Good afternoon members, I happen to tuned in to house of representatives this afternoon where I heard some questions and debates on the banking fees and intrest been earned by these banks in Jamaica. It is to be understood that these banks earned interest from investments for the most part. (2) the question of if the banks stop charging depositors fees, will the banks fail? Well, based on this? It seems to be addressing a certain level of depositors who cannot afford to pay these fees. Therefore, the fact is the banks will fail over time, or they will not be able to pay interest in the rate of any magnitude. The solutions in this case are to have studies done on these folks deepestery tract records as it relates to deposits/ withdrawal then make a decision as to how much fees these depositors will pay for the banking services.
