Do you have a link for that amp shelf you have in the background? That thing looks sweet! I’ve been looking for a good shelf to house my gear in my studio.
Corey, my wife has had bells twice. Not fun at all but don’t sweat it. It won’t last forever. You look great. I wouldn’t have even noticed if you hadn’t mentioned it. Get well soon dude.
Rhett is quickly becoming the nexus of UA-cam Guitarists. Between JHS, Tim, Pete, promoting Madison, hanging at Norm’s. Probably just sold 50 Novo Miris axes. I know I want. Do you have a signature with them? Incredible tone and dynamics. Some friends of mine ask me how I improved my soloing on guitar over the last couple of years, while they stayed the same. It’s finding a great amp, and it’s watching the right UA-cam videos.
First, Rhett, I came for the announcements and videos, then stayed for the playing, then continue coming here for the people. I saw Tim Pierce first time here (don't judge me), then others, now Corey, ... Awesome people you have here, all the best thou!
Rhett was my guitar instructor during my junior year of high school (although I doubt he remembers me lol). Pretty surreal to be scrolling on UA-cam 10 years later and see that he’s blown up here. Love your videos man, keep at it!
Hey Cory, the same thing happened to me 2015. I've gotten about 80% movement back, but most people I hear recover fully in a few months. I notice it everyone I look in a mirror, but I don't think other people notice it. Good luck for a full recovery and don't let it get you down!
Corey is such a sweet dude and fantastic player and teacher - if you haven't checked out his YT channel or any of his courses dig in and support what he's doing! Praying for fast recovery Corey - hang in there!
Man, Corey was great and has amazing chops, and we all know Rhett’s amazing too. But Tim just has a special touch. You can really tell how much experience he has, and the tone!
The best call and response playing I've ever seen is that In Session set with SRV and Albert King. Two masters of their craft having a full conversation through their instruments.
Tim's style is too poppy for my taste. I can appreciate what he's doing though. Cory has that Pink Floyd thing going, but with his own way of doing it. That was insane.
Thanks Rhett! Crazy thing…I was just looking at Corey’s classes, having not heard of him before, and now you included him too! Tim is a monster and always a joy to listen and learn from. You have a great group of friends to collaborate with. Seeing them work with other folks I have gotten a sense of a great and supportive community. This aspect helps me to keep going when I get frustrated or stalled out.
Wow, this is another fantastic video Rhett, thank you. Thank you also to Corey and Tim (you guys are awesome), for being in the video. I'm definitely more inspired to continue my guitar training and education. Thank you all.
Please please make more videos like that, giving a backing track to pros, then analyzing their solos. If you can share these backing tracks it'll be so great too. good job dude, truly a fantastic video.
My college band played SO many major scale songs! Then my Head Baseball Coach joined us on stage pulling out blues style harmonica and we naturally just clicked. Our call and responses were unique because of the minor/major mix and it brought a lot of dynamics. We also instinctively just knew how to build off each other. It really helped me to rethink how I solo. Definitely developed into more of Pierce style player.
I just subscribed to Corey’s channel. And I have to say right before I sat down with my lunch to watch this video, I ran through Corey’s circle of fourths arpeggio warm up. It’s been a wonderful addition to my daily exercise. Great on a day like today when I only have a few minutes. Tim’s call and response, double stops, great stuff! Speaks to my playing. I’ve been subscribed to Tim channel for as long as I’ve been subscribed to Rhett’s. I think Rhett and Corey have the same barber 💈, lol. Great stuff, thanks
Man, I appreciate Rhett's commentary and insight to music and musicians. I've only ever dabbled in playing myself but as an independent promoter (small local shows), his insights are so inccredibly valuable in learning what makes good musicians and good music. I find myself listening for the little things that I have learned from him over the years and I, personally, feel like it has made me more valuable to the people I promote. Thank you Rhett for just doing you, man. I wish I had more people like you in my personal life. You make music better... and the people that suport it, promote it, and play it better as well. Much love!
Oh! Side note, my close friends (Tom and Mitch of 20 Watt Tombstone) just opened for your close pal Tyler Bryant in Chicago last week. Six degrees of separation, man! ;)
Two of my favs who ive studied and learned a ton from…thnx rhett! Corey all best wishes for a speedy recovery and thank u for sharing what youre going thru-i’m fight some health issues too…playing guitar and being a part of this community is my way out of it on a daily basis. 👊🙏
Really appreciate you getting direct feedback from pros with tons of experience. Counsel like that is important to bettering oneself in being a musician. And of course, being a better phraser and composer of guitar solos will take you so far.
BRUH RC32 I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE i see you legit everywhere i go every day. Doesnt matter if its rick rhett paul Davids samurai guitarists etc etc ive legit seen you comment on so many videos these couple of months/ years now?!
Cool episode. I have been watching Tim Pierce for a long time and I can now often pick out his monster chops from pop tunes that we all know over the last 30 years. Checking the credits... Yep that's Tim. Such an awesome player that reminds me of Steve Lukather in many ways because he can do everything well and really add a lot of interest to a song. I didn't know Corey and I really liked his approach to soloing over these unusual changes. It was fresh, interesting and with a lot of surprises. I'd guess Corey listened to and covered David Gilmour a lot because he takes a similar approach that draws a listener in with theme and melody. Really cool.
