Loved these videos.. about to take the plunge and get my first ever reef tank.. going for this exact tank, your honesty is great.. I’m now ready for a rollercoaster of a journey Keep up your great work 👍🏻
Thanks for watching. The candy cane started to go downhill before I moved the torch off of the sandbed. I think it was parameter related as I dosed loads of silicate, no water changes and let the tank try and sort itself out. Only after getting back to basics has it turned around
I think everyone's gravitated towards artificial rock thinking how lovely it will be not risking pests being brought in from live rock and the headaches of having to deal with them. However what we are all now starting to realise, is that the biological inbalance dry rock brings, causing algaes, bacterias, etc are a much bigger heachache than live rock pests ever were. Especially when we some poeple are chucking in bottled bacteria, fish and corals from day one
I agree, dry rock was appealing and now not much you can do as hardly any live rock around. The value of livestock and the biodiversity it brings is off the scale and I would take live rock with risk of pests, compared to current position I agree chucking bottled bacteria, fish and corals in from day 1 is a challenge and certainly not something I would try. Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
