    Don’t be sad cause it’s over. Be happy that it happened.

      No it's pretty damn sad, man. My biggest hero as a kid, and he fell so far after coming back from so much. One of the most heartbreaking baseball stories for me personally. Up there with José.

    I love it "home run derby at Baltimore".

    This is a guy who would have easily (and I do mean easily) been in the conversation as one of the best to ever play the game. The two most effortless power swings in the history of baseball belonged to Ken Griffey, Jr. and Josh Hamilton and I'd make the argument that Hamilton's swing was actually a hair better as far as timing because almost every ball he hit was at the whip of the swing when the batspeed was at its maximum. He wasn't the biggest, he wasn't the strongest, but man could he swing a baseball bat. Just an amazing all around player.

      Dude Hamilton is a huge guy with incredible strength

    • @MeyersTJ1
      @MeyersTJ1 2 роки тому

      @@mattsmith3835 I wouldnt go as far as saying he was huge. Frank Thomas was huge. Ryan Howard was huge. Adam Dunn was huge. There's no denying he was strong but he definitely wasn't the biggest or the strongest.

      Hamilton was 6'4 240.... definitely one of the bigger guys in the game....and much faster and athletic than any other big dude

      Yeah, I agree. I read his book, they say it just sounded different coming off his bat. I need to watch some Ken Griffey Jr. highlights.

    Josh’s backstory in baseball is much more insane than most know.
    Had he stayed away from the drugs and healthy he easily would’ve been in the top 10 hitters who ever lived.
    The things he was doing in high school as a lefty were insane.
    A huge waste.

    Josh Hamilton played for the reds and angels? I think I vaguely remember the angels but the reds, no idea

      Reds were his first team after the comeback (drafted by Tampa). He had a good year, and then the next season they traded him to Texas when the team was doing their usual losing.

    • @lifelover2811
      @lifelover2811 27 днів тому

      If money is everything to a player then I guess he got the money and wasted the team's time and money and failed to be what he could have been. 130 million is a drop in the bucket to what he could have gotten. I hope the drugs and alcohol were worth it. That's the difference between him and Ken Griffey Jr, play for the love of the game not Money.