What players! It's not only they can do it... it's that they can do it on one take AND zero flubs. AND they can do it under pressure. Their depth of creativity instantly is frigging nuts. Thanks for the video.
I just have to smile and almost laugh when I watch Tim. He is so amazingly good and projects so much joy when he plays. No matter my mood, watching him play just makes me happy.
Corey solo is absolutely fantastic, came back to listen to it countless times! The way it evolve and grow up in intensity, the way it makes the backing tracks shine (that bend on the À major 3rd!!), the sound that cut thru the mix the best way possible (definitely have to try these gold foil pups)... Really blown away! I like Tim very much and have a immense respect for him but he seems off topic here. To my ears at least, he transforms the song into something else. Certainly not what a producer would expect imo.
I enjoy these takes from the pros and thank you Rhett for providing it to us. You and Rick Beato have fundamentally changed my approach to playing and I will definitely check out your new course.
That was cool Rhett, thank you for this. These tips are something special. I've been trying to focus on my leads and finding ways to improve. These two players are phenomenal. Thanks to them as well!!🎸
These type of videos where different guitarists solo over the same backing track are so educational. Solos are like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re going to get.
Amazing and helpful video, I’d love to see a blurb in the corner that tells me gear that I’m hearing. Corey had such amazing tone that to me was very next level for soloing
I've always thought Cory should get more UA-cam attention. I stumbled on his channel a while back while looking for demos for a guitar I was looking at - such a great player. And of course Tim is just a monster.
So much great information in one video. Tim is always a fountain of knowledge & one of the most tasteful guitarists ever. I wasn’t familiar with Corey before this video but I’m heading to his channel as soon as I post this. If what I saw here is any indication of what I’ll find he’s got another subscriber. Great work putting this together Rhett.
Im almost 56. Ive been hobby playing since I was 16. When I grow up I wanna be Tim Pierce. Dude is a freaking legend. And Rhett. ..who are you again? 😉
Thanks Rhett-excellent video! have been watching Corey for a few months now-fantastic teacher and very relatable to my style of playing. Of course Tim is a monster player. the call/response aspect is a very cool approach that while I’ve heard it from the greats, never thought about incorporating…until now!
My doctor has told me Bell’s Palsy has become extremely common since the injections. I pray you recover fully with no lingering complications. Thanks for your lesson Corey. Excellent!
Yeah I was thinking he probably recently got a booster! I’ve been seeing a lot of neurological issues in my clinics since this new poorly tested intervention hit the market. It’s sad!!
So Corey is operating in parallel modes to add interest, he's definitely a music theory first kinda guy, I'm learning theory now and it's honestly an eye opener! There's a guy on UA-cam named Mike George and he lays out theory beautifully, you guys should do a Collab!
I’ve been listening to Tim Pierce since I was a kit, wanting to be as good as the guitarist who laid down those solos for artists like Rick Springfield and Meat Loaf. It’s fantastic to get to hear and see how he puts a solo together. I don’t no Corey’s work as well, but I’m just good enough to understand what he’s doing, or maybe he’s that gifted at explaining his choices. Oh, and all my sympathy for dealing with Bell’s. I had to go through that, and not only was speaking difficult, but eating and drinking was, well, an experience. I hope the pressure eases of on your nerve soon.
I was going to comment on the Dave Gilmour licks by Corey and then he brought it up himself. Leaving space, something Gilmour is a master of. Doubling up a phrase with a slight difference to create something memorable, something Don Felder did really well. How freaking good is Tim Pierce and his Les Paul is gorgeous.
The relative major/minor thing is how I look at it, and it felt good to get some affirmation that Amazing players like you guys do it, too. I’m a long way back on the highway from you guys playing wise but knowing I’m on a good path is 👍
God that was funny bean doing what Tim said the last couple of weeks. of playing soft then smashing it and playing the same parts slightly differently the second time .have no where near the musical knowledge of these guys but it's great fun .cheers for the great Content yet again you knocked it out the park mate
This was interesting, and special in the fact that you opened the opportunities for your friends to showcase over the songs. Perhaps you could let some of the people enrolled submit their attempts and feature them?
When I started trying to play the guitar, music lost a bit for me. Mind you I was 17. Music went from being completely magical to me, free, to Trying to figure out how things are played to get these sounds that made me play some badass air guitar. 😂. 40+ years later it’s Almost back to Magical. Thanks 🤙🤙
Great lesson! A lot of folks seem to have this weird Bell Palsy thing these days…had never heard of it before, kinda scary ! Hope you get better soon! Keep it up with the great lessons !👍🏻
I like watching these videos during my lunch break yoga sesh. The bends really helped me streetttchh it out. Fyi Corey is one of my favorites. Love his solo style so so much. Reminds me of the eagles and yes I wanna learn what his head is thinking! - but I've kinda ran through all his lessons - I wish we could learn his style but outside of blues CHORD progressions - that would help me a lot with what I currently need. I know if I actually absorbed all the theory I could easily translate - but I'm still not there yet. I have out my nose to grindstone for quite a while with guitar and some theory confuses me (the way its taught doesn't connect my heada dots lol)
Great, and just at the right time - Cory reminded me to put a melody in the backing for the big solo in a song we'de been playing for a long time. I say the right time, because we're about to induct a second guitar player in our - thus far - power trio. Looking forward to doing that :D Also, both guys created excellent solos!

