I'm last year of highschool and the girls I see in my school already have fillers and sometimes even nose jobs. I went on tiktok and saw a video of my classmate using one of those lip filler pens. Having a substance pushed into your skin by compressed air into your skin sounds HORRIBLE
I just got my lips done last week and I asked my injector if she had ever done the "Russian Lips" or "Key Hole" style I've seen going around. She said "Yes, but it only looks good for about a week before your natural anatomy wins." @@ghoultooth Supply and demand I guess. At the spa I go to it still costs the same for all of their cosmetic injectibles no matter how they get it in there so it's not like she's making additional profit off of the fads people may ask for which is why I trust her. She's always conservative and always reminds me that if I'm not comfortable going too large then they can keep any leftover for a certain amount of time so you can go home, see if you like it after the swelling goes down and go back to have her tweak it if needed without having to pay for an entirely new syringe. I'm sure there are other providers who charge double for the same amount of product just because "this one has a cute little name so we can capitalize on it since it's suddenly trending on TikTok" but they probably aren't as forthcoming about results and what to expect. I'm biracial amd unfortunately I got my mother's pencil thin upper lip and my dad's bottom lip. I got juvederm on just my upper lip and still don't regret it. I just asked for even top lip and having the injection it helped with not having a gummy smile.
I have small lips, they don’t bother me. I feel for women who follow these trend to feel better. It’s one thing if you just want to do it, it another if you’re doing it bc you feel bad about who you are.
I used to have such thin lips that you really couldn't see them. But when I puberty hit, they grew so much that they're like 5 times as large as they used to be and I'm still insecure about they're size
I think the problem is that people go to the extreme. I got fillers on my lips recently because my top lip disappeared when I smiled. Now it's finally noticeable, not inflated like a balloon, and it's done wonders to my self-esteem. The fact that it can last longer than a year also makes my wallet happy lol
I agree. I had such a small amount done (and tiny lips as it is) that nobody can tell. My lips were already lacking the amount of hyaluronic acid that most people have. The HA filler definitely doesn't last 8 years in my body though, unfortunately.
Filler isn’t inherently bad it’s just being done badly right now. The name of the game is undetectable and shouldn’t really be done in your 20-30s cause it’s supposed to be used to fill the parts of your face the natural fat depleted.
What I hate about these “trends” is that they make a mockery out of what are the natural features of some women. For a while in elementary school I was bullied for having big lips. Women in my family would tell me the kids didn’t know any better and that other women pay to have lips like mine and men would (inappropriately) compliment that feature specifically. Still through my teens and early 20s I played down my lips - no color, just chapstick. I’m very grown now, very comfortable, love all my features regardless of what’s fashionable. But it bothers me to hear people refer to women with full lips as “looking like a fish” or saying that their face is ruined. I get the point of the video and the explicit denunciation of the filler trend. But still, those women look like me. The last photo of Kylie is pretty close to my natural lips - just bit bigger because of the over lining. And the thing is, she can stop filling and go back to an acceptable mouth to have an unruined face. Those of us who are natural cannot. So I think talking about the dangers of the filler is necessary. But it’s not necessary to make fun of the feature.
100% agree. I have wide hips and a big “bottom” and was made fun of by peers AND family as a literal child. Now I get compliments… Can we stop making body parts trendy and stick to clothes and makeup as trends? We can at least take those off at the end of the day.
Exactly, you literally put my thoughts to words, these critics seem to forget that some people have these features naturally. Same with the bbl critics
@feline_star the bbl trend is terrible and dangerous, but there is a way that we can talk about and discourage them without criticizing women’s bodies. There are plenty of women with disproportionately large behinds that should not be lumped into the category of “looking like an ant” just because other women tried to get what they have and failed.
I considered getting filler after having to look at my face all day on Zoom during the pandemic - I'm so glad that all of the horror stories I heard put me off!
I got filler once and 14 months later, my lips are still plumper than their original size and shape. I don't regret it because getting filler relieved my medical issues and boosted my confidence. I feel my decision was made well because I weighed the pros and cons as an adult. I didn't just follow the trend, I researched and deliberated for years. I tried non-invasive alternatives and medical interventions. When I did decide to do it, I was looking for any sign that it's gone wrong and I was ready to call emergency services. Make INFORMED decisions and be READY for the worst case scenario.
I never liked the idea of lip fillers and I don’t understand why people think it makes them “pretty.” It just makes them look like they’re trying to permanently recreate a black stereotype with the thick lips. I don’t know why people bullied Kylie for her thin lips because she looked fine with them and there’s nothing wrong with having thin lips, and I’m saying this as someone who doesn’t have them. I grew up in a neighborhood where people have different types of lips and I never saw an issue with them. They’re just them. Hyaluronic acid should be on the face, not IN it. Imagine how much more beautiful Kylie would have been had she left her lips alone. She could have been an example of showing that having thin lips are okay and can be just as beautiful as thick ones, but she gave in.
I have a friend who came to my party with lip fillers and I couldn't look at her. I felt so sorry for her because I knew she did it out of insecurity. Thankfully she came to her senses and never used them again.
Thank u for your video. Ppl definitely need to be talking about this. I got lip fillers about 3 weeks ago. They were swollen and looked ducky 🦆 they look normal now and I really like them. I am very lucky with the place I ended up going to. I originally thought I would need 2 syringes cuz everything online said that 1 syringe isn’t much and that most ppl need 2 🤦🏻♀️ no. 1 made the world of a difference. I just wanted my lips to more so be a 1:1 ratio and my cupids bow to sit higher as I always feel the need to line my lips slightly higher in that area. Now I don’t need to wear liner, just lip chap honestly and I feel good about myself which is what I wanted. Anyways I was so worried about vascular occlusion. My lip even started to lose colour in it so the nurse kept an eye on it later on by video calling me and it ended up being nothing, just due to swelling their was some discolouration so luckily I was fine. Honestly, if ppl are gonna get lip fillers then run far from any injector that would give u 2 syringes. The place I went to does not do 2 ever. They said it’s too much for the lips so they don’t offer it and they were right. 2 is tooo much. My lips look very natural and well done and by no means too small so 1 syringe is truly the most u should put in your lips. Anyways, I do worry about that 20% that can be left every time I get them dissolved n refilled. Be easy with yourself everyone and love yourself. U are perfect and do not need “the lip filler look” if u want to do it then less is more and just know that u are beautiful and none of us should feel the need to do these things. It’s sad that we do. The sad part is we love everyone else the way they are but are so hard on ourselves
I've seen very subtle and natural filler done in people and they came out more confident and liked their lips which looked natural. But this? multiple injections, addictions to filler, surgeons/injectors with no ethics, etc. is the core of this problem. Nothing wrong with wanting some enhancements, we're all human after all and wanting to adhere to societal expectations is a very human trait, but when it's taken too far, we need to take a step back and reevaluate.
Can you do a video on lip fat transfer & lip dermal tissue graft. They say it is "natural" but some say it creates uneven lips, necrosis, or if you gain weight your lips gain & you can't dissolve them.
if you look at filler advertisement brochures, the ones inside proper medspas, you will see extremely subtle enhancements and corrections of asymmetries. I don't think they were ever meant to be used in the quantities they're being used in
I did my own lip filler back in 2010 before the lip trend and though everything turned out fine and they are permanent and I still have my full beautiful lips. I do regret doing it and I would never do it again because I now know how dangerous it was and stupid.
It is a super long story but I will sum up with the Botox the plastic surgeon does works best for me since he gets to personalize the areas I need(started with him due to the pandemic but did do it at the neurologist once they were allowed to start with procedures again). I despise the way it makes my forehead look weirdly waxy but I don’t want more damage to my brain from the migraines that is visible on a MRI from before going to the neurologist. I feel really sorry for all the people that used the fillers because the advertising of filler was just wrong and for me the biggest thing is they are now concerned it can be linked to a increased lymphoma risk. My husband is now two years into remission from lymphoma and I hate the idea that people went in with the idea filler was super safe, can be dissolved, and breaks down naturally just to potentially have a increased cancer risk now. I don’t want to fear monger or have medical professionals constantly fear monger but dang it they should be required to tell everyone this is what we currently know about this medication/medical product but we don’t know what we don’t know so understand their may be unknown risks for this. The lymphoma risk with filler isn’t confirmed at all but we don’t know what will happen with it super long term so this should be constantly stated to anyone that is going in for it.
I’m so glad I watched this video my lips are medium size I wanted filler for my lips because my top lip disappears when I smile but I had no clue it was that bad will not be getting any lip filler now thank you !!!!

