If he can put on some weight to be able to hold his own in the post against NBA level bigs, this kid could be a legit rim protecting big. He's got the length, instincts, and effort you like to see.
He is slow as he is in his current weight. Adding more poundage will be a net negative for him. And he is not thin by any means. Defensive IQ and WILL is all it takes for him and he'll be alright.

@@mimicmage My response was intended to OP. He said our guy needs to add more weight. I disagree since he already looks slow and unathletic. Now imagine if he adds 10 or 20 pounds? His athleticism might get worse than Jokic. Also his numbers are against kids like him. Expecting him to translate that in the NBA is unfair for him.
@@kuyab9122 it's not fair but if he's to become an NBA player I think he's game should transfer easier to NBA he's 23 played plenty of college usually those 4 year college students can play in NBA look at Josh Hart he's transitioning was easy.. jaxson Hayes and castleton are same age. I think this guy is agile he doesn't have a bulky or too much body fat . He can get more weight in muscle and he will be better

Would love for the Lakers to get a true vet center, but I hope Castleton makes the rotation and be a staple for the rotation.
