I read Rev Lowery passed away on the weekend the other day and I was surprised he doesn’t get the recognition amongst the wider community in the USA. I’m an Australian and I had heard of him. I guess that illustrates why black history month is so crucial as so many heroes of the civil rights movement are relative unknowns. R.I.P Reverend Lowery.
I had the privilege of Meeting Mr Lowery in 2003 . Coming from South Africa 🇿🇦 and being on tour . We attended his birthday party in October in Houston Texas and we sang the South African national anthem for him . 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
As an Atlanta native, Mr. Lowery is beyond an icon not only in the civil right movement but was a beloved figure in Atlanta. I’m so proud that he was a part of my city and his legacy and presence is and will forever be felt here and world wide. Thank you sir for your constant fight for justice, rest well.
Part of the problem is the media underplaying the problem then over hyping the problem. First they called racist for his first steps then created fake stories such as the suggestion to use fish cleaner and used people following that fake story to attack Trump. The worst part is that the people will the most power to mitigate the problems are the local elected officials. Too many people are buying the chinese propaganda and at the local level are getting mixed messages.