I look at these girls and think they were literally born beautiful. How do they not see it. I think we need to start being grateful for what we have. Beauty is in the variety. When I was in school 30 years ago people were normal beautiful. Their unique features made them pretty. I have tiny small small pouty lips. But men seemed to still think they were attractive. I remember wanting acne because I was in school with one of the most stunning girls I have ever seen who had cheek acne. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder and haters will always think your ugly but ppl who see beauty in everything will always think you are beautiful. These women are literally still growing and already doing these things to their bodies and that’s what blows my mind.
The girl that had a “ reaction “ to her filler now has full juicy lips that could almost pass for natural AND she’s taking about going back!!!! Wtf i who also had fillers of crazy 1ml (i now wish they did .5 ml or less) still have completely full upper and lower lip. Thankfully my reaction where they swelled up 5x it’s size only lasted 5-14 days and swelling did eventually disappear i didn’t go get out dissolved. I tried going back “ because like most people I figured after 4 yrs I’m supposed to get the “touch up” and I’m so glad i had a good nurse that refused to put anything more in my lips saying they were still completely full and most of the filler was still there. Id just be putting more on top of existing and this is where migration of filler happens as well severe scar tissue that will never go away or dissolve . I will never go back to my original lip shape because now 7 yr later and still lips i know it doesn’t always dissolve even with dissolving agent as it’s impossible to go in between each pocket as well fat pocket layers where it hides and migrates over time. Also the scar tissue that forms during injection process as well after the swelling is there forever as so scar tissue and it gives some permanent shape to lips. I’m thankful i never f did more than 1 ml in 7.5 yrs and i line how naturally looking and full they still are i don’t care to dissolve but i will never do my lips again now knowing what i know that you can’t just to put s as temporary option and assume you can go back to your natural lip shape . The more scar tissue that forms for those chronic fillers the more misshaped they will permanently become. I’m totaly ok with my one AND ONLY time i had it and never again.

