Hi Roger I am a skilled apprenticed and qualified engineer I find you videos absolutely wonderful clear and precise. I particularly like the method of bluing or blacking as we call it. I am involved in making many of the parts to make 4 new Bugatti Royals. Some techniques I find rather crude but the results are truly impressive. Cutting gears that way is not really the best method it does not give a true form. Hobbing is generally considered better for spur gears to stop whining.
The 'Pivofix' looks to be a most useful tool - certainly looks far easier to use than the traditional Jacot. But does it reduce the pivots by a) Grinding b) Polishing or c) Cutting/Burnishing (by pressure) or a combination of these? Thanks.
these videos are truly fantastic, i hope to be studying horology soon and your videos are an inspiration.
