Thanks for the info. I have a Rottweiler. He pulls like a train. The chain/leash is "fuck you" excitement moment for him. I have never used these tools before, about time I give it a try and discipline him.

I have achieved a lot with a flat collar. Its not totally useless. But i do agree that with 9/10 dogs, you cant get much out of it.

prong collar with dead ring worked great for my dog. My dog is very sensitive, she walks perfectly without having to pop it.
She's a maniac on a flat collar or harness, unwalkable.

Also remember when using a prong to always use one with the trachea guard

Great dissertation bruh, some owners and trainers think there is no place for being firm and assertive with dogs...that is certainly not how dogs communicate with each other effectively.

So true. My last dog barely needed any training other than leash walking. We have a boxer mix and holy crap!! I’ve been through 5 different harnesses that were no help at all, two different “nice” positive food type trainers who told me his greeting was getting worse and he was Bold. No shit. Now I have a trainer who’s helping me with a Starmark collar and ecollar. Every dog is different. He’s very smart and is getting better already 💕

Would you consider a pinch collar with larger prongs like the one in this video as having more or less leverage in terms of a correction, compared to a 3.35 (I think that's the smaller one)?

It’s not a large link. I have used those and they’re just awkward in my opinion.

My pitbull has learned to remove her prong collar by making it fly apart by shaking her head. I'm debating on a triple Crown Training Collar

If your dog can shake off the prong it is not fitted right. It might be too big

Wth how does that even work, even if the collar is loose the dog shouldn't be able to shake it apart...

Trying to decide on a pinch this was helpful Starmark could be the middle ground. Thanks

You’re welcome! It’s always safe to start with the Starmark. Sometimes the pinch can be excessive.

Do you (or anyone) have any suggestions on what to do with your dog when he is obedient with you, and you take his behavior seriously but the other people in your house hold do not and believe it's okay to essentially bribe the dog with treats to get negative behavior to stop (which is a really bad fucking choice with dogs, or people, or anything really let alone your 98lb pitty). All and all he's a well behaved dog I'd say his biggest strife is walking on the leash, off the leash he'll stay right next to you but obviously that's not acceptable for all settings especially exciting ones. And that he seldom listens to what other people, than myself or my boyfriend, tell him to do.

I really liked your philosophy , point of view about training. I was intending to sub your channel. Then came the foul language. No thanks. I’m looking for a mature and adult teacher. Who and what type of low person are trying to attract? Nooooo thanks.

I don't appreciate gratuitous language either, but based on our puppy (corso x pit), I'm pretty sure he was trying to communicate accurately by quoting the dog verbatim. We have never had a dog before who cared so little about what we wanted. If she could raise her middle digit, she would.
