    This is my reaction to Polish 1000 Year Hell March (1966 Millennium Parade)
    In this video I react to a hell march military parade in Poland in 1966 that took place to celebrate Poland being 1000 years and their millennium as a country. We say the Polish military marching through Poland.

    At that time, the Polish Army had almost 500,000 soldiers and was second after the USSR in the Warsaw Pact. This parade was important for the authorities because they wanted to show Poland's strength and distract society from the problems in the country. This is also why a lot of effort went into building 1,000 schools to celebrate this anniversary.

      All in all, this equipment was not used (apart from the interventions of the Soviet block in Czechoslovakia, a few years later, in 1968, but the Poles did not use weapons there and tried to do nothing in general), and martial law in Poland in 1980, but then tanks went on the streets, people were threatened, but they were not shot from tanks... The Poles gave the Ukrainians a lot of their old equipment from the communist times after Russia attacked Ukraine in 1922, but this equipment was much newer, from the 70s and 80s, and often in addition it was later improved and modernized.

    This parade referred to the army in the early days of Poland, their costumes and weapons in the old days, as they celebrated 1000 years of the Polish state, counted from 966, when Poland adopted Christianity. I don't know if you know, but in the old days the army called hussars (the one with wings) had horses of a different breed than those in other horse armies. They were bred only on a few farms and there was a total ban on trading these horses, under penalty of death. They were strong enough to carry a heavy knight in armor and very fast. They were typical war horses without fear. They were trained to fight, attacking with their hooves, biting and trashing the enemy. They did great damage to the enemy in battles and spread terror. I remember the parade, I was 9 years old at the time and it was a great experience for me and it was very beautiful. I also remember those people, dignitaries and the first secretary of the party on the stands, everything was beautiful, but in reality it was not so beautiful. The communists only cared about their image.

      @paulinarapicka Місяць тому +3

      Yeah, a propos those horses- the term "breed" is relatively young, about 200 years, from the time of the first dog breed show. Everything before was bred according to a "type". I found info that those "hussar horses" were our native mares bred with Turkish horses (akhal-teke and Turkmen among others) and with "dzianet" horses- Spanish and Portuguese horses (Pura Raza Espanola and the like). These horses were known under the term "koń Polski" - "Polish Horse" (NOT to be confused with "konik Polski", this one is an attempt to bring back "Tarpan"- a wild, forest, small primitive type of a horse). It is a shame that type of war horse is no more, and that we don't really know what it was, we can only guess...

      9:48 On July 22, for the 22nd time, representatives of all regions, all professions and organizations took part in the youth demonstration. [this is propaganda, marches were obligatory]
      10:02 Miners' orchestra of the Walenty-Wawel mine.

So this part of parade for me it's kind like a symbol that we were under occupation of Soviet Union.

    Don't forget that it was Soviet equipment. It was to be used against, among others, Great Britain. Fortunately, it was never used and now we are allies. And we have replaced or are replacing all these weapons with American and Korean ones, and we buy missiles from Norway, the USA and Great Britain. We now produce a lot of weapons ourselves. And the direction in which it is now directed was chosen by us, not as it was then imposed on us.

    @MertPol I see you are very interested in Polish Husars ,in video about them you mad reaction to there is few not really precise explanations about Winged Husars . There is a real reason why they were wearing wings ,Poland until early 1800 was home to a Polish horse called Tarpan ,this horse was massive able to wear full body armour and rider with body armour without lose in it's gallop speed ,they were the biggest horses in Europe and Europe-Asia ( current Belarus, Ukraine ,Romanie , Turkey) ,this horses were very brave and could easly go trough battle field with explosions etc. ,what they were afraid of it's high pitch noise like feathers made while gliding through air ,we human can hear it but they do very well ,that is why Husars were wearing feather wings ,horse would hear this noise constantly behind geas head and rush with amazing speed and force try to get away from it ,making in a sense life tank ,that trash anything in it's path . That's also the reason why them horses were creating they bond with the rider and obey it's commands since very young age ,once it's rider died no one could ride the this horse . That's why also Husars were always from noble families cause you have train few horses during your service time Husar unit and beside noble families not many could afford it .

    Those days are long gone and the Polish army today no longer looks like that. All the equipment that was left over from those times has gone to the Ukraine, and Poland is arming itself to the teeth once again because Poland's neighbour is once again threatening us. Such are our neighbours. All the historical formations in this film are true, but to describe them I would have to write a whole long elaboration. Someone here has provided a link to a source on Wikipedia, so have a read. As our history has shown, the Polish soldier has always been very combatant and well-trained, and a Polish pilot will fly even on a barn door, and in order for the Polish soldier not to have to do that again, Poland has no choice but to arm itself and rebuild a large army and look for reliable allies, because it has no choice, even at the expense of the good life of Poles. There was peace for 30 years and then it started again, instead of investing in Poland we have to invest in the army again.

      You're wrong. The Polish army today is more powerful (The Polish army ranks 20th in the global ranking), maybe not as numerous as in the ZSRR, because the army was much reduced, but under the PiS government, the army grew up and modernized, it grew stronger at a very fast pace. At the end of 2023y. it counts about 191 500 of which 134 500 are professional soldiers, because during the liberal-left government of D.Tusk, (which is pro-German imperialist and treasonous), the army was only shrank and weakened). Today's army almost reached 198,000 soldiers of 1999 year.

    The celebration of the millennium of Poland's baptism was a kind of schizophrenia. The communist government celebrated the 1000th anniversary of the state (apart from the fact that we count it from the baptism of Poland) and the Catholic Church celebrated the 1000th anniversary of the baptism. Poles, as Poles do, first saw the state parade and then went to churches to pray ;)

Jak pewnie zobaczyłeś to Wizygot czy Ostrogot składa się z sylab ostro i got a jak wiemy w językach anglosaskich Bóg to Got . Jasnookich i jasnowłosych nazywano Bogami .
