As a newbie to this whole world I think it would be interesting to understand more about how to pick yarn for certain projects over others. Not sure if that makes sense haha. Anywayyy great video once again!!
@@woozybyceline I think it’s a great idea, especially if you don’t use it much as it is. I’m trying to get better at altering things I’m not happy with myself, and each time it feels like a whole new item. I haven’t dyed anything yet, but even just adding length to a too short jumper makes it feel new.
Im actually going to make the fearn sweater for my daughters 27th birthday in the yarn called for in the pattern. I can't wait for the yarn to get here so i can start. I think i will make one for me when I'm done with hers! Hers will be white, but i think i will go for dark ocher for mine. ❤ I have made a sweater for me in Drops Air i want to do sweater surgery to change the collar and add legth to the sleeves as well. I do believe that learning about correct yarn substitute to match a pattern is definitely something that comes with experience. ❤
She's going to love the Fern! And so are you :) The Knitting For Olive yarn is going to be perfect for it! Absolutely agreed on yarn choice, it's a whole art in itself 💕
I love drops yarn but often knit in smaller needles. I also wondered if you continue to hang your garments as I dont. I dry them flat on a plastic bag , store them folded and drops air or anything else with alpaca doesn't see a washing machine. Never had any issues. Drops baby merino i like to pare with cotton/silk sometimes. Also never had any issues. Whereas sandnes sunday peels too quickly for me and i find overpriced. Drops yarn sometimes is not plyed(plied?) as good as higher quality yarn and has too many knots but other than that I find it great.
@woozybyceline what expensive yarn did you see a difference with? My sister often uses cool wool from lana grossa which I like but find too expensive for what you get from it, same with sandnes. But never tried gepard yarn, etc or other yarn that price range. Have you?
Hi, The Aosta sweater is on my list to knit this year. But since you mentioned that drops air is not holding up the shape very well I would like to hold another yarn with it. Could you please suggest which yarn I can hold along side so that the sweater can hold its shape better? Preferably drops yarns as they fit well into my budget. Thanks in advance.
Hey! You could hold the Air with the Kid Silk Mohair. Alternatively, you could use Alaska or Nepal instead of Air, the higher wool content makes them sturdier yarns. Hope this helps!

I think this would be a really helpful video, will start working in on it!!
I really like the idea of dying over a jumper to give it some new life. I think the light jumper would be gorgeous dyed with avocado pits!
I’ve yet to try it! Thanks for commenting, great reminder 😍

I just finished the Brioche Station Scarf by Kutovakika, it made me fall in love with two color brioche. So satisfying, not bulky, and easy to style
Maybe I should get back into this stitch with a simple garment like this, you've really sold it to me!
The unicorn michelin is gorgeous.
It is very majestic 😍

I store my knits rolled in a drawer, I just hang them for videos! Generally I like Drops, I think what you get for the price is great!

I have a scarf that I knit to perfect my tension. And boy is it ugly 😂 But I will always love it because it reminds me where I started
Ahah!! Those sort of pieces always have a lot of charm 🤗
