An open letter from the MEOKO community ..
I consider myself first and foremost a human living on Planet Earth.
Cultures are what makes our world a beautiful diverse place to be in. It's what has sparked humanity's most significant developments, when people from all around the world came together with their different experiences and created something more meaningful than they would have ever done on their own.
In the end, it is a lesson for us all. Even if our today's technologies unconsciously push us to put ourselves first, we need to remember that our collaborative force is the most diverse, strongest and meaningful.
In a world where divide and conquer is still a custom practice, it is more important than ever for all of us to realise the significance of finding common grounds between one another. It is so easy to find aspects that differentiate us, but this only gets us dividing ourselves even more.
Within the prospects of humanity working together to achieve a better future for ourselves and for all the future generations, coming together is our only chance.
These days we're witnessing a wrong interpretation of human greatness and ideals to live by. We're seeing the sharp sword of belonging in spite of dominating others. We're seeing humans thinking more about the borders they were born Iin rather than the planet they were born on. The only Planet humans have ever been able to live on so far.
And the only Planet for a while to come from now on, a timeframe that goes further away from us each time we create conflicts between ourselves.
Passion for music is what has united us and will continue to do so. But as humans we all need and want love, kindness, peace, understanding, freedom... These are values democratic structures have been trying to promote. And so far they've been the ones to achieve them the most. And have helped us immensely as artists. And have been able to keep most of this planet a peaceful thriving place.
We need to find a way to be all brothers and sisters in this world, regardless of skin tone, nationality, language and beliefs.
In a world where nuclear capacities can wipe out all of humanity within minutes, we must find a way.
This Planet has seen enough suffering. The choice is in all of our hands. Nothing we get to "own" is going to be forever ours because the only certainty of this life is death. So why would we still strive to own more possessions, why would we still want to "own" more land? The truth is nothing is ours forever.
This conscious life is a blessing, especially for us born in these times where life quality has been immensely improved through scientifical discoveries.
And it could get even better. We have so many goals to reach together as humanity. We need to improve the life quality of all of us, prevent climate change and go out into the Universe. Explore, discover, improve.
Let's set an example through the way we think and act. It is my responsibility but it is also your responsibility. In truth, it is all our individual responsibilities together. No one will have all the answers and no one will act for us. We are the only ones that can save ourselves. And we must try our best in doing so.
The change starts with us.
