The Olympic actually tried to save titanic survivors but it was too late cuz it was far (I guess)
Actually not. The carpathia wireless operator (Harold Cottam) told Olympic’s wireless to not go to the site. It sould be to frightening to get on a near identical ship to the titanic. Carpathia said no. And left her to do it. They did find 1 boat empty. But that was they only got found.
@@verstraxil..-tajikistan The Olympic did so try to dash to Titanic’s rescue, but it was about 505 miles away when it picked up its distress call so it was unable to get there in time and had made it as close as about 110 miles when it got turned down by the Carpathia.

I will explain what J_Mack 19 means so closer ships mean that they would be there faster so people could have got on to different ships by swimming to them..
You have too take in the factor that the ocean is freezing cold and many passengers and crew had died because of hypothermia of the cold ocean water.
Also the ships are way to far for and of the survivors to swim to the ships and can not make within the few minutes before dying of hypothermia.