Also she was so incredibly young when she started doing filler. She should have waited to see how her face would change as she got to her mid-twenties.
I'm never getting tired of hearing Lael talk about how awful lip filler is.
Why does it seem like all the beauty standards some of us used to get mocked for (big curves, big butt, big lips..) people are lining up for surgery to have it? And it doesn't even look right! If only they knew hpw beautiful they are in their natural state just the way they were born.
FRECKLES TOO. Ugh.
What next? Big boobs 😂 nah nobody ever mocks those
This!
And how grotesque they look post procedures
Finally being poor & unable to afford lip filler has paid off😭
I'm last year of highschool and the girls I see in my school already have fillers and sometimes even nose jobs. I went on tiktok and saw a video of my classmate using one of those lip filler pens. Having a substance pushed into your skin by compressed air into your skin sounds HORRIBLE
lol the juvederm ad on this
They need to chill 😭😭😭😭😭
The first ad I saw started off showing rubber duckies. Google heard "duck lips" and ran that direction. 😅
I just got my lips done last week and I asked my injector if she had ever done the "Russian Lips" or "Key Hole" style I've seen going around. She said "Yes, but it only looks good for about a week before your natural anatomy wins." I love asking her questions because her take on viral trends is always accompanied by an eye roll before I get her honesty 🤣
If she knows it’s just a gimmick, why does she still do them for people?
@@ghoultooth Supply and demand I guess. People go to injectors for plenty of reasons cosmetic or corrective. It's so hard to generalize EVERY situation. Now if my injector ever did those wavy alien lips...I'd have to roast her for THAT.
@@ghoultoothmoney
@@ghoultoothshe doesn't. That's why she's saying that. She uses a traditional tried and true filler method. There's a lot of gimmicks out there and people confuse it with well done fillers. These fear mongering posts only confuse people more.

Necrosis means ‘death of’ not death of skin.
Necrosis is the pathological death of cells or tissues due to injury or disease.
@@teri2466 it’s not specific to skin that’s my point. I had it in the bone.
I thought for sure _YOUR_ lips were filled, because they look so perfectly sculpted & pouty! You're so lucky!
Best way to find if somebody has gotten filler is to look at the lip lines ! If they have it that means they havent got any fillers, and if they do not have any lip lines and is soo smooth that means they do have gotton fillers. :)
She does have lip filler and botox, I don’t know why she pretends to be natural
I was bittem by some bug during my sleep... in my top lip. At certain point, I looked like an influencer... I didn't like it at all. My lips didn't go well with the rest of face, it was just strange. No harmony at all. What makes my face unique was gone. Thanks god the next day I was back to normal.
Not “Small Breakfast Sausages “ 😮😂😂😂
I have a classmate in my college class, she's a nice girl......but....she has a LOT of lip filler and it does not look good. They protrude so much I can actually see it from my peripheral vision. It's sad to think how insecure you have to be to go to those lengths
People lately have lip filler blindness. It looks so bad
I appreciate you! Your videos offer amazing insight to the downside of all this plastic surgery.
You are so fantastic...I'm so happy your spreading the truth about fillers and loving yourself as you were intended
Btw I had lip injections done 5 years ago and only one time and I still have them in my lips 💋 yes it doesn't leave! It doesn't dissolve all.the way at least for me ! I am hoping it will leave all ! As I am over having them look bumpy on lower lip! Never again !
What brand did you get and how many ML? 😳
Lael has very nice lips naturally
Body dysmorphia is trending and I’m so happy to not be in the loop
I'm biracial amd unfortunately I got my mother's pencil thin upper lip and my dad's bottom lip. I got juvederm on just my upper lip and still don't regret it.
I just asked for even top lip and having the injection it helped with not having a gummy smile.
How long did it last you?
@imjustbnmevanellopeii7359 it's been a year now and they are still full. No pain or damage
Omg! Do you know which type of juvaderm it was and how many ml your injector did?

