Smoking was also common back then onset. It isn't that common now, nor is drinking. Erin Murphy has said that her parents didn't like it.
This is a favorite of mine. Darrin never learned respect for most of Sam's family. That also can be said of her family. The exceptions might be Uncle Arthur and surely Aunt Clara.
