This lady's argument has so many logical fallacies that you might as well call it Swiss cheese. Just because someone sounds smart doesn't mean they are.
Let us talk about the fact that the universities charge international students anywhere between 8X and 10X. What is up with that? The fact of the matter is your fancy trillion dollar economy would crumble if you all started paying "fair wages" to all the STEM jobs that the "Asians" are taking up.
10:00 As smart as she tries to sound, she doesn't understand how difficult TOEFL is for some international students. International students spend months on a test (i.e TOEFL) that an American can ace with a week's prep. They may not be able to communicate well, but they sure work much harder (and eventually do better) towards graduating with a degree in Electrical or Computer engineering as compared to the lazy population here (literature, arts, marketing, film making). I was a teaching assistant at the University where I completed my masters in EE. Trust me, Asian students that didn't speak well, got much better grades in my lab than the American born students (SOME DIDNT SHOW UP TO CLASS!)
if you plan to have your kids take TOEFL in the future, send him/her to a boarding TOEFL bootcamp in Korea. If you can afford it. they will guarantee to put your kid up in that 90th percentile. and they will get it.
@@aron-c8207 My kids will be US citizens :) (because I worked hard on TOEFL, GRE and got a masters in EE) . My point is this woman generalizes the immigrant population as cheaters without any statistics to back it up (for example: is it 10%, 20% or 100% that cheat?). I work with numbers, so that is plain bullshit.
At this point in the cancel culture war in America, he should have seen that coming, but it breaks my heart. Maybe his example will get things to change. I just can’t believe people who are supposed to be our most prized workers, American College Professors, offering the best education in the world, are so doubted and maligned by their support system and bosses. It’s a disgraceful breakdown of our education system in so many levels.
Wow I never thought I would disagree with a Republican quite as much as I do with Frank. I feel like the answer to the question of why not just let the most gifted next guy in is because we don't know if that guy's actually gifted. You can look really good on paper as Helen pointed out and be complete shit. No matter what it's a crap shoot who we let in but everybody is going to compete against everybody already here. Although I can say this, as someone who was born poor and not black by the way. That everybody from a different country basically being handed money in a way to live is really just more incentive to go on to a welfare system. The people around me when I was growing up who were better off we're all in welfare and everybody who worked was never hitting middle class. Now things are a bit different because I got lucky and I'm smart enough to actually capitalize on it. But that doesn't change the fact of where I came from and the fact that people who start there don't have a chance. And illegals make up a lot of it.
6:30 It’s capitalism! Tries to maximise profits for the companies. Stop crying now when for last 200+ years this was used as a backbone of USA’s growth and success.

You got her. Sadly, she has no idea about Canada or US immigrants on H1b. Silly
What you are saying we should make the requirements for English harder for international students than it is now.
Yes. Let's throw out some "anecdotes". That ought to make me look smart!

Only one thing missing in 'intelligent' looking speech of a lady
That thing my dear friends is "facts".
Sorry but you have been misinformed badly.
