- Three tracks left off the Holy Grail of Scum Punk albums - Always Was is and Shall Be. Tracks are "Nuke Attack", "Hope She Holds Her Breath (Cause I'll Never Call)" and "Death Child".
Nuke Attack - 0:00 - Vocals: Rob Basso
I Hope She Holds Her Breath - 2:05 - Vocals: Al Chapple
Death Child - 4:46 - Vocals: Rob Basso
OK Everybody - This is Rob Basso - I wrote & sang BOTH "Nuke Attack" & "Death Child". Alan Chapple wrote & sang "I Hope She Holds Her Breath". I played a Fender Strat into a Hohner Solid State KEYBOARD amp cranked up - no pedals! I played rhythm & lead guitar on these tracks.....Alan Chapple on bass, Bob Mackenzie on drums, John Fortin on second rhythm guitar, OK????
Robert Basso sounds fuking great this gg line up is my favorite .always wondered who played guitar and i would have to say al chapel is a underated bass player everything he plays is is the shit.this is just great music and its cool to here these outtakes
Thanks Alex!!!
Robert Basso nuke attack is a catchy song always liked the gg version.gg kind of turned it into piss on you,do you still play guitar?
Yes!!
Damn you rock man
“Nuke Attack” is such a killer song man! Great job on vocals Rob and your guitar work on Always Was, Is And Always Shall be is very soulful and phenomenal. I’ve played electric guitar for half my life now, but no where as skillful as you sir! Thank you for the music!!!!
Great American punk rock. 🇺🇸
This is real rock n roll!
I got this in vinyl. Absolutely 💯 hidden GEM 💎
These songs aswell as others will be included as a 40th anniversary reissue of Always was, is, and always shall be by blood orange records btw
official edition?
@@marioolave6334 Yes, pressed with the original masters
Right on. I’ve got the Swedish edition... 2nd pressing, I think? Orange cover
Top 3 records of all time
@@Imnottapinata I as well have the original swedish "bootleg" repress, but in reality its an entirely legit copy, plans have been pushed back for this release due to the pandemic, it was actually supposed to be released a few months back
Carmine234 yeah, not a boot from my understanding...official release for the euro distro
one of my favorite punk albums of all time
If you played this for someone that had no knowledge of his early stuff, they probably wouldn't even believe this was him!!
Never heard the studio of I’ll never call.
Can someone show me where i can download these songs individually.
was the guitarist trying to play The Beatles Michelle at 2:03? yup. nice touch
Wow!Just when i thought i exhausted all their material.Who knows what gear they used?
im getting the record "kiss me in the gutter" mailed from germany soon so i should have FURY AND FIRE and ISOLATION finally posted on youtube, the only two i havent heard i think....besides this video it rox
Rob Basso said he used a Fender Stratocaster plugged into a Hohner Solid State Keyboard amp with no pedals.
So Kevin didn’t even handle the drums on these tracks ?
Any GG backing vocals on these tracks ?? I don’t hear any...
Rob,
Can you please elaborate as to why these great 3 songs were left off the “Always Was, Is & Always Shall Be” (1980) Album ???
Thank you!!
Jarrett Gardner Bob Mackenzie played drums (on some at least) on the album-exclusive songs. Recordings used from the previously issued 45s would be GG on drums. The latter half I would assume are all Bob, since they should or would have likely been all from the same sessions. The
@@frillwhistlebell The ONLY track Bob MacKenzie played drums on, was, "Don't Talk To Me", because he cowrote that one with the guy who played bass on that one song, whose name I think is Carl Square. GG's playing drums on all the rest.
Uhhh... Can I get this on vinyl plz?
Rest In Poo
Why is there a pic of GG when death child is sung by Rob?
Why the hell were these songs left off? The original album isn't even a half hour- Hell, it's less than 25 minutes! Not like there wasn't enough room on the LP!
Probably because they took attention away from "lead singer"
GG's ego & would have interfered with the David Essex style album cover.
I assume it's like how before release, GG scrubbed the mention of the jabbers from the cover, signed mostly all of the copies, and supposedly turning up his vocals in the mix, to get more attention to him
GG had these songs removed, replaced them with tracks from his previous EP, and changed the cover from a group shot to his boy band pose one - all without the band knowing until the album was released.
Wow he was roght here we go again ....
This has a rockabilly vibe he could've been really good if he treated it more seriously
I swear I see you everywhere on a lot of punk related videos.
wheres gg
Is he drumming it?
Yes. {When these songs were done onstage, he'd disappear, lay on floor behind an amp or something & have a beer.} This lineup of Jabbers KICKED ASS with or without GG. Rob Basso was one of the most amazing performers i've ever seen, and believe me, it was hard to decide whether to keep your eyes on him or GG when they were together. Electrifying. GG with the Jabbers was Something to see & hear - and that's an understatement.
Shitting in your van
These songs are killer! Really too bad these didn't make the album. (I mean, these didn't make the cut but "1980s Rock & Roll" did! That's the worst Jabbers-era song!).
@Brandon Hendrix I agree Nuke Attack should of replaced 80's Rock n Roll
Dats da best bitch
So bad, but it cracks me up every time I hear it!
