What sets your channel apart is the fact that you go back and show the systems working after installation. This is the critical piece of the story that virtually every other channel leaves out. Keep up the informative work.
You make your work look so easy. It’s great that you’ve found your calling and doing such a great job. Wish you worked near me in DFW! I would definitely call on you first. Keep it up man.
Thanks! Having great help and equipment makes things go much more smoothly. I was near DFW mountain biking at Grapevine/Northshore last Dec. Great trails.
What an amazing story, Shawn. When I watch a video with you using a piece of equipment, it never occurs to me what hassles you go through to acquire and maintain your gear.
Mr NitPicky here; that truck should have driven away and the load dropped right there. Backing up that skidsteer with that load was pure sketch. Love the channel, nice to see the new equipment coming on board. I"m sure your employees are ecstatic.
You definitely get the appropriate equipment to do work without tiring your workers which make them more productive and efficient since they get to know the machines. You may want to check out what types of machines are available in Japan as they have to accommodate tight and small spaces constantly. Cheers
When I started the company I decided that I wanted to pay skilled help to run equipment instead of unskilled help to dig trenches by hand. I have no problem purchasing equipment to make the job easier.
Thank you Brian! 2.5 months ago (dec 1) I had 350 subs, so it's been growing pretty fast very recently. It's been exciting for me that people actually find my work useful.
I’ve wanted one of these for years now. The one I used in the past had the swivel bucket. I think the extra couple of thousand make the extra investment so worth it. You can travel along the edge of the trench dumping the drainage rock. Still, nice investment and I’m jelly 🤣🤣👍👍
Yes! I ask my guys after every job..."What did we need that we didn't have?" When I started the business my model was to use high quality labor with quality equipment instead of cheap labor that I hand a shovel.
Nice machine. I have exactly same one. The only problem with this model is Subaru engine. It likes to throw connecting rod thru the block when fully loaded and full throttle. This is why Canycom switched to Honda GX 690 engines couple years ago. Superior engines. Otherwise great machine.
Ive always had great success with the Lucas oil additive in my older vehicles, Wonder if a "touch" of it would be of benefit with this, as being an extra layer etc since running high Rpm's.
A couple suggestions...have a mechanical once-over inspection, lubrication and oil / plug change. And ask the police the frequency of this equipment being stolen. If it's high, consider a having a tracking device installed.
I think the reason so many equipment companies seem shady is because they deal with so many people calling and asking for things and never following through. So in turn they wind up giving that level of service to actual customers.
I agree that owning both is somewhat redundant. The mini skid weighs 3000 lbs and can carry 850 lbs. It also requires an equipment trailer to pull. The buggy weighs 1500 lbs and can carry 1650 lbs and can be hauled on a single axle trailer. It's also much, much faster to run loads and is easier to load with the excavator.
A lot of people with ads that dont reply.. So werid isnt it? same deal around here with contractors. Congrats on the buggy. definitely make things easier for you guys.
Yeah mini skid with dump hopper attachment if you can’t find a large enough bucket, plus you can get other attachments in the future like auger, grapple
Whats a wire Transfer ? We have bank transfer here in Australia . So much easier by the sounds of it . The transfer can be immediate or at least during Business hours 9-5 if done after banking closes . not that you need them . The online page just has text number confirmation sent to your mobile , to confirm it !
Yeah, UK - Login to your online banking anytime day or night and do a bank transfer to the other person's bank/account numbers. Goes through immediately. Costs nothing.
It's the same as a transfer. You need all the bank info that it's going to. It was a pain for me because the bank's system was acting up and I didn't have a transfer agreement on file for that account.
Haha Jim - I bought that guy a few months ago. Check my video on installing a riprap channel ua-cam.com/video/pwCTHgEJdUw/v-deo.html I bought that skid for that job and have used it a few more times. I have footage for a "buying a skid" video but haven't gotten too far with it yet...
@@GCFD thanks for the video’s. I’ve learned a lot, found where I’ve personally made mistakes putting in my own system (which explains some things). I’ll be taking what you have shown me and apply it to my home and solve probably 99% of my issues, and my neighbors to. They will be delighted bc their basement floods bc of water that runs off my property.
That is disgraceful customer service if it taking the business so long to answer or reply to you. And yet you still ended up getting the buggy. If it was me, I would have gone else where and say 'screw you jack'.
lol, that's not the half of it. I got called back by one of the salesmen. I don't know how the heck they found the video! Overall I was very happy with how everything turned out and left them a nice google review too.
I was really hoping to get one that pivots, the SC75PD. This one was just so much cheaper than anything that pivoted, plus I wanted to get one quickly. I'm still looking and may very well replace this straight dump with a pivot.
That salesman sounds pretty unprofessional, if your recollection of the sale is correct. It's nice of them to sell you a dirty machine. I mean, they could of at least, gave it a rinse. Maybe it was on rental, that could explain the grime
Man, don't remind me! I searched high and low for a Pivot but couldn't find one for a decent price. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a second buggy, but it has to pivot.
That's what I was thinking too. I forgot to mention that there are lots of the canycoms for sale used but very very few of the allen or toro. I just worry about parts availability.

