I don’t want to cause debating here. I know people studied at Chicago and Yale, Chicago and Columbia at different stage, both said Chicago is more vigorous.
The quarter system is also a huge factor. As someone who just graduated from UChicago (graduate) and an unnamed horror show ivy league school (undergrad), my experience was that courses at uchicago and the other school both covered about the same amount of material at comparable levels. But uchicago covered this in a blistering 9 weeks as opposed to something like 16 weeks. My personal experience was that this was manageable but often felt impossible at the outset. Fun did go to die because of covid though.
I appreciate your videos! I have friends that (met through the Uchicago summer program) are currently at the school. I was recently admitted and honestly find it hard to find information about a day in the life at uchicago. Don’t get me wrong i’ve watched Chloe Tan and chocopuffeater but I think you also offer a solid perspective of what the university life is like.
I am an INTJ and I dropped out of computer science degree.I hate following rules and procedures and also hate useless subjects which has nothing to do with my goal.I am thinking of taking an animation degree because that's my passion. But still I hate college because I have to learn a lot of useless junk.
U of Chicago kids definitely seem to be of a "type" (at least of a stereotype). So much of the "smart kid" press is giving to the Ivies, but Harvard/Princeton/Yale kids PARTY, are really into Greek life/social clubs, sports, etc. (and honestly, once you get in, it's reportedly not very hard to just maintain a gentleman's B-minus at worst). Also plenty of super rich legacy kids who aren't all that smart. The Chicago kids are much geekier (as a whole), but -- nothing at ALL wrong with geeky!
I think she mentioned she is a humanities major. Typically, humanities have a lot more reading material than other degrees, plus I suppose the electives and requirements add to the amount of reading.
PLEASE BE SAFE HERE. KEEP YOUR HEAD ON A SWIVEL AND BE CAUTIOUS OF ANYONE WHO LOOKS LIKE THEY DONT BELONG. The harsh truth is this university is surrounded by massive GHETTOS on each side NORTH WEST AND SOUTH while the East is the lake. Its so bad they have their own massive police force and private security Army. Yet this isn't enough students are regularly robbed and sometimes killed. Students have to take University transportation of UBER/LYFT around campus at night. Also just traveling outside the area to use the el systems or public city transportation is dangerous. This is because you have to travel through the GHETTOS. This is where people are robbed and killed as well. If leaving the University campus it is recommended to AVOID PUBLIC TRANSPORTAION outside the community use UBER/LYFT OR campus transport. The University needs to spend their $10 billion dollar endowment on GENTRIFYING THE SURROUNDING AREAS. Gentrifying the surrounding areas will make it much safer than more security .

Aw I hope that you're able to take classes you find more interesting! An animation degree sounds so cool, you should totally do that!
uhh okay. so don't study any subjects that might help you think better. better maintain that narrow cognition of yours!
Im class of 2025 and this is pretty helpful!! awesome vid

greek life is banned at H/P, and much smaller at Y than at U of C
Interesting about University of Chicago: ua-cam.com/video/bXPi6MG1PW4/v-deo.html
@@liamrust9530 Greek life is banned but they still have finals clubs and plenty of parties
Solid video. Also, I honestly feel like you were a child prodigy in the past.
Thank you!
Love the title
Is reading 80 pages a night normal per day? It seems like a lot to me

This isn’t crazy. For the core classes you could easily have that much reading or more
