Take the sliding door off the tracks, you’ll have a 5 foot plus wide opening. Take a section of the fence out, move tank - restore. It’ll take some time but worth the effort. No problem.
Your worries are real. I'm in the middle of starting a new build. My tank is a little bigger and has to go in my basement. I did lose stuff even though I was super prepared but my tank was up for 10 years. What I can tell you is have a ton of fresh water on hand and make 3 times as much saltwater than you think you will need to make the move. Seriously.
I despise moving tanks. I've sold big tanks just to avoid the move. Wire new gfci outlets before the move. It will help cleanup the wire mess. I would take the sliding door out. Good luck
Honestly don't blame you 😪 Had I known I would be moving, would've definitely waited to start this monster up after the move.. And will have to call an electrician womp. Wish I was handy !!
I am a new fish owner ( I got me goldfish from a fair in December lol on accident), but my goldfish had ick and I thought I was really going to lose him since I had no experience. Especially after googling how to take care of it. I just thought there was no way in hell I'm going to make him better. Went to PetSmart, asked the lady for medicine and how to help him out with a heater... fast forward to now and he's doing better than ever :) I know your circumstances are very different, but have faith in yourself! I hope you get settled in quickly and everything goes well from here, good luck!
I don’t envy you. Moving my 210 sucked. And that was from the garage to the living room. Lol. 450 lbs dry had my back hurting. Plenty of suction cups. Hydraulic lift table, blah blah. No fun at all. I’m dreading the day I have to move it again. Hope everything works out for you🙂
You can hire labor from Uhaul by the hour. Have an electrician add another outlet and GFCI. Don't cover the outlet with the tank. I serve as am example of what not to do. :)
Good Luck with the move! I've done it with smaller tanks (50g) and its' definitely a time intensive operation. I cant' imaging a 220g! But nowadays folks have solid rockwork so you can use bins to put them in a bin with water. I had to dismantle my rock structure and then re-build it with all the corals! EDIT: I ran a 1/2" water line from my RO/DI system in the garage to where my tank will be in the entry-way.
It really is one heck of a mission! So great that I can have the LFS help out, would not manage without it. And wow that sounds intense!! Wish I could dismantle mine ahh
Best of luck! It's gonna look great in that spot!..if you decide to bring it through the front bring it in a pick up truck as close to the door as you can with enough room for you guys to get it off and on to dollies..best of luck!👍🏼💯
Hey, good luck and I will be in the same boat in 2-3 months. Moving a 75 FOWLR but I finally get to setup my 375 that has been storage. The doors in the back door can be easily removed to give you a huge space.
Sorry I am late. Reefing Report was live. I would leave the moving worries to the LFS. Also, I am excited to see the new "more better" tank in its new "more better" show tank location. This tank move is going to be perfect and go smoothly. Just push the doubt out.
I was so stressed when I moved my tank and are not alone. I freaked out when my 180.5 was moved to my basement. I hired professional movers and they used the tools and equipment they use when moving a piano! I could hardly watch I managed to get in the way when I tried to help. Moving fish and corals will be crazy but the LFS will be helpful I’m sure. Just wait till it’s all done. It will look great in that space.
honesty that's the way to do it!! It's just way too much to handle with just a few friends, the equipment makes all of the difference. And I'm so happy - fits the space so well!
Oh no, I did find your aquascape and coral placements awesome. I'm sure it will be find when you rebuild, hey...it might be a chance to do some changes you always wanted to on this tank. Everything is an opportunity!
Consider seasonal sunshine in that window....buy a large 100 gal rubbermaid for transfer of rock scape keep a heater ...and powerhead running it while driving....cover it with saran wrap...the scape itself....break it up/or if it breaks use reef epoxy plus reef glue
??get an electrician to wire in a dedicated line(s) and fuse / circuit, back with water protected outlets, where you want everything. Two banks of quads, running on 1 or 2 circuits, dedicated and protected.
It does sound insane, but I bet all will be well. The fish probably had a much more stressful journey from the ocean to your house than this move and if you’re keeping the rock and other biomedia I don’t see any reason the tank would re-cycle!
@queen of reef You and other reefer content creators motivated me to create my own reefing content, I was waiting for my video to download and I saw you uploaded! I'm glad you successfully moved safely, and I hope your hippo tang and other fish don't get ick after you move them in :( I'm rooting for you! (after watching "guess what?") OH WAIT, WHAT BROKE?! I hope you're okay...

Just tear the whole house down and rebuild 🤣
The sliding doors pop off easy af

Good luck you should definitely change that outlet to a gfi before the tank goes in
Yes for sure! Thank you 🙏

Best of luck dude! Wishing the best for you and your tank. I recently moved my tank and fuhhhk was it a mission.
thank you 🙏 ahhh it's a nightmare
Congratulations on the new place. Everything will work out for you
Thank you 🙏

It's such an undertaking it's no joke!! So happy for my LFS...there's just no way I could handle

Oou good luck you got this!! The new tank will be awesome, can't imagine how big
I keep my mixing station behind where your windows are. Makes it so easy!
But the asthetics 😭😭

Sooo happy to have that help! Hahaha yes it will be much more better 🤣 And thank you, needed to remind myself that
Least you got the LFS moving it. Most likely they are insured, so if they mess it up. It's their dime to get you a new one..
!!! Let's not go there 😅😂

Thanks 😃
An electrician can drop in extra outlets for cheap

That's a good way of thinking about it!! Taking the chance to start fresh, new tank new me 😂
Consider seasonal sunshine in that window....buy a large 100 gal rubbermaid for transfer of rock scape keep a heater ...and powerhead running it while driving....cover it with saran wrap...the scape itself....break it up/or if it breaks use reef epoxy plus reef glue
Definitely the only way it can fit! Luckily it's literally a 5min drive so it's not that bad. Good advice, thank you 🙏
O wow prayers. I know how that is.
Not going to be fun haha
@@QueenofReef yeah no fun. But I’m sure it will be fine. A lot of stress. And distressing.
It is going to be stressful but with the help of your lfs you got this...let us know how it goes.
Next video !! 😬
you look gorgeous in this video!!!
Was so self conscious to be on camera again so this means a lot😭❤️
I thought it was moving to my house lol! That tank is so beautiful. Hope u get it all sorted out. Moving is scary
Ahhh it really is 😩
Make sure you clean your sand well with your python, putting back that much water might spike an ammonia peak.
Best of luck!!!!
Definitely, it's going to get so yucky 🤢
What you could do is get a large tot carefully put your scape in it and and rest self explanatory
there was an attempt 😅
??get an electrician to wire in a dedicated line(s) and fuse / circuit, back with water protected outlets, where you want everything. Two banks of quads, running on 1 or 2 circuits, dedicated and protected.
No doubt! I need to get that sorted asap

I really hope so!! Fingers crossed
Good luck I hope everything work out 👍🏾
Thank you me too 🙏

Omg that's awesome! Will stay on the look out for when your vid is posted 😬 And yes....lots to update on lol
@@QueenofReef my video is gonna be posted at 2pm ET today!😊
If you don’t have ich in the tank, your tang won’t get ich :).
i'm still worried 😅
Its easier to just buy another aquarium maybe a 300 gallon ;)
Don't tempt me... 😂
The room is basically empty and you haven’t moved in, and you’re wondering how to make power work? Ummm….
😂😂 I'm overwhelmed