I agree! Seeing the system work seems like the most important part of the video.
Meeting your workers needs to make the jobsite more productive is the sign of a great leader and smart businessman. Great idea
At the end of every job I ask them what they needed that we don't have, so I can get it for the next job.
A lot of uploads recently, love your workmanship and the job you do!
Yea! It's been raining here so nothing to do but get video during the rain and upload!

I'm not sure why it was sketchy? That's how they loaded the buggy on the truck and when I posted the load I indicated I had a forklift on site.

Great advice! I don't have any tracking on any of my equipment but I've definitely thought about it. I have everything insured at least.
Happy workers are productive workers.....this will make them happy
I agree! 👍
I think the reason so many equipment companies seem shady is because they deal with so many people calling and asking for things and never following through. So in turn they wind up giving that level of service to actual customers.
Love your work. Why don't you just use the mini skid steer carry the dirt to the truck?
I agree that owning both is somewhat redundant. The mini skid weighs 3000 lbs and can carry 850 lbs. It also requires an equipment trailer to pull. This is SHAWN I love how you say that. Best channel.
Thanks for your support Ray! I'm glad you're enjoying the channel!
articulating front end loader. the small size ones. turf tires and all the attachments that buggy cant do crap with.
We get into too much mud for wheels. Gotta have tracks!
So, women have handbags, shoes, etc...Shawn has construction vehicles! We all have our thing we must have 🤭
Hahah Tracy. And I have mountain bikes (:
Great! That’s what I’m talking about... keep em coming.
Thanks Jim!
this sounds more like a reply to your wife’s question “why do we need this 🙄” 😂😂
I should have bought that a long time ago. It turns a 4 man job into a 2 man all day.
Just purchased one too, where do you find parts for it?
I have not had very good luck finding parts so far. Call an ihi dealer.
A lot of people with ads that dont reply.. So werid isnt it? same deal around here with contractors. Congrats on the buggy. definitely make things easier for you guys.
The problem is the other buggy was a pivot and mine is a straight dump.
What site did you use to find the buggies?
machinerytrader I think.
i will say that buggy will save you a lot of time and back braking work
That's the hope! Ronald already loves it.
the toro mud buggy is such a better design. Better controls, and you can get them where the tub is mounted on a turntable so it can dump off the side
I thought about it for sure. The controls are more complicated and everyone was familiar with the canycom. Part availability is way better with toro.
@@GCFD i personally prefer the toro controls but being i run alot of stand on mowers its the control setup. just preference.
Why don't you use your mini skidsteer for this same job? Blue diamond makes a 1/2 yard bucket. It can load itself and dump in your dump truck.
Send me a link
Yeah mini skid with dump hopper attachment if you can’t find a large enough bucket, plus you can get other attachments in the future like auger, grapple
Nice that you need more efficient tools to do your job.
Yes. I ask the guys after every job...what do you need from me to make the job easier?
u wana sell it now?
I curious, what was the reason you decided against the Allen? It looked like it would have been the most versatile of the bunch.
It has a ton of controls and the cany seemed more simple to operate.
@@GCFD Fair enough. Thanks for the answer. :)
Are you looking for a tag along dump trailer or a gooseneck?
Tag - bumperp pull
@@GCFD check out Rumley Enterprises in Brown Summit and see if they have any. He usually has a lot and they are good people.
What size is the trailer you're hauling the buggy on?
I use a 5x9 and a 5x10 to haul it when it's not on a bigger trailer with other equipment.

Wheelbarrow on steroids
Majorly! I talked to Ronald today and he was still impressed with the buggy and how fast it is.
Check out powered wheelbarrows. Might be better suited to a residential environment.
Yes I've looked at those. I might get a couple as they've been on my radar.
I like everything about this mud buggy but the way it drives and stir it's very uncomfortable
We love that thing!
What’s the story with the new Cat skid steer?
Haha Jim - I bought that guy a few months ago. Check my video on installing a riprap channel ua-cam.com/video/pwCTHgEJdUw/v-deo.html
I bought that skid for that job and have used it a few more times. I have footage for a "buying a skid" video but haven't gotten too far with it yet...
i live 20minutes from where u bought this from
haha Nice!
Going to save you a lot of time, manpower and money
I think so too! I wish I had found one with the pivot dump.

Look at modifying your dump truck back so it can dump directly into this machine.
Good call! I will look into it.
So interesting

there are buggys that have rotating body with tracks

Check decibel noise level your boys may need earmuffs while using it
It's 107 db. We usually hang hearing protection on all the equipment and we will do the same on this.

It's nice of them to sell you a dirty machine. I mean, they could of at least, gave it a rinse. Maybe it was on rental, that could explain the grime
The sale was a little bit bumpy but overall very good. He even called me back this week to make sure I was happy with the unit.
@@GCFD that is good to hear. I'm glad all is well!
Make sure you completely check over your loader that buying was sus
This has been a great machine so far!
Its a Georgia buggy!
👍 It was love at first sight for me
