  • 📣 Video interview with Agrippina Mwangi, InnoCyPES doctoral candidate, on her research in the integration of Internet-of-Things (IoT) technologies, particularly in challenging environments such as offshore wind farms.
    Her research includes:
💡 Extensive simulations to develop a proof of concept for real-time IoT communication. This process involves collaboration with both vendors and consumers to effectively develop models, integrating equipment and communication tools provided by vendors.
💡 Align with evolving industry trends, focusing on software-defined networking, to develop resilience and performance models that assist engineers in creating more robust and efficient systems. This includes aligning business objectives and managing operational disruptions intelligently.
💡 Collaborate with industry, policymaking, and energy systems experts, emphasising the shift towards software-defined networking, essential for a thorough understanding of communication network data. The InnoCyPES ecosystem provides a range of resources and expertise, contributing to the research.
Agrippina is enrolled at Utrecht University, where she is supervised by Prof. Madeleine Gibescu. Her secondments will be at Ørsted and EDF, where she will be supervised by Dr. Karsten Hvalkof Andersen and Dr. Thierry Coste respectively.
InnoCyPES has received funding from the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme. Part of Horizon Europe, the MSCA is the European Union's flagship funding programme for doctoral education and postdoctoral training of researchers. The project started in January 2021 and will be completed in December 2024. It is led by Associate Professor Guangya Yang from DTU Wind and Energy Systems.
