I like the way Will doesn't get into an argument with the people he is interviewing but listens patiently as this encourages people to actually have conversations about these kinds of topics without things getting tense or escalated. Thank you, Will.
Being born in this country is a huge privilege. Even our homeless often have cell phones, backpacks, clothes, and food. Even though I am well below poverty level, I make enough to live on, tithe to my church, and to give food to homeless people.

I'm a white man who graduated fifth out of 325 students in my senior class of high school back in 1979. I had minority friends who got full-ride scholarships. My volunteerism, extra-curricular activities, and academics were superior to those friends but I did not get a full-ride scholarship. I wasn't thinking of it in such terms at the time, but now that I look back, I can see that I was a victim of minority privilege. Minority privilege is systemic.
It sounds like you're a recent graduate. Back in 1979 this had not been going on for very long. We were told that one race needed to catch up with the other. There was no sunset provision and it was not defined how long it would take to "catch up '. Generally, a generation is considered to be about 20 years. It's been 42 years since I graduated and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight for this "catch up" period.
Back in the mid 70's, at my dad's funeral, I was talking to one of the guys my dad worked with and asked about getting a job there (a baby Bell). He said he would love to hire me but I was the wrong color and sex. That discrimination sword swings both ways.
Having had a father IS a privilege who stayed in the family as a provider no matter how much you hated him. And that father if he tried to teach his children something good that's a cherry on top.
No having a father isn't a privilege having the state take over the role of a father is a hinderance. The welfare state has made having a father seem like a privilege. The problem is people not being responsible or taking responsibility for their lives and choices.

Right here. We moved 5 times in 7 years and I started working summers on a farm $20 a week plus room and board. I had to do everything the grown men did and then some.

Let's see. I'm a product of a divorced household. Grew up with a strict and sometimes abusive father who's only concern was his social life. At times no food in the house. Eventually our home life turned around. Then when I went out on my own, I married, got divorced, and moved across country. Subsisted on tuna sandwiches and ramen noodles. Eventually moved back to my home state, found solid work, now have a 6 figure salary. What part of my life story was influenced by the color of my skin.

75% of my college students were black when I taught. 100% of them had laptops. In fact it became problematic in school because they were doing other things besides following the lectures.
Oh yeah My school provides laptops for everyone enrolled and when I look around throughout all of the classes in my day I notice a lot more of the colored people are playing some browser game during lectures in comparison to their white counterparts...

SOCIOECONOMIC privileges is what I have been saying my entire life. I was raised without much and did NOT have a computer when I was in high school even though my peers all did. I did not have the internet even though our teachers expected it. (I'm old but not that old. I graduated in 2001 and we definitely had internet available.) But even then there were ways to go to the library or access things at school. It was harder. I worked a lot in high school to help pay for things. BUT I was still able to find my way through the world and make a better future for myself. I was denied many scholarships because I was white. I was kept from jobs because I was not hispanic (or Latino or Latin X or whatever the name for it is now, in Tucson it was just Mexican when I was growing up). And I had issues with low income schooling, with low expectations. I worked my butt off to test into a local school that had much better outcomes and I fought through my 4 years amongst many high income people from all different backgrounds. But I am stronger than many of my peers who never went through any of that. Am I better than them? No. But I didn't come from some perfect white picket fence, two parents, no abuse, etc that is often believed to be what white people are given while all other races (except the Asian population for some reason?) are being forced into horrible situations and have no way to overcome them. Its very frustrating as a white who has had to fight for the American dream. Exactly what the American dream is all about in the first place.
I can tell you, that most of the lefts excuse to use white privilege as a bludgeon is cause of something that happened over 150 years ago. In theory they are using something that happened over a century ago to be racist to white people. But I can tell you the lot of them who use the term white privilege. Are rich well off minorities. Some others are ones who don’t want to better themselves and expect others to do the work for them while they reap the benefits of said labor...I.e.-socialists.
@Akshay 14 Stay strong Akshay. Do you have a mental health resources locally? I am not sure how medical system works in America, but in some countries you can get the free mental health care plan with free psychologist appointments with your doctor. Personally what I've found most helpful is getting a higher education, taking interest in reading - Spending a lot of time reading and in the library - Basically educating myself about anything, everything practical possible to survive in society. And most importantly! Having a faith relationship with Jesus and God! Going to church, yes - Faith UA-cam channels - Prayer life, etc - Gets me through personally! :) Fitness/exercise and sunshine also. Stay strong :)
@Akshay 14 controlling your mind from negative thinking is not easy and it’s a process but so possible so please don’t give up just yet. Try using positive distractions. Like the previous person said, try reading the Bible, or books in general about topics that interest you, go outside and just look at nature, spend time with animals, read a book to some children, bake or cook something you found a recipe for online, paint your nails, get some Sun everyday to soak up vitamin d, exercise to release some feel good endorphins, PRAY for help in your situation, paint, draw, experiment with different essential oils for anxiety/depression, etc. please hold on and give yourself credit for every second, minute or hour that you make it. You’ll appreciate the process so much more. Praying for you!! 🙏

