It's different, but not bad. It still feels like snowboarding, but on a different board than you're used to. Most boards have 6 connection points so you don't see a lot of slop between the two edges. On ice and groomers you'll notice more flex during turns, but on powder you will be happy.
I just picked up an amplid tour operator, but it has the amplid clips in the middle, did you switch out to spark fixie clips or something else that helps pull the halves together more?
It is a well known mountain named Hirschberg near lake Tegernsee. I live here and use this tour as a "I need good vibes for the upcoming day and go on tour before work!" :) I think its 900 vertical meters and one steeper slope (more than 30 degrees). so relatively safe tour.
This is a silly question but what is the reason for switching the two board parts while going up? I mean why am I making the tips pointing away from each other rather than keeping them together? Is there some other purpose or just to prevent hitting those two clips that are on the inner side to hold boards together once I wanna use it for riding?
Yeah. On this particular tour I was alone. it is my home mountain where I know all the time the conditions. but for sure it is always better to go with a buddy or group.
I had a chance to interview Venture Snowboards on the Colorado.FM podcast. Amazing local Colorado company making some of the best splitboards out there. You can listen here: www.colorado.fm/venture-snowboards/
Amazing positive wow. I like snowboarding was always nahh for skiing but this in the middle might be something new. Thanks.
Impressive scenery! Dream splitboard setup also, Amplid Milligram and Plum Feyan!

I or we are! Check out our website! Thanks for the feedback!
Great vid ! Question, is the performance of a split board compromised compared to a normal board ? Stiffness etc.

Love the color profile!

I think it's so you will always have an edge on the inside of your downhill leg when you hit steeper sections
nice guy , nice spot
Do i need extra splitboard shoes or can i use my snowboard shoes?
Thanks for the video!
I see you using Union Poles. How do you like them?
I Font know them and use the poles from leki.
What are those snowpants?
Yes, I would like to know this too ;)
It was good! But where is your body?! Are you ride and travel alobe?
Yeah. On this particular tour I was alone. it is my home mountain where I know all the time the conditions. but for sure it is always better to go with a buddy or group.
Good video but you didn't really touch on avy safety or general backcountry etiquette
Yeah, the highlight of my life! Aside from knowing Yehovah & Yeshua the Messiah, of course. Great edit & break-down. And nice powder!

4 hour Splitboard hike for 5 mins of fun or 5 min Snowmobile ride switching off with your bro for 60X the runs...
i see your point, but here in Austria you can´t use a skidoo. the hunters will go crazy for u, most of the forrest is privat.
Part of the fun of it is the connection with nature. You lose that on a snowmobile. But to each their own
60 runs, such BS.
@@adkrider33 yeah maybe a bunny hill 🤣
Splitboards made of two segments are shit.
Not applicable for real alpine tours!
Lol