Corey, ughh! You took the jabby. Please don't do that again, your playing is way too good to lose you to an easily preventable cause.
Can someone help? When I go to Rhett's homepage and click on shorts, videos pop up.
@@crc238 Still looking to buy a pair...
Thanks for having me, Rhett! Happy to be included with ya and our mentor, Tim!
Get well soon man.
You're the man Corey, thanks again!
Corey, my wife has had bells twice. Not fun at all but don’t sweat it. It won’t last forever. You look great. I wouldn’t have even noticed if you hadn’t mentioned it. Get well soon dude.
Get well soon!😢 you’re a beautiful soul! Love the approach. No substitute for doing the work fleshing out the Chords, and mapping out the bus stops.

Tim Pierce was, is and always will be the absolute authority on being able to make solos like this. Total legend
I made a comment about the above scammer but it was deleted. How crazy is that??? Hope all is well man.
Corey is awesome!!! He plays with such good taste and takes his time.
Tim’s dynamics are what I love about his playing and approach. Glorious.
The best call and response playing I've ever seen is that In Session set with SRV and Albert King. Two masters of their craft having a full conversation through their instruments.
I’m so glad I heard someone like Corey say he likes think of things in major keys, I feel I don’t feel so alone in my laziness now lol
Lol Corey does a killer solo then Tim comes on and just... melts our collective faces. Always such immaculate tone
could not have said it better,,my thoughts also...class acts both o f them
Tim's style is too poppy for my taste. I can appreciate what he's doing though. Cory has that Pink Floyd thing going, but with his own way of doing it. That was insane.
Kudos to Corey for being a trooper and supporting this effort while dealing with his illness. True professional 👍🏻
I love the way Tim set us up with an expected direction and then went a different way. From blues to jazzy sounds he just rocked it!!
Thanks Rhett! Crazy thing…I was just looking at Corey’s classes, having not heard of him before, and now you included him too! Tim is a monster and always a joy to listen and learn from.

Both Tim and Corey are amazing…makes me happy for my recent purchase of one of Corey’s Blues courses. Gonna have to check Tim”s courses out soon
Corey crushed it here. Great player, great teacher - highly recommended. Thanks for that Rhett!

I was just learning the solo to "Good Times Bad Times"
Perfect timing Rhett! Love these type videos, very informative and it helps my playing

Corey is channeling his inner Dave Gilmour there!
for sure!