I'd still be skeptical with him though. This was a very good episode but, in comparison, in the episode on government spending he was pulling the classic misinformation maneuver of wording things in a certain way + keeping vague in order to fit his narrative of making government spending look ridiculous.
Really the key difference here is that he wasn't actually pulling up any facts himself, just gathering opinions of others and using common examples as well as first hand accounts from others (the Mexican camera man).

When I was getting close to finishing High School, I went through the bursary and scholarship book in the Guidance department looking for some to apply for. The binder of the scholarships was 3 inches thick. Over 95% of them were for "non-white" people. I maybe found 12 I could apply for, out of hundreds.

I was asked by my two white neighbor’s if my kids had laptops for home school twice. The second time I got upset and told the yes they do. We have 4, 2 iPads and we all have iPhones plus paid cash for my house. They don’t talk to me anymore.
I'm pretty white and have never seen any white privilege. I must have missed it. My family just have missed it too when they were fleeing Italy with nothing and dying from starvation because they couldn't afford food in Ireland.
The British didn't actually see the Irish as equal whites, they saw them as inferior because of they're slightly pastier skin tone. As ridiculous as it sounds the British did discriminate the Irish based on race.

Being raised in a stable two-parent household is absolutely a privilege, but proportionally, way more single-parent homes are black. That's what white privilege means, you're much more likely to be born into better circumstances than a black person.
Even if you think he’s good (I enjoy his interviews) you have to admit that he does inflict his opinions. Ami Horowitz does the same sort of videos and he inflicts his opinions a bit less but he still does too (you should check him out, you’ve probably seen him on the prager u or daily wire channel already). True journalists who can genuinely write neutraal pieces and not incorporate their opinions into their work are certainly rare, but they are also certainly still out there.
Well, if you listen closely to his other videos, in many of those, by the end of the video, he says, "did you learn anything new today?" Wouldn't make any sense other than him "inflicting his opinion" - yeah, those might be facts, but he never gives sources or references. I like his videos though.
Asking pointed questions after they’ve given their own thoughts and opinions is the whole point. Not telling them what they must think, but perhaps getting them to look at at from another angle to get more perspective. They may change their minds ... or not. But if they’re wrong, then hopefully they do change their minds!
My white privilege is so substantial that I'm working on Saturday after an already 50 hour week, in the sun, working on ac units so others can be comfortable. Hell yeah! I got it made!!!

The best thing I took away from that encounter was that Will made him think. Even if he eventually fell back on programmed rhetoric, we all knew he had to think for a moment right before that.

An old navy buddy of mine, who is black, was going off about white privilege and I said to him "If I had so much more privilege than you, how the hell did you and I end-up sweating our asses-off in the same sweltering engine room on the same ship in the same navy at the same time at the same age? He didn't have a reply.
I have white privilege. When I got falsely arrested and accused for something I did not do, no one convinced me I was a victim and that the system was against me. My life would be different if I was taught it happened because of my race. Because I'm white, no one cared. No one tried to profit off my suffering. We are privledged in that we don't have race hustlers lying to us about racism, oppression, and telling us we are victims. If the same thing happened to a black man, he would be a victim. That's sad, we need to teach our children to be warriors, not victims. Love you guys!
My first job was working at a car wash. I was in high school at the time. I worked 9 hours with one 15 minute break to eat lunch. The section l worked was hot and swampy all day. There were people in their 40s and 50s working there that were vacuuming and drying cars all day. That job taught me to take education and life seriously. I am successful now because of that first job. Everyone should have a "first crappy job".

