I was in 8th grade when this song came out. So at our 8th grade promotion, my class chose this as our class song as a tribute to our parents. So this will always have a special place in my heart, along with so much of her music. Celine is amazing.
The words, lyrics are amazing, and Celine Dion, she is such a lovely woman with an incredible voice, love both. Of course thanks to David Foster (composer) and Diane Warren (lyrics) a great song.

My dad passed away from a massive heart attack at age 41 in 1999. He was the most wonderful dad a kid could have. He was fair, honest, loving, compassionate, supportive, generous, and genuinely interested in us. I lived with my "mother" until the summer I turned 11 when my dad got custody of me. She was physically and emotionally abusive to me. My dad had tried for years to get custody of me and when he finally did, I was a completely broken child because of what she put me through. He helped to restore me and bring me back to joyful living. This song says so well how I feel about him. I miss him so much.
So sorry to hear you had to go through that Terri. Glad you got some time with someone supportive. Single fatherhood of a daughter is trying (trust me) but so very very rewarding. I'm absolutely sure he treasured you in his life.
