from another old coastie. Last crew on the Mackinac out of NY (not the Mackinaw on the Lakes) and a Plank Owner (first crew) on the Chase out of Boston. Both were high endurance cutters, the Chase had a combined Diesel/gas turbine power system and could do 32 knots, Navy destroyers asked us to slow down at Gitmo. I was in port and at sea OOD, Weapons Officer, and Landing Signal Officer. I'd love to go aboard one of these new cutters but I live in landlocked Harrisburg, PA.
Another fantastic presentation!! Thanks for doing these. I know you put a lot of work into doing these. I have shared these links with the Coast Guard Historian's Office.
It would be nice if Congress would take better care of the Coast Guard, insuring that the service was properly funded and equipped with an adequate number of larger cutters, icebreakers and aircraft needed to carry out it's missions.

Great Job Ken. James Howard Hall, Coast Guard Kodiak Alaska. JHH, US Army Veteran, Sergeant, NATO COMMAND, reporting to General Alexander M Haig, SACEUR 75-79. Like a father to me fr 3 years in Germany. Changed my life forever! And my supervisor, Lt General Charles P Otsott, Deputy Commander NATO Intelligence, Europe. Talked in 2007 Virginia. Retired and happy. Great man! Thank you Ken for the wonderful video
Some of the dates does not jive. In 2008 As a Trucker I hauled a load of Cable for these Cutters. By the Data given, only 1 Cutter was under construction then, But there was 1 ready to be transfer to the USCG, and 4 others under construction at that time
Thank you for this great presentation of these NEW build off-shore CG Patrol assets. I'm asking anyone with a Naval background serving on (FFG's) Perry class Naval vessels. I got the Pleasure of a 5 hour ride from Everett Washington to Seattle for Seafare. On USS Rodney M. Davis ( FFG-60) Pre (9-11) I'm just asking Because the (FFG's) have been given to friendly Country to continue their Navy service. Why did (CG) NOT update, take off missile launch on bow. Then install a big Deck gun. The (FFG's) have a helicopter landing and hanger bay. I always thought the (FFG's) would be a perfect hull for (CG) off shore Patrols. That's just my Humble opinion. Please former Navy people tell me why the (FFG's) would NOT be perfect for (CG) there has to be some (FFG's) that still have LIFE in them.
Beautiful vessels! And the USCG is doing a good job. Greetings from the Netherlands.

Other than the version of our CG hymn, this is a great video
Love the Coasties....the brave men and women ❤

Congress needs money for their own.
I know trump authorized replacements for the 210 and 270 but I think Biden cut it

Retired Coastie. Though I admired the Hamilton class. This newer class really looks good.

I’m CG Retired, driving flatbed 16 yrs now. Have always wanted a load supporting the CG! Lucky 🍀 You! Thanks 😊
Thx for ur service to all the branch of the military
The coastguard always has the prettiest ships.
The Chinese have ripped off the paint scheme like they do everything.
After the decomisioning of the old Hamilton class they made a new one.
Love the legend class!! But the Hamilton class is sexier looking.
Was at the old 210s . I stuck with cutter life and would be cool to be on one of these . Makes a 210 look horrible
What happened to the bio for CAPT Dorothy Stratton?
Narrations read word for word, verbatim from Wikipedia entries on individual ships.