I sat through a webinar recently where a POC said they are being discriminated against in the workplace and listed a bunch examples like backstabbing, bullying, bringing up ideas but they are ignored until a White man stands up and says the same thing and claims it as his own, feeling overworked and underpaid, etc. The ultimate was when they said they are being given extra work not on their job description but are not being paid for it. ??? Um...you're receiving a paycheck aren't you? You're being paid for it! NEWSFLASH! All of my job descriptions have always had a line that says "Other duties as assigned." And I have experienced everything that POC listed...and I'm White! It's equally unfair...across the board...no discrimination! So I was thinking...so what you are saying is you want special treatment? But then they later say...they don't want special treatment. ??? Maybe if POCs would come out of their affinity groups and safe spaces to talk to us lowly White people, they would find out these things. Being White isn't all peaches and sunshine. Black people can do and say what they want and get a pass but White people don't get that privilege and have to deal with Black "Karens" who cry racism if you don't give them exactly what they want or kiss their butts. I didn't realise as I grew up in 1970s recessionary Ireland I was privelaged. I really should have known. The signs were everywhere. Unemployment, poverty and sadness.
Two people were up for promotions. Myself and my BLACK co-worker. He got the job. I tried using my white privledge card, didn't seem to work. PS: That dude that thought white privledge was ridiculous will be infinitely more successful in life because he doesn't let skin color get in his way.

I think life is far too complicated to label a certain group of people as being privileged. Even if you can show that one group is statistically better off than another group, that doesn’t mean that everyone in the group is doing well. There are too many factors and nuances to consider.
To be honest, most of these people when pushed just started talking about the issues in more detail. I didn’t really find any of them to be hard right/left. It was encouraging.
My daughter couldn’t get pell grants for school because she is white. Yeah we are so privileged she had to take out loans where her two black friends from high school got pell grants and housing.
Some people become successful because of their hard work, connections, making the right decisions, got lucky and won the lottery ticket, and some may have special talents 🤔
Why are we comparing and describing every outcome based only and exclusively based on skin color? Why not eye color? Why not height? Why not what city you are from? By comparing multiple outcomes based on 1 input you are creating many statistical errors. "If you are 6'8 and you don't play in the NBA you are oppressed?" "If you are 150+ IQ and you don't go to Ivy League school, you are oppressed?" "If you are a minority and you make under $35k/year, you are oppressed?" What about a straight white male that makes $25k/year? Oppression? Where are the statisticians on this? It makes literally no mathematical sense yet people just keep doing endless polls and meaningless stats.

I remember I was like 22 and a 18 year old girl came to work in the company I was working for. She was really really pretty. She had humble origins and all of a sudden... fancy stuff.. perfumes.... and a car... then I learned she was dating one top manager who was a very short and fat (big belly). He gave her a nice home and then she kicked him out.
I am a straight white male that grew up in the 70's and 80's. The privilege i had as a child was to mow lawns bale hay and work for everything I had including my first real bicycle. Then as a young adult I had an opportunity to get a job and I took it , at that job I had the opportunity to work hard and lead and I took that as well. I have struggled with addiction for my entire adult life most likely from the abuse I took as a child from an irish alcoholic step father and somehow I managed to raise two beautiful children and I was a success as a father and in my work. I also struggled with crippling anxiety and depression. Someone needs to tell me where the white privilege is in that story cuz I'm. Missing it.
Most every one of these people are just repeating what they've heard from their leftist professors and msm instead of actually learning or even just looking around and seeing the truth! It's sad and pathetic that we are funding this idiocy in schools. Being born in this country is a huge privilege. Even our homeless often have cell phones, backpacks, clothes, and food. Even though I am well below poverty level, I make enough to live on, tithe to my church, and to give food to homeless people.

