@@Me-mw8ru great question! It does depend on the area and the individual buck! There are different types of grunts, if you see a buck you can give a single grunt to get their attention and if he’s interested he’ll likely come… If there is absolutely zero rut action it will be difficult to Blind Grunt. But you can still do it but would need to be the correct set up and less aggressive calling.
@ for sure! Usually there is a “second rut” for younger does that have not come into season. The colder temperatures triggers the change. This is why you can see yearlings with spot later into the summer months. Because of a later winter breeding.
@@Scottyjoe82 I use my hand to cup the end of the call to muffle the sound and make it more realistic! Use the ur hands to make the sound carry in different directions. (Single locator grunt) (deep breeder grunt) (3 short light grunts). These are basically the type of grunts I make.
@@Scottyjoe82 sound carries! Depends on ur surroundings and wind speed.. Start off soft and work ur way louder to not spook any deer in the area. Ultimately if there’s no deer close you want the sound to carry as far as possible. It may take up to 20 mins before you see a deer come in from 1/2 mile away..
@ no it’s not to late! Usually there is a second logger peak “2nd rut” where scapes will become more active again and can seem more like the pre-rut as the younger doe come into season.
You said you used a knight and Hale grunt if I don't have one would this be the brand you suggested I use ??

Further south you are located, more likely the breeding will persist into late NOV and December.
