Bravo! Your video was pretty solid. As the lead developer, Kazovsky, I want to acknowledge that we are aware of some issues in the game, and we are currently working on fixing them. The next update will definitely please the audience, particularly those who wanted smoother nights and better controls. Your video didn't heavily criticize the game (apart from the "interesting" title you gave it), and most of the time, you spoke positively about it. We appreciate everyone who shared their thoughts on the game, and we will continue to strive for improvement in future projects. Making games is tough, and this is our first project, but we have done our best to meet the high demands of the community. We may not have succeeded completely, but we certainly didn't fail.
this might be stupid but maybe you could have something saying "hey i need you to come in a little early" or something like that to explain the random night length.
My respect for the game comes directly out of the fact it was in development for 2 YEARS without being chancelled. I made my first game in 9 months and it was an okay game but you can reallly see where that extra development time payed off in TRTBN, the amount of details and polish on a surface level is insane!
It really doesn’t matter how long you spend making a game for it to be criticized. I didn’t like the game all that much and I thought that I would put my thoughts out there to challenge the standard opinion on the game.
I feel like even though it may be a pain, criticism is to me super important, as without it, return to bloody nights wouldnt improve in some capacity. And considering how the creators working to fix the tech part of the game, because that’s really the biggest complaints, to me it shows the importance of criticism I do believe there could’ve been game testers or more of those so it wouldn’t fall under the Post shift 2 thing
I played The Return To Bloody Nights, and in my opinion, I really liked the game. The animation when Springbonnie is at the door always makes me jump. Great video btw.
Everything about this game makes it one of the most scariest. I would even say that every bad aspect about this game you showed actually adds to the horror. Randomness makes it much more confusing and less predictable, which is the best thing about this game.
I think the game has more good going for it than bad, which is actually amazing due to the short staff. I think more people should state their concerns and dislikes so this game can become even better and more fun to play. I'm glad you enjoyed the game regardless of any flaws. The people at Twisted Mind Games tried their hardest to bring something fresh to this genre while also keeping the nostalgia. Awesome analysis! The title is a bit misleading but It gets the right clicks. One more thing, I noticed in the video at 2:04 Kazovsky's message was trying to explain that there is no easier way to beat the game. The game wasn't marketed by the absence of RNG, he meant that with or without RNG the game is still beatable with pure skill, you can't cheese it to win. (unless of course there is a bug that allows you to do so) Kazovsky speaks multiple languages and English isn't his native one, so a ton of misunderstandings tend to happen haha.
im my opinion its the best fnaf fangame to currentl exist rn. i actually really liked the difficulty ramp up and just overall everything about the game is perfect
I agree; I'm surprised by this review, since my experience with the game was phenomenal. I actually really liked the night lengths being randomized, because it made it feel more mysterious. Sometimes you'll have to endure a long 5am, which is made fine (in my opinion) by the very functional mechanics and amazing sound design. I also think this is one of the best looking fangames I've played, like JR's. I think the art direction is amazing, and everything is just so charming about it. The difficulty curve also wasn't a big issue for me, although I only played it on a newer patch. I thought that ramping up the difficulty on night 3 was perfect, because the two new animatronics that are added don't do much on night 3, which I feel like the video really misled people on. Night 3 served to get the player VERY used to the first 2 animatronics, while giving them a small taste of what's to come. I think once night 4 rolls around, dealing with the first 2 animatronics should become second nature; a smart player should realize the sound cues, rng and pathing, and when the doors have to be closed. That leaves the new animatronic mechanics to be "freely" learned while keeping stakes high from using the knowledge you already have.
I love this game. I feel like it plays on the "fear of the unknown" that people have. Sure, an animatronic COULD theoretically be outside your door, but when you check, it's not. The animatronics in the door are terrifying, and I like how you can see them jump out of the corner. I noticed a few easter eggs in the prize corner as well, which made the world feel alive. The atmosphere is amazing, and the diner actually feels like somewhere made for children. My only issue is the animatronics that get introduced later on. You aren't given a specific tutorial or a hint for how to get rid of them, and I had to look online, which ruins the atmosphere a bit. I still don't know how to get rid of the old Springbonnie. (I will edit this comment if someone leaves a comment detailing Springbonnie's mechanics.) EDIT 24/05/23 : Old Springbonnie works by watching him on the cameras. When, outside the left camera, and he is close to the camera with his eyes covered, you have to react by closing the door which blocks New Springbonnie out, until you hear some thuds. Then, he will reset back to parts and service, where you have to repeat this until the night is over. (So, basically, he is a Foxy animatronic.)