I have small lips, they don’t bother me. I feel for women who follow these trend to feel better. It’s one thing if you just want to do it, it another if you’re doing it bc you feel bad about who you are.
Happy birthday Leal I love you girly🎉🧁🍰🎂
I used to have such thin lips that you really couldn't see them. But when I puberty hit, they grew so much that they're like 5 times as large as they used to be and I'm still insecure about they're size
I have very few physical “deal breakers.” Lip filler is at the top of the list.
I think I’ve blocked 2016 from my mind
Cancelled my appointment after watching this video
Happy birthday lael
You should collab with Stephanie Lange. That would be everything.
Yes exactly thank you. This 1000%.
I agree. I am so happy it apparently can last for up to 8 years (for some people, not for me, sadly).
@@deasvail99the data shows that it actually migrates, so you likely also do! No shade just saying it’s not really visible without a scan
Now I get compliments…
Can we stop making body parts trendy and stick to clothes and makeup as trends? We can at least take those off at the end of the day.
Exactly, you literally put my thoughts to words, these critics seem to forget that some people have these features naturally. Same with the bbl critics
I used to have very full lips when I was young. Now I'm 60 and my lips have thinned out. Mother Nature gives us what she gives us in her own time. 😊
@deaw87 Really?? I wonder if mine will change as I age b/c, now that I think about it, I never see older women with naturally plump lips.
Lip filler is nice in moderation. A very small amount of plumping is all it takes to erase lines around your lips if you're 50 something
Oh and the scar tissue that forms from lip filler lasts forever.
if you have natural big lips you are blessed! the fake ones look so ugly in person, it's better to have thin lips
So grateful for your videos.
I feel so much better about my thin lips. Thanks for the video and all your encouraging words! ❤

I don't think they were ever meant to be used in the quantities they're being used in
I always tell my daughter's that they are beautiful. ❤
I was recently offered free Botox and fillers by my friend that owns her business. I said… nope! I’m good. I’ll age gracefully 😂

My lips already are sensitive and sometimes puff up, I don't need my lips to look more puffy when the get puffed up.
Im so happy i trusted my gut and didnt get lip fillers
My big lips are the best decision in my life. I can't imagine myself without them. NO!

Ive always had naturally full lips, that was pointed out to me from a young age (i felt sexualised by it from childrhood) because of this, im just baffled by this obsession.

All righty. 0:04 and I’m already🤦🏼♀️ and had to pause twice 🙀😳🤔 What the HELL⁉️
Lip fillers aren't temporary they never fully dissolve
Bro I’ve been getting lip fillers every 2-3 years since 2017 with NO ISSUES, go to someone who is certified and knows what they’re doing
Girls, please don't do it. We men love your natural look. The only body enhancement "hack" should be the gym (& active hobbies) and healthy food.
Do the duck lips come with a tire pressure gauge and air inflation instructions?
Do kids know that rubbing garlic on your lips will puff them up? I remember when I was a kid and my mother caught me and my brother saying bad words. She rubbed garlic on my lips and my brother's lips. In a few minutes we were making fun of how big our lips got.😊
So like yourself and if others like you great 👍 the rest… who cares
The images are painful to look at. I feel so bad for them
It’s crazy, I used to hate my lips as a kid because they were very small but literally age took care of it and by the time I graduated high school my lips had filled in and fit my face.
I thought my lips were thin until I saw Kylie's actual lips and my lips are very not thin compared to that. Not that I think there's anything wrong with it, I'm just saying that the grass is always greener.

I get lip filler and you can not tell AT ALL that I have filler. It only looks fake when you have really small lips and try to fill them. You need a fuller lip to begin with for it to look natural. Also, it definitely goes away 😂
My sister gets lip fillers, they look like duck lips. It does not look natural. I’ll just keep my little lips, that’s fine.
