    someone shared this fun fact with me the other day: many of the doorposts in and around the palaces are purposefully lowered, so when stepping through you’re ‘forced’ to bend through the waist, which basically makes you respectfully bow 🙇🏼‍♀️

      Joost definitely has to bow down. Me on the other hand.. 😂 i'm not tall enough for it lol (unfortunately)

      Doorposts’ low heights are mostly about people’s heights at that era, but also pretty related to hindering horses and chivalries coming in.