I'm a white man who graduated fifth out of 325 students in my senior class of high school back in 1979. I had minority friends who got full-ride scholarships. My volunteerism, extra-curricular activities, and academics were superior to those friends but I did not get a full-ride scholarship. I wasn't thinking of it in such terms at the time, but now that I look back, I can see that I was a victim of minority privilege. Minority privilege is systemic.
It sounds like you're a recent graduate. Back in 1979 this had not been going on for very long. We were told that one race needed to catch up with the other. There was no sunset provision and it was not defined how long it would take to "catch up '. Generally, a generation is considered to be about 20 years. It's been 42 years since I graduated and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight for this "catch up" period.

Let's see. I'm a product of a divorced household. Grew up with a strict and sometimes abusive father who's only concern was his social life. At times no food in the house. Eventually our home life turned around. Then when I went out on my own, I married, got divorced, and moved across country. Subsisted on tuna sandwiches and ramen noodles. Eventually moved back to my home state, found solid work, now have a 6 figure salary. What part of my life story was influenced by the color of my skin.

75% of my college students were black when I taught. 100% of them had laptops. In fact it became problematic in school because they were doing other things besides following the lectures.

SOCIOECONOMIC privileges is what I have been saying my entire life. I was raised without much and did NOT have a computer when I was in high school even though my peers all did. I did not have the internet even though our teachers expected it. (I'm old but not that old. I graduated in 2001 and we definitely had internet available.) But even then there were ways to go to the library or access things at school. It was harder. I worked a lot in high school to help pay for things. BUT I was still able to find my way through the world and make a better future for myself. I was denied many scholarships because I was white. I was kept from jobs because I was not hispanic (or Latino or Latin X or whatever the name for it is now, in Tucson it was just Mexican when I was growing up). And I had issues with low income schooling, with low expectations. I worked my butt off to test into a local school that had much better outcomes and I fought through my 4 years amongst many high income people from all different backgrounds. But I am stronger than many of my peers who never went through any of that. Am I better than them? No. But I didn't come from some perfect white picket fence, two parents, no abuse, etc that is often believed to be what white people are given while all other races (except the Asian population for some reason?) are being forced into horrible situations and have no way to overcome them. Its very frustrating as a white who has had to fight for the American dream. Exactly what the American dream is all about in the first place.
I can tell you, that most of the lefts excuse to use white privilege as a bludgeon is cause of something that happened over 150 years ago.

@Akshay 14 Stay strong Akshay. Do you have a mental health resources locally? I am not sure how medical system works in America, but in some countries you can get the free mental health care plan with free psychologist appointments with your doctor.
Personally what I've found most helpful is getting a higher education, taking interest in reading - Spending a lot of time reading and in the library - Basically educating myself about anything, everything practical possible to survive in society.
And most importantly! Having a faith relationship with Jesus and God! Going to church, yes - Faith UA-cam channels - Prayer life, etc - Gets me through personally! :)

Like the previous person said, try reading the Bible, or books in general about topics that interest you, go outside and just look at nature, spend time with animals, read a book to some children, bake or cook something you found a recipe for online, paint your nails, get some Sun everyday to soak up vitamin d, exercise to release some feel good endorphins, PRAY for help in your situation, paint, draw, experiment with different essential oils for anxiety/depression, etc. please hold on and give yourself credit for every second, minute or hour that you make it. When I was getting close to finishing High School, I went through the bursary and scholarship book in the Guidance department looking for some to apply for.

I was asked by my two white neighbor’s if my kids had laptops for home school twice. The second time I got upset and told the yes they do. We have 4, 2 iPads and we all have iPhones plus paid cash for my house. They don’t talk to me anymore.
I'm pretty white and have never seen any white privilege. I must have missed it. My family just have missed it too when they were fleeing Italy with nothing and dying from starvation because they couldn't afford food in Ireland.
The British didn't actually see the Irish as equal whites, they saw them as inferior because of they're slightly pastier skin tone. As ridiculous as it sounds the British did discriminate the Irish based on race.

