  • Hi Everyone:
Here's another Salmon fishing video out of Hammond, Oregon.
Please offer suggestions on how I can make the videos better. This is still a learning experience. I noticed that we are not doing a good job showing the fish after the catch, you will see that fixed in the next video. Thanks for watching. Tight Lines!
    Gear Used:
    Lure #1 Size 3" amzn.to/4bXSiyd
    Lure #2 Size 3" amzn.to/3YdY6kg
    Flasher amzn.to/4ddEYHn
    Hooks Size 2/0 - amzn.to/46d886V
The 2 pack of lures do not come rigged with hooks and line. I actually prefer this because the stock hooks and line don't hold up very well. I use 30lb mono and the hooks below.
I like to stuff the lures with blended up anchovies but many people use canned tuna or other concoctions. (I bought a used blender at Goodwill. Figured my wife would have words if I used hers)

Too many rules for west coast anglers. Fish and game out of control . Why are you releasing natives and what exactly are they?

There has definitely been a greater enforcement presence this year in the Northwest. We were boarded this weekend (Video coming). It's all good, we try to do everything by the book. This time of year we fish for "Hatchery" fish. Fish that were raised in hatcheries up river and released to grow in the ocean. They are identified by a clipped adipose fin on the back. If it's not clipped we assume it's a wild or "Native" fish and throw it back. This time of year on the ocean, you can only keep hatchery Coho. Thanks for watching. Tight Lines!
