heard several Chinese bands in different parts of that country perform rock and roll and I think for some they didn't actually know that was what they were doing. Rock and Roll comes naturally to performers. It's how it happened to Scandal. Their newest album is testimony to that because they wrote and produced the album themselves. The band members admit that their style simply evolved into rock and roll. Scandal music is not pop music but I'm sure many will disagree and say it is, especially young people.
Winston O'Dell tomomi mentioned in a blog recently she was feeling down a good portion of the tour and she lost a newly bought camera that she took many pictured with during this time. but yea i noticed it too, she wasnt as bubbly and cheery as she usually is. however she did say the tour cheered her up a bit.
+Winston O'Dell Actually, these days they write their own music mostly. The different vibes of music is because they want to try different things I'm assuming. Or maybe I'm not reading the 'different directions' part correctly.
+Syed Abdullah Yeah, I agree. In their interviews they say they want to try different music. I was wondering however if they are being manipulated to do something that might be in contrast to their artistic flair. Western bands historically complain of this kind of influence. One person already pointed out, "it's all about business and making money". Scandal is a remarkable band with their own signature sound. We hope they continue in their success.
Awesome to have these folks perform here in LA!
I just wish they could do a full u.s. tour. I'd love to see them!