The fact that this game is one of the few that actually make me jump from animatronics popping out of nowhere at your door to the terrifying jumpscares AND game over screens, hopefully these small issues are fixed and that you grow to like this game more
Return to bloody nights is the only good horror game of this genre, no other fnaf fangame or the main series itself is anywhere near as good as this game, the only fnaf game to make me jump multiple times
@@SirFiftyFiveI'm late but it's probably because these types of games aren't for you. The game is meant to bring back the og fnaf feeling which it does well and even does it better imo. The jumpscares always got me when I played the game and I was shaking throughout the entire game. Overall it's an amazing horror game I'm the type of person to respect opinions but this wasn't a great review. You didn't explain any of the gameplay mechanics/loops and let your friend talk about other stuff. 8 minutes is quite short aswell
From what others said and from this video I feel like I played a whole different game then everyone else. I had a blast playing and I never got stuck on any night except 5 and 6. I had no issues with the controls and I never noticed one night being that much longer then another night. I think that having random times for each night is a cool and realistic concept. One of the best fan games I have ever played tbh.
Great video! The difficulty spike and almost slim to none tutorial of the game are definitely frustrating but I'm gonna say something stupid and say the jank controls are very similar to fnaf1's, although frustrating, the game felt a lot like how I felt playing fnaf 1 for the first time, felt kind of like a fnaf remake with a fredbear's pizzeria coat of paint with the amazing atmosphere, jumpscares and cutscene this game has, but that's probably just me coping a bit. I still feel like the game needed just a little bit more time for it to be a perfect release.
I mean, not a lot got stuck on night 3, markiplier beat it first try. IMO I think the difficulty is pretty gud. First night introduces you to the mechanics, second takes it up a notch, third is terrifying because 1-4 AM everything seems normal but then having these new characters pop up is a great way to make horror, throwing in the unknown factor after you feel like you're safe. And they are placed at 4 AM because sometimes you don't even have to fight them. They add tension to not so overcomplicated mechanics, Night 4 you learn the new characters and Night 5/6/Custom is the ultimate test but yeah the RNG gets really annoying, especially when they decide to attack at the same time with lanky controls.
I think the best (or worst) part about Bloody nights is the ending SPOILERS So if you manage to beat the game, not only do you overhear William's reaction to losing his youngest son to the Bite of 83, but you watch a cutscene play out in which William states his death played out perfectly in achieving his goal of immortality. What for? To get his revenge against Michael for murdering his brother. We then get a teaser screen of Return to Bloody Night's 3, which is basically Fnaf 3 remastered to suit the series.
Remember when Steel Wool said they wanted to make a Fredbear game? This game kinda looks like if they made it. Obviously the gameplay is better than SB but the map design and graphics look like Help Wanted and Security Breach. Honestly I really like this game
I don't play fnaf games that much, I usually watch others play it. (Not the point though) I feel like visually and game feature wise, the return to bloody nights is a pretty solid fnaf fan game. 6-7/10
This game is my favorite FNAF fangame. I honestly didn’t notice the night length thing. I do agree about controls, but that’s literally the only gripe I would possibly have. This game has 10/10 atmosphere, aesthetics, music, sound effects, animatronic designs, voice acting, AND story! Plus the dope Frights references. Corny but so cool to hear and they always made me smile.
My only gripe with the voice acting in this game is Henry. While it's not completely bad, it's still pretty good, but it's a very "theatre kid" way to talk. There's slight pauses in pretty much every sentence he says, and the tone he has sounds like he's in the school play.
It sounds realistic for a person whose spent their time working to be a spokesperson. Most likely that Henry was the outgoing founder of Fredbear's Family Diner, and that's why.
I actually enjoyed this game because I just got my pc and was finally able to play the fnaf games. It might have just been the excitement of getting to play these games I loved after 7 years of waiting but all in all a good concept
btw fredbear 2.0's lines aren't original VA, they are sampled from the HECU grunts from half-life, however the way they mix the lines to become fredbear's voice is actually really well executed
I loved the difficulty spike on night 3, made it feel like the stakes were REALLY growing rather than slowly ramping up. Night 2 already served as a ramp up difficulty, so I think it worked great.

