Come to Ghent, it is way more authentic and less touristic (not like a museum in real life). It has a younger atmosphere and nicer shops/cafés. Definitely worth it to visit!
So sorry for what you saw in Calais.... France is getting mad, I'm so sad to look at my country being broken and not being able to do anything..
Anyway, hope you'll enjoy Belgium 🇧🇪
