  • Week 16 - Sept 29 to Oct 5, 2022 Hurricane Ian aftermath & clean-up, making a song video for friend’s funeral
0:04 Lost a few screens in the pool cage, and a few trees are down; the house was totally fine though
0:31 We lost water and power in the house, but the RV generator & water supply came in handy
0:39 Bird gets momentarily trapped in the pool cage
0:46 Arya is our friends’ sweet Great Dane
0:47 A pool is handy when you’ve been working in the heat and there’s no water
0:55 Even with no power or water, the community spirit is still strong
1:03 Driving from our friends’ place to Port Charlotte, eyeing what happened in the different disaster zones
1:18 Gas, and gerry cans for gas, becomes the new commodity
1:24 Checking out our property in Port Charlotte, it seems much of the neighbourhood’s stray things got caught in the bramble
1:30 So inspiring to see truck after truck as part of the Convoy of Hope coming from all over the US, to help in this crisis
1:35 As you can imagine, fresh food supply became sparse for a short while
1:39 Of all the things that were displaced during the hurricane, this was the strangest. How did he get in? And funny how he was attracted to the plant - a silk one. He was not cooperative in returning him to nature, but we did it. And by ‘we’ I mean hubby.
1:49-2:37 Because of Hurricane Ian, local airports closed temporarily and we were not able to fly back for the funeral of a friend who had unexpectedly passed, Rob Boutwell. Rob played bass on many of Shawn’s projects. As soon as we got power back, Shawn, Clark and I scrambled to put together a music video in Clark’s studio, that they played at the funeral. These are clips from that video. You can watch that song here: • Video
3:05 Success in raising a few trees again, but will they hold?
3:19 Tracee (who luckily missed the entire hurricane) returns home from the World Horse competition with a tableful of awards won by her horse, Beau, and trainer.
3:25 Beau, happy to be home again
3:27 Hayes, happy Beau is home again
    3:39 Nose-y animals
4:12 Shawn impersonates Rob’s iconic FB profile pic, with his bass
Song is The Woods by Hollow Coves

Thanks for all your work on the audio and video, Clark and Chrissie. We were sick, when we knew we wouldn't be able to make it back for Rob's funeral service after his sudden passing.

Again, great job on your video. A little bit of snow in sturgis yesterday, still a couple bikes around cruising but not for much longer I bet.-Jerry