Being raised in a stable two-parent household is absolutely a privilege, but proportionally, way more single-parent homes are black. That's what white privilege means, you're much more likely to be born into better circumstances than a black person.

Even if you think he’s good (I enjoy his interviews) you have to admit that he does inflict his opinions. Ami Horowitz does the same sort of videos and he inflicts his opinions a bit less but he still does too (you should check him out, you’ve probably seen him on the prager u or daily wire channel already). True journalists who can genuinely write neutraal pieces and not incorporate their opinions into their work are certainly rare, but they are also certainly still out there.

Well, if you listen closely to his other videos, in many of those, by the end of the video, he says, "did you learn anything new today?" Wouldn't make any sense other than him "inflicting his opinion" - yeah, those might be facts, but he never gives sources or references. I like his videos though.
Asking pointed questions after they’ve given their own thoughts and opinions is the whole point. Not telling them what they must think, but perhaps getting them to look at at from another angle to get more perspective. They may change their minds ... or not. But if they’re wrong, then hopefully they do change their minds!

I have white privilege. When I got falsely arrested and accused for something I did not do, no one convinced me I was a victim and that the system was against me. My life would be different if I was taught it happened because of my race. Because I'm white, no one cared. No one tried to profit off my suffering. We are privledged in that we don't have race hustlers lying to us about racism, oppression, and telling us we are victims.
If the same thing happened to a black man, he would be a victim. That's sad, we need to teach our children to be warriors, not victims.

My first job was working at a car wash. I was in high school at the time. I worked 9 hours with one 15 minute break to eat lunch. The section l worked was hot and swampy all day. There were people in their 40s and 50s working there that were vacuuming and drying cars all day. That job taught me to take education and life seriously. I am successful now because of that first job. Everyone should have a "first crappy job".

My great-grandparents, all of them immigrants, faced basically no problems out in rural america.
I sat through a webinar recently where a POC said they are being discriminated against in the workplace and listed a bunch examples like backstabbing, bullying, bringing up ideas but they are ignored until a White man stands up and says the same thing and claims it as his own, feeling overworked and underpaid, etc. The ultimate was when they said they are being given extra work not on their job description but are not being paid for it. ??? Um...you're receiving a paycheck aren't you? You're being paid for it! NEWSFLASH! All of my job descriptions have always had a line that says "Other duties as assigned." And I have experienced everything that POC listed...and I'm White! It's equally unfair...across the board...no discrimination! So I was thinking...so what you are saying is you want special treatment? But then they later say...they don't want special treatment. ??? Maybe if POCs would come out of their affinity groups and safe spaces to talk to us lowly White people, they would find out these things. Being White isn't all peaches and sunshine. Black people can do and say what they want and get a pass but White people don't get that privilege and have to deal with Black "Karens" who cry racism if you don't give them exactly what they want or kiss their butts. I think life is far too complicated to label a certain group of people as being privileged. Even if you can show that one group is statistically better off than another group, that doesn’t mean that everyone in the group is doing well. There are too many factors and nuances to consider.
They do the same thing with the gender wage gap. They go by annual salary only. Not actual rate of pay pay. Someone is behind both narratives.

I remember I was like 22 and a 18 year old girl came to work in the company I was working for. She was really really pretty. She had humble origins and all of a sudden... fancy stuff.. perfumes.... and a car... then I learned she was dating one top manager who was a very short and fat (big belly). He gave her a nice home and then she kicked him out.
I am a straight white male that grew up in the 70's and 80's. The privilege i had as a child was to mow lawns bale hay and work for everything I had including my first real bicycle. Then as a young adult I had an opportunity to get a job and I took it , at that job I had the opportunity to work hard and lead and I took that as well. I have struggled with addiction for my entire adult life most likely from the abuse I took as a child from an irish alcoholic step father and somehow I managed to raise two beautiful children and I was a success as a father and in my work. I also struggled with crippling anxiety and depression. Someone needs to tell me where the white privilege is in that story cuz I'm. Missing it.
