@@FedericoEndrek Yes, many users in the community forum have the same frustration about Anytype's names being confusing. Have you used Notion or other similar apps?
The way you walk through the steps, give comparisons to other examples (desktop folder layout) and just explain things in an easy to understand way has helped me dive deeper into Anytype. I was having trouble with finding a good source for how I like to absorb info but I think I have found it! I feel I can daily drive this app finally. Much appreciated!
Especially helpful for new users of Anytype! Anytype's terminology can be very confusing at first, because Anytype uses technically correct terms that are unfamiliar to us. The usual digital office routine still works in hierarchical folder-document structures, where we are led to believe that an element can only ever exist in a certain place, just like in the real office. Notion, Coda, ClickUp and other comparable apps have such a familiar page tree structure ready for their new users, where you can find your way around relatively quickly and then later explore the true, database-driven potential of the app. Anytype, on the other hand, is currently still extremely puristic and confronts new users with the reality of pure object-orientation right from the beginning. A tool like the one you have provided here is therefore extremely welcome! I think that if Anytype wants to be widely successful as a note-taking app in the future, it will have to offer a similar pre-installed structure model to get started.
I use obsidian and I tried Anytype. Anytype saves your files wherever and you can’t retrieve them fast if you need them if at all. It’s totally clunky and forget document management, simply forget it if you use this app
Obsidian and Anytype are not equivalent apps, they both have their pros and cons. I like Anytype's UX over Obsidian. Some things are clunky while in the beta stage.
@@FocusedCuriosity true. Ontop of the documents I do not understand the definitions of objects collections and whatever there is and worse how it interacts and what to do with it. It’s bad man. Badly explained, and worse in intuitivity than even obsidian
@@DoomLegion83 I learned to use Obsidian from @nicolevdh & @FromSergio, so I'm just trying share what I learned so far with Anytype. I was annoyed too when I first tried the app.

The comparison with our PCs was very helpful to understand the concept of Anytype better. Thank you

@@gmmxn I was in the same place, seriously annoyed when I first found Anytype, but I'm sticking with it for the offline feature and simple UX.
@@FocusedCuriosityIt is fantastic, I am already migrating all my others "note takings" apps to AnyType.

Glad the folder comparison to a desktop organization was helpful. Yes the onboarding to for new users of Anytype could be simpler.
Thank you for guiding a newbie through the convoluted objects in anytype. Appreciate your effort for this video! :)

Very helpful video. I like that you mention the version of the app you’re working with. Keep up the good work.
Ingenious! Anyone complaining about not having folders in AnyType should watch this. Thanks!
Yes, the simple organization is there, but kind of hidden.
Loving these tutorials! 🙌
I'm not afraid to say I ❤ folders! 🤣
3:55 You forgot the "Use as a Template" in this video. It took me extra minutes to figure it out when I was stuck at the "Default for this view"😢
Ah sorry, glad you found the setting eventuallly!