Return to bloody nights seemed like a really good game though! I haven't played it though (mainly cus I'm a lil bitch) but I watched videos on it and it seemed fun as hell not to mention scary.
I just want to hear all of Fredbear 2.0's voicelines but there's no videos anywhere of them. I swear he says some pretty straightforward things the ghost of a murdered child would say. Like, "Creeps! Creeps!" "You! Get over/out of here!" and "Get out!"
Fredbear 2.0s voicelines come from the 1998 game named "Half-Life". Specifically, his voicelines come from an enemy named the HECU, the soldiers that were sent to cover up the mess that occurred in the facility. Hope this helped!
@@First-Drop-Studios Intel Core i7-12700H Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 512 GB SSD It's just for some reason softlocking at 30fps, I cant find the reason why either
I'm really late, but I just wanted to make a correction: Fredbear 2.0 doesn't have a voice actor, what he says are mixed lines the HECU grunts from Half Life 1 say. Great video nonetheless! :D
Ok honestly i think night 3 is it gets difficult because the robots are possessed considering the first two it was quiet and not much was going on so and considering the screen glitching literally tells you that crap is about to go down. Not to mention the screen glitches says they are angry and hence forth why it gets difficult ☝️ in my opinion
While I've never played a fnaf game, and never played a fan game, I do enjoy videos discussing games. The Phantron section stood out to me as weird as while he gushes over many aspects of the game from the easter eggs, the sound design, the look of the setting, and some special attention to detail he straight up doesn't have a single good thing to say about anything related to actual gameplay. Even the bad parts of the game are super vague "there are some problems". It's odd to see someone unrelated to the game seemingly running damage control. I would certainly understand not wanting to be aggressive in his criticisms of the game as they both make fan games, but that shouldn't bar him from pointing out its issues. A Dev in a very similar field should be in a particularly good spot to comment on problems the game had, and provide feedback for improvements or how to better implement gameplay ideas. Talking about literally everything aside from gameplay (the problem people had with the game) in his section is a missed opportunity imo. Hopefully it's just because he wants to be an extra super nice guy for some reason. yea, I know this is a year+ old at the time of writing :)
TRTBN is my 2nd fnaf fan game I've ever played (the first is Jr's)and the only fnaf game I played is fnaf 3. When I first played it I was so scared just by springbonnie popping up and since it was my 2nd fnaf fan game I spent around 3 tries I think on night 2 but I barely spent any time on night 3 4 and 5 only around 2 tries each but when it came to night 6 (not custom night) it was torture I spent 3 hours and had 28 total attempts beating it. I felt like Night 6 had a bit too much rng since you can have all of them attack you one by one overheating your generator.
Listening to the conversation Gene Henry & Williams honestly all I can just picture is the real reason why Williams wife is divorcing him because she's convinced that he's in love with Henry
honistly as soon as i saw the trailer for the reaturn to bloody night i knew i had to make a video of it and led into ym series i still only use the first version cause of its hardness and my love for the spring anmitronics
I like to go into games with a no real expectations, other than what the "buy our games" screenshots says it should be. Tbh looking at this game, it has huge potential. The return to bloody nights is filled with risks, some hit, some miss. I always enjoy an attempt at experimental game play. It's why I think fnaw 2 is underrated. I can see why people don't like it, but I encourage people to play it without that perception over their eyes, and give constructive criticism.
I remember when kazovsky kept replying to oblitus casa posts telling radiance to hurry up and finish the game. I'm pretty sure the replies were deleted but it could be me being an average moron like I usually am.
0:29 look gary there i am alright that aside i don't hate the game entirely; i do plan to give it another shot soon since it was mostly my initial impressions of it. i decided to start logging the night lengths for myself too (which i do plan to continue with the rest of the game when i get back around to it). even if i seem critical of it i do want to like the game for what it is, the choices in design just make me question why they were made and hold it back some for me though.
