Not only are you a great videographer, photographer, storm chaser, singer, songwriter, entertainer, animal enthusiast and care giver, you are also a delightful and educational lecturer. Let's not forget humorous humanitarian and gentle gentleman. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful skills with us mortals!
Hank, I'm a neuroscientist who gives quite a few talks per year as a consequence of my profession. I hate giving talks. It's not in my blood. That being said, as someone who has witnessed a critical mass of talks delivered across a decade or so, I have to applaud your general casual style. I personally have little luck with the casual style when delivering presentations and data to other scientists (and I do imaging, so trust me, it is very similar caliber to the data delivered for storm chasing), but I always strive to reach the right balance/tone that you deliver here, between scientific and anthropologic. You done done did it here. Cheers for the non-PhDs trying to eke-out a living among the PhDs, slowly building our expertise over the course of decades, rather than hinging it all on a supersonic 4-7-year-stint under abusive academic advisers.
Well said! Bravo! Hank consistently delivers down home videos filled with verifiable scientific slides all centered around spectacular HD videos & stills. It is wonderful to have a highly credentialed scientist acknowledge Hank's excellence. Thank you.
What is this in reference to? I keep thinking of the event that happened like right over Reed Timmer and his team, where they literally could have stayed home and got good footage.
My 6 year old son, Ashton, loves tornadoes and we happened to find your videos one day. Now, he watches them each morning before school and then draws what he remembers later on that day. Your videos are so informative and entertaining! Just wanted to share that with you :)
Not only is he an absolute pro storm chaser, he also knows his speech. Breaking the ice with the anekdote, making people laugh, giving them interest in what he's got to say, that's true mastery of speech. Damn, Hank's a pro at life it seems.
I’ve attended the DuPage county weather seminar several times over the past few years. I can’t even describe how disappointed I was that I could not attend this year after I heard you would be a presenter. Glad to at least be able to see your presentation on UA-cam and I hope you are invited back next year.
This is even more edifying with the captions turned on. @9:14 "We all know an outflow dominant storm is less likely to produce a potato." Heck, I'm a gardener and even I didn't know that.

This all combined woth great public transport so you will not find yourself in great need of car or taxi. However in terms of stormchasing Prague has almost nothing to offer ⚡️😕

I've seen some lightening before, but nothing like that. Nature is so beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed the fascinating talk. Thank you.
The fact that you are deaf in one ear but still can make music as great as you do, is simply amazing. You sir, were put here to give people a ray of light during their darkest times. Whether its a tornado, needing a laugh, needing to hear some amazing music, or an animal that doesnt know when to cross the road, you are here to bring light to all of it. Also, i have been dabbling in astrophotography, and some of the same settings you use to capture lightening, i use to image the moon, so i plan to try to get some pictures of lightening during our next storm. Thank you for being an inspiration.
I'm very happy to see you getting recognition from the scientific community for what you've contributed to the study of storm development. Your pictures make it very clear what's going on, and I hope the scientists are impressed!

About three months ago I was also stuck in an elevator at a hotel in Lawrence when we were there for a KU game, wasn't the most settling experience.

Hey Hank thank you for taking all of us along with you on this awesome journey that your living man .... your channel has shown us so much of the things that most will never observe in entire life time.

But then again I guess the point of stand up is to succeed at making the audience laugh so you could make the argument that it's on hank to find a way to word the joke so that the audience does get it

Even at 39 years old and 3 semesters under my belt, I have changed my major 3 times, and that shows you have a passion for something; listen to that passion and don't shy away from it. Brother, a dream of mine is to have the ability to chase something like this. I work full time, have a family, I’m part of several boards and committees and stay busy and all I want to go out and experience nature and especially the power of Mother Nature. I’ve photographed lightning but only when it happens in my hometown. I’ve found it difficult to travel far but one day, I would absolutely love to have that freedom.
I can see this as a single lecture in a far longer intensive or cert course. I see gems here that could benefit from reorientation into a greater body of work, with as much needed data included to go through the ropes analyzing the chances and risks. Such analysis requires many iterations to successfully anticipate outcomes while not being so well equipped, and the presented case is rich with points to discuss beyond the presented ones. I, like you, would have staged well ahead of that southern half of major mass of cells anticipating one like that beautiful anvil you captured, SOMETHING coming from that airmass that seemed to be the primary instigator of the disturbance HAD to dust up more. The lightning from that massive cloud deck beyond...wow...EXCELLENT SNAPS ALL AROUND! If no one there did not get more interested in chasing, nothing may. It is such a treat to see a chaser impacting the emergency management community, the NWS, SCIENCE, and the rest of us. Keep up the good work!!!
Great presentation that day, Hank, entertaining as well! I was in the front row, center! Thanks for uploading this video and I'm already looking forward to next year's seminar!

I’ve photographed lightning but only when it happens in my hometown. I’ve found it difficult to travel far but one day, I would absolutely love to have that freedom.
Take a vacation for yourself. Enough constant sacrifice for others. (I say this with love btw)
The most beautiful video I’ve ever seen... Thanks Pecos Hank!
The dude can do anything! Awesome presentation Hank...
tornadoes are so fascinating so thank you so much for fueling my addiction!
Storm chaser, animal whisperer, musician, editor, photographer, videographer, public speaker... He's literally the most interesting man in the world!
Great job, Pecos. Appreciate the art and science of your work.
Thank you Pecos Hank you're truly amazing!
Great presentation that day, Hank, entertaining as well! I was in the front row, center! Thanks for uploading this video and I'm already looking forward to next year's seminar!
Thanks for watching it again Pat. Missing that deep dish big time!
