I just restored the same exact bike. The bike was rusted to hell as well. I started with a bath is citric acid and then neutralized and then went over it with a 0000 scouring pad. The bike came out mint, the seat is shot out, similiar to the one you restored. I bought a new seat from Ebay and flipped the bike for $180. My current project is a 1987 Haro Group 1 RS3. This project was a come up. I bought the frame in great condition with the forks, group 1 stem and the seat post for $150, no dings just needs new paint. Im in a current mission trying to find a near perfect group 1 handlebar. The rest is easy peasy.
My first sick bike my pops bought me when I was around 8 it was so big for me but I was racing pee wee motocross at the age of 4 so the big ole bike was no thang once I got it rolling lol. Pops had to put the seat down so low the goose neck was bottomed out as low as it could go.. good times I’m 31 now lol.
I sold this to one of my regular customer for $80, priced at $90. The prices varies depending on demand and condition of course. In perfect condition as you mentioned, in my state and per my bike selling experience, a fair amount would be a $100.
i got one of these new on clearance for 70 bucks at toys r us year ago. a return. had just a few things needed to be tightened etc. i sold it for 100 in new condition many years ago. i bought it but i had a few bmx bikes. i bought it and sold it to a friend and made a bit of money for tuning it up.
Bike Biz was a good biz for me. I don't do it any more. I did for 9 years. I got burned out. I even sold my custom built bike. Now I'm more into shaping and surfing.
yep. i am 44 and i still ride bmx and make fun bmx videos on youtube. i am a snowboarder on mt hood. and i do all kinds of wild extreme sports videos and martial arts videos. guns. survival. nature hiking. camping. archery. all kinds of stuff. i do old school flatland and i have raced some. and do street. i got 20 or 30 bmx videos on my youtube from 2005 to last year. showing parks and street and flat type riding. if you care to check it out. search in the youtube search. bmx time traveler or bmx of the illuminati. if your bored. short fun edits.
That's what I'm actually riding lately. 20" bmx. Makes me stronger, easy to park/lock and lots of fun urban assaulting in my vicinity. I have other low ends bikes that I cruise or fire road ride. But I don't have a good pro mtb at the moment. I want to get the Scott Scale. When things get better obviously. I'll check your channel.
Just bought one for 25.. Had to drive a hr. But worth it.. Every things original form handle grips to chain.. I mean chain is rusty,but everything else looks like yours dose after you restored it...🤡👍
nice! I check ebay periodically for that exact bike. I bought mine new around 98-99. many many miles on that thing. was my first taste of independence. step-dad ran it over and scrapped it. Probably on purpose. he's still a sad little man.

They are pretty solid. I sold it to a collector. I restored bikes, then sell them as a hobby. So far I have worked in about 850 to 1k bikes.