I guess I somehow just didn't get the spring animatronics on night 3 when I played and wasn't entirely sure if the lighting was animtronics joining so I had no clue they were there yet. Breezed through first try. Currently stuck on Night 4 though lol
I feel like the random nights and difficulty is because if you were in a job like that, you would never really know what will happened. But I feel like 3 night is a bit too early for like 4 animatronics

@@cerberuslikesballin I know it sounds like the HECU marines, but those voice lines just can't be from them.
@@walnzell9328 Eh, who knows to be honest.
I finished night 3 and I just died 2 time,now I am in night 5💀
hehe, funny pizza man music in background
I've been OBSESSED with Pizza Tower recently, you have no idea lol
@@SirFiftyFive You and me both, man, you and me both.
I think the reason why people hate it because it makes you shut down and become very sloppy
It's an amazing game from what I've seen in gameplay, just needs a few tweaks in the controls like you have mentioned
Pizza tower background music...respect..
Am I the only one who cant get this game to play at more than 30fps?
It's really annoying
What’s your PC specs? I’m running it at like 180 fps
@@First-Drop-Studios
Intel Core i7-12700H
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060
512 GB SSD
It's just for some reason softlocking at 30fps, I cant find the reason why either
Not to mention the screen glitches says they are angry and hence forth why it gets difficult ☝️ in my opinion
i dont think it was bad, its just kind of bad with some other stuff, not the gameplay, apart from the night lengths
But... i like the game
The ambience is so unsettling...
I loved the game
That’s good! I liked some aspects of it :]
My friends got his dms leaked because he said the game was bad lol
rip 💀
You’re fucking joking, please tell me you are.
@@brawler5760 i wish i was lol
I'm gonna be honest, I really like this game, that's all I have to say.
Listening to the conversation Gene Henry & Williams honestly all I can just picture is the real reason why Williams wife is divorcing him because she's convinced that he's in love with Henry
idk what everyone is complaining about the game was pretty easy for me. even the 4/20 mode
Guy who doesn't play FNAF here, it doesn't matter how buttiful the environment is with its small details if no one can survive Wednesday night.
I actually don't like the acting for Henry & William. I just find their voices too similar and overall degrading to hear before every night
honistly as soon as i saw the trailer for the reaturn to bloody night i knew i had to make a video of it and led into ym series i still only use the first version cause of its hardness and my love for the spring anmitronics
I thought people liked Return to Bloody nights before watching this video
My one issue with the game is just how out of place the phone guy straight up just being Cave Johnson is
Wait until Phantom plays Half Life and learns of the HECU grunts.
Summed up my thoughts perfectly
i say that the payday was the real difficulty then the gamemodes like the 20/20
This game came out in my 3RD ANNIVERSARY?!?! (Btw way too many things happened in march 25th - 26th)
Too true
@@SirFiftyFive yes apparently like there is something telling me that I am the best Idk
me matey added the pizza tower music and thought we would not notice
I managed to beat Wednesday first try then gave up on thursday
why did you using pizza tower music in your videos?!
i like the game im playing ti rn and i beat the first night
I thoroughly enjoyed the game.
Fredbear 2.0’s voice is from Half Life 1
I love this fan game tbh
to me this game is real fire
Ice lemonade.
I bet this game is scarier than the mimic
Maybe I’ll give this game a try for myself if I have the time and follow for more updates in the future
Why did you put the fax bear dancing
oh
yeah
I remember when kazovsky kept replying to oblitus casa posts telling radiance to hurry up and finish the game. I'm pretty sure the replies were deleted but it could be me being an average moron like I usually am.
0:29 look gary there i am
alright that aside i don't hate the game entirely; i do plan to give it another shot soon since it was mostly my initial impressions of it. i decided to start logging the night lengths for myself too (which i do plan to continue with the rest of the game when i get back around to it). even if i seem critical of it i do want to like the game for what it is, the choices in design just make me question why they were made and hold it back some for me though.
I guess I somehow just didn't get the spring animatronics on night 3 when I played and wasn't entirely sure if the lighting was animtronics joining so I had no clue they were there yet. Breezed through first try. Currently stuck on Night 4 though lol
Is like mobile lol with the controllers
I feel like the random nights and difficulty is because if you were in a job like that, you would never really know what will happened. But I feel like 3 night is a bit too early for like 4 animatronics
I remember more people liking this.
Hey i was released on my birthday
another issue in the game is the phone guy like i love to figure out things myself but come on he isnt helping at all
