I was impressed with how little nervousness were in your voice (literally none!), when I visually noticed how nervous you were in the shot where you held the wrestlemania cards (20:14).
@@AskDoctorBear You might be delighted when you finish the video! Be sure to check out the Rhythm cafe VOD for Thumper. I asked Ian how did he like the drinks.
Lou Malnati's is the best. In San Diego we have Lefty's, friends of Lou's, its also the best. I was so excited to see that pizza. My family is from Chicago, fun watching you there.
As a chicagoan this video makes me really happy. It was really fun to meet you Very Tall People (and also Kathleen) and watching this video just makes me really happy.
I always love these vlogs, but watching the hometown one is so uniquely satisfying. It was a pleasure meeting everyone and thanks once again for the signatures. They have already made my cube that much more interesting and fun when drafting. :)
I can also buy The Mix (that same brand!) at grocery stores in NC and VA (in the US) and didn't actually know it was some places called "Chicago Mix" until a friend brought some back from Chicago. Also it is the best. You have fine taste.
I hope you all had a rip-roaring good time in my fair city!!!! I was so happy I got to meet you all, and you are all beyond a doubt some of the okayest (read coolest) people I've ever gotten to meet!!!
Was great meeting you guys for the first time and talking with Kathleen about Desert Bus! I gave feedback on the C2E2 survey that the only reason I bought a ticket was to come see you guys; hopefully that helps for next year (assuming it doesn't conflict with other things/you guys want to come back of course).
Lou Malnati's is my favorite of the deep dish pizzas, for three reason. 1) The buttery crust. 2) As thick as the Chicago classic is (the pizza you ordered), the pizzas at Giordano's and other establishments is usually twice as thick as even THAT. 3) The meat used is turkey sausage which is leaner than pork sausage.
Re: Kathleen's love of popcorn. Chicago Mix is trademarked. Only an unremarkable non-Chicago-based candy can sell Chicago Mix. Judging from my wife's reaction, this is an open wound for Chicagoans.
Lol how’d the crap I missed this one?! Welcome to the Midwest, in 2012 while enjoying a summer evening with a bottle and some buddies we found an open door at the McCormick center and yea place is huge.. and eerie :p I’m genuinely amazed you got from ohare to downtown and to that registration in 70 minutes kudos. I love that town miss it dearly but jeez is it a rat race! Come back in the summer the neighborhoods north of downtown are wonderful night life
I have stayed at the hotel, visiting some a group of long-distance friends that run a non-profit. I was with my mother as she was/is involved in the non-profit’s initial success. Thoughts become things. I really like that hotel. I loved having that view of Lake Michigan.
that taxi looks like the new style london black cab (made by LTE), its an electric car with an all electric drivetrain, but a small internal combustion engine that acts as a generator to keep the batteries topped up and extend the range
It was great to meet you all at C2E2, and I’m glad Graham, Kathleen, and Ian enjoyed my joke. Making comedians laugh gives me much more of a thrill than I thought it would.
I’m sorry Graham & Beej got sick & it lasted through PAX. Hopefully I can see the crew again next year at PAX East & this time NOT FORGET THE PACKS FOR CRACK A PACK. :)
I always like the Loading Times. One thing tho: I would have liked a short "part 2 soon (tm)" at the end, just to avoid momentary confusion, especially after the beer cliffhanger.
Train vs Cab: the train make intermediate stops between the airport and downtown, but isn't subject to traffic delays on the highway or stop lights once you hit the local roads.

Fun note for Beej, I didn’t know Chicago had a flag either, & I was born in southern IL. I didn’t know about the Chicago flag until CM Punk came to WWE (he would wear that design on his trunks.)
St. Louis has a flag also, but the only time I’ve seen it used is with the St. Louis Blues (NHL.) The Cardinals (MLB) don’t use it prominently, if at all.
OMG did you guys get Spotted Cow? The lengths that FIBs will go to smuggle that stuff into Illinois is hilarious. But it is very yummy (I'm a Wisconsinite).
My parents met in Chicago (and then moved away before I was born), and I can confirm I thought their favorite pizza place was "Illuminati's" for literally the first 23 years of my life until I moved to Chicago myself for a time.
Elrec of Melnibone? As a commander? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely within plastic sleeves!?
@@LadyLunarSatine damn straight. He was made into a card by Inquest gamer magazine back in the 90s alongside other literary characters (Robin hood, conan and saurin). Kathleen, I can't speak to anywhere but Wisconsin (where I'm from), but here we call Cheesy/Caramel popcorn 'mixed' and Cheddar/White Cheddar/Caramel popcorn 'trio' Why would we have two different types of cheesy popcorn in our popcorn mixes? It's Wisconsin. We inhale cheese. We like cheese so much we don't even wait to form it into bricks before we eat it. And no, it's not 1/4 Cheddar 1/4 WC 1/2 Caramel, it's 1/3 Cheddar 1/3 WC, 1/3 Caramel. We like cheese. EDIT (FTR I'm just watching the vlog and commenting on food as it appears): That's about an acceptable amount of cheese. I would have added a bit of the powdered parmesan though. See above.
